I replaced all the front end suspension components on my 2008 Ford Ranger and did the front end toe alignment by myself using just two pieces of square steel tubing and a tape measure. I didn't sound very optimistic about it in the video at times but the results of this spoke for itself because in the end it did actually work extremely well! The truck drove straighter than ever.

Is somehow Bruce is the best mechanic in the room? BTW I adopted a "Bad pitbull" here in Italy named Diego because of the Bruce videos, but he isn't as good of an alignment technician as Bruce is. Baby steps.

Question, since height of bar will affect measurement shouldn't the bar be at spindle height? Wouldn't factory specs be referenced to spindle center?

Wish I had bars to put on my wheels like that usually I do a toe in alignment every other year on my Ranger and I surely eyeball it the best I can by looking at it towards the front of it about 10 feet back in my driveway I don't know how you can do it with such small space in the garage I really do it in my driveway good video cool dogs man..take care.

I use string from rear tire to front tire. Works good too...

@stoney renegade I can't change the camber though. Truck seems to have negative camber. My truck was pulling to The right, so I did my little trick with the string. Now it has very little pull to the right. There's always a little pull to the right if the road has a slant towards the ditch. I have it towing in about an 1/8 of an inch, and It's much better to handle

The front wheels are normally toed in 0.00 to 0.05 degrees to enforce a straight forward thrust angle

Thanks for your help. I think I'll use this method on my Toyota camper, which I think had been adjusted with a bad Idler arm knuckle. Since I replaced the center link the steering is no longer centered. Doesn't the length of your tubing, being longer than the tire diameter, exaggerate the measurement to where the actual toe in is less than you calculated?

U skiped a step where are u measuring from with the ruler it just look like you're putting a ruler to the tire I'm not seeing when you starting to measure from

Forgot the last step: Drive the car, if the steering wheel veers left, adjust both wheels to the right slightly. Vice-versa for left until the wheel is straight. Yours seem to sit to the left a little. Fine mechanically but humans are vain creatures. I need my steering wheel straight too!
