This is really useful, thank you! Short jackets (to wear with skirts) are hard to find; you almost have to make them. First time I've seen someone use a sewing machine on the floor! You are a creative and limber person.
Great videos. I'm an old sewer where it was all about being a "seamstress". I love the way sewing has changed and it's now more about creativity, upcycling and fun. I'm learning a whole new way of looking at sewing and loving it.
you all probably dont give a damn but does anyone know a trick to get back into an Instagram account?? I stupidly lost the login password. I love any tricks you can offer me
Wow! 6 Years after you posted this & I'm still in awe! So clever & inventive. A great way to refurbish/upcycle an old top (esp. if you love it & it has a hole or two!). Thanks again.
i seriously love your channel! i think the thing i like the most is you buy from thrift stores, walmart, etc. a lot of channels spend $50 on a shirt, and some people cant afford it. you make adorable clothes very affordable. thank you!
I wanted to give this 2 thumbs up! I really dislike having a logo spread across my chest, so this is a super idea for a T-shirt where I like the color, fabric and logo. Miss April has tremendous "3-dimensional thinking."
this is the sweetest thing this side of heaven. i just love it and thanks . oh forgot . I'm a 67 year old hippie, with t shirts from all around the country. I was an over the road truck driver . I owned my own Harley Davidson. and have lots of Harley t's. i made a hand bag out of a little t shith . Now all of them are big ones . thanks for sharing . now Im going in fo Sergey. gonna come in handy . SWEET .
Girl, I thought I was special sewing standing up on my countertop! Kuddos to you for being able to sew on the floor. Looked like you were driving a Go-Cart with the pedal to the metal! Lol, I enjoy your videos.
If I could like videos more than once I would. This is so simple and fun to do with old shirts and sweaters and doesn't take a lot of skill! Thanks a lot for the tutorial
Would this be a good project to start out on? I've never sewn before so I would want to start off with something easy that would still look good and I could wear.
Purple-Giraffe I would start out with a pencil case, there are a lot of beginners tutorials on here. Once you get comfortable with the sewing machine and how quickly you sew, then this project would be a good thing to try out.
you can cut the sleeves, cut the neck wider, make a slit in the middle of the neckline so your chest can breathe, and if its realllly tight you can cut the sides and insert a strip of fabric down the sides :)
Wow. lol - that's talent; I found all your videos yesterday and went rummaging through my old clothes to see what I could rehash :) xxx keep it up!! Love it :)
I did this! I found a shirt with a cool Hawaiian print all the way around the bottom and the shirt was black, when done the sleeves both had Hawaii written on them with the print, it wasn't perfect but it was darn good for a really really new sewer and my very first DIY makeover attempt. Thank you! I don't know how I'd post a picture, but they didn't show up very good, if I can get a picture of my Daughter in it, I"ll try and post that.
Omg!!!! I’m here all 😱😱😱 this is super cool and mind blowing. This gave me an idea for some jacket that I was going to do for a cosplay, so thank you so much!!!!
April, I have been watching your Thrifted Transformations videos and I love them. You are so very talented. You should be on one of the TV competitions. This T-Shirt makeover is just what I have been looking for. Thank you. I am so glad that I found your channel. Blessings!
thanks! I'm gonna try! If it doesn't work out, it's okay too, the t shirt's not that important! By the way, this tutorial is AMAZING! On my next trip to the secondhand shop I'm going to look out for some cool oversized shirts to try this out :) You ROCK!
I might try this one with one of my brother's shirt. Lol. I hope he won't notice I cut out his shirt into this. Fabulous girl! Make more DIYs please? :)
i just try it with a V shape neck t-shirt a few minutes ago. And i couldn't get any resorts =) It must be an exactly O shape or it must be same view for t-shirts both sides. This is a lovely DIY. I will try it soon, again. Sorry, for my bad english =)
I was actually thinking of trying this with a v-neck and was wondering if it would work as well, so thank you for commenting and saving me the butching of a shirt haha :)
