Here's a quick video showing how you can make your own tufting frame from cheap hardware store timbers.
The frame in the video has a working area for 1.5m x 1.5m but by changing the length and position of the top and bottom rails you can make it to any size you'd like.
Thanks for watching, and leave a comment if you have any questions :)
If you're in Melbourne Australia and want to discuss commissioning a project, I'm actively looking for new work to make and film :)

Just built my frame, this weekend. Quite happy with it, to be fair. 😁 My frame is the same height as yours but the internal frame is 1m x 1m, so my lower beam sits higher. Just need to build a sturdy base for it, like yours, and wall protections at the top rear of the frame. Then, I'm good to go!

Neither had I! Just got asked to help out a local textile student. Very interesting process, wouldn't mind have a shot it myself ;)

carpet tack strips go around all four sides to grip and stretch the material, so this frame is missing that, which is understandable to transport.

Like the look of this Joe, quite simply you’ve kept all angles & sections on the project flowing along & that’s how it should be 🍻👍🇦🇺

How,is the carpet going to hold up,when tufting a carpet?
@JoesWorkbench
@JoesWorkbench Год назад
Hi, The stand wasn’t for me but I believe they added nail strips to hold it them in place, the type our put on the floor to secure carpet.

Great work, Are the small tool boxes each side of the kregg pocket hole jig 3D printed? If they are where can I find the STL. Thank you
@JoesWorkbench
@JoesWorkbench 3 года назад
Hi Adam, Yes they are 3D printed :). They are also slightly recessed to give more internal depth. Shoot me an email at Joe@joesworkbench.com and I’ll dig up the STLs and email them to you :)

What size is that frame
@JoesWorkbench
@JoesWorkbench 3 года назад
Hi Josh the frame in the video is about 5x5ft (1500mmx1500mm). I made a second set of rails for a 5x8ft version as well and the user just swaps them out if needed👍🏻
