Hello Whitney, I sincerely enjoyed your video... The fact that you didn’t edit out any your tiny errors so everyone else could avoid them, was very admirable of you! I subscribed and rang the notification bell and I’m looking forward to watching more of your Channel. Your decoupaged cans turned out quite lovely! I can’t wait to try printing onto tissue paper. I’m so tired of looking for napkins, then having to settle for something, that’s not quite what I was looking for! (Never mind the fact that you’re stuck purchasing a entire package of them and you only needed one!) ♥️👍🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Great tips on printing on tissue and the application. I'd never heard of using plastic wrap. Great tip! Please don't be so hard on yourself. Remember Shabby Chic is suppose to be shabby!

Beautiful work! Loved both of the videos. I would like to do the tin cans that the Danish cookies come in. The kind they sell at Walmart for 5.00 and those tins have build up in my studio trying to figure out what to do with it. By the way, the doggy just stole my heart LOL 😄❤

Wonderful!! Very beautiful! For those of you who want to do this but don't have all the materials, you can also just use the computer paper: print the image of your choice, cut it nicely and glue as instructed. I've done it in the past when I had no tissue paper, and it looks great too...

Thank you for sharing that! I kind of want to do another decoupage project with magazine clippings. Have you ever used magazines?

@@WhitneyBaldwin Yes. Mix the glue with a little water, so that it wets the paper and will soften it a little bit. In this way, it'll adhere to the surface better, let it dry a little and use normal undiluted glue over the paper. One can also use kitchen paper to prepare the can tin, using this same technique. The idea is to save paint, when you have previous images you wonna hide, and add a little texture to the can. You can then use paint when dry...it looks wonderful...

what came in the tin can that had a completely flat surface (instead of the groves)?

Love the plastic wrap idea to smooth them out. But not too roughly. Lol. They all looked great.

What ink do you used

This is a great video ! I loved your work ! You deserve way more views and subscribers... 😍😍❤️❤️❤️❤️ I wanted to check if it’s a laser print you are using to printout the tissue paper. I have an inkjet printer ... does it work without bleeding when you apply modpodge?
@WhitneyBaldwin
@WhitneyBaldwin 3 года назад
Thank you for such a lovely comment!!! ❤️ I printed with an inkjet as well. Just let the ink dry COMPLETELY! I printed mine and let them dry for about 12 hrs - that’s probably excessive but you could just let them sit out over night. After you adhere them to your surface, let that completely dry as well before going over top with another layer of modpodge.

Very pretty! Can you use scrapbook paper for this or is it too thick?
@WhitneyBaldwin
@WhitneyBaldwin 2 года назад
I think scrapbook paper would be too thick on a corrugated surface. If you’re going to put it on a flat surface and don’t mind the edges being visible you can totally use scrapbook paper.

What brand of printer are you using? Im thinking of investing in a good laser printer but haven't found one yet.

I am using a Canon Pixma - it is an inkjet though. I really enjoy it... keep you eye out for Black Friday sales. I snagged mine for $50. The ink is where they getcha

Nice video thanks, how did you remove the glue residue may I ask? I've used wd40 but it's not great in my opinion ..it's so time consuming trying to get the glue off when doing a lot of cans ....
@WhitneyBaldwin
@WhitneyBaldwin 4 года назад
Have you tried Goo Gone? It works really well on other sticky situations. One these I just sanded them a little bit apparently not enough. I’m getting ready to make some more and if I find a better solution I’ll let you know!

@@WhitneyBaldwin lovely thanks...I've come across online that equal parts oil (any as far as know), like olive oil,coconut etc and bread soda, leave on for 10 mins then scrub 🤔 I'm going to try it so I'll let you know 😉
@Naomirose86
@Naomirose86 4 года назад
Whitney I can happily say it actually works 😁 woohoo...I used equal parts bread soda and melted coconut oil, rubbed it on with a sponge brush to get into the grooves and left for about 20 minutes, it says to leave it for 10 but I was doing things so was over 10 mins and I scrubbed it under a warm tap and off it came, so delighted, better than any WD-40 in my opinion, and doesn't stink like that stuff...
