Right! It makes all the difference in the world, I replaced my clutch and flywheel on that exam same car with just a jack and jack stands... It was a nightmare. Thinking back I don't know how we did it.
Lots of good information in here but holy does your lighting blow, camera is either out of focus or it's too dark to see 1/3 of the things you are trying to show off.
I just had my engine changed (g37) with a q50 3.7 block i conected everything but the engine turns over but it wont start. Now that little ground wire that you were trying to unplug passenger side under the car that seems to go from the exhaust manifold to the body. I remember it on the g37 engine but it was not a plug it was bolted onto the body. Now this new engine did not come with that ground wire will this prevent the car from starting. I also dont have any codes. Any help appreciated. Thanks

I am doing an engine swap on my 2009 G37x and did not have a lift so I went in through the front. I have the old motor out but I can't get the new one in flush with the transmission and onto the mounting brakets because the exhuast manifold on the right hand side is in the way. Is there a way to get it in without breaking anything and get it flush with the transmission? The transmission is still in the car. We also disconnected the front differential and connected it to the engine to make it easier to get in. The center axle is also in the engine. We just can't get it in there and get it to line up. Any ideas? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
@@danielthomas4018 Yeah I did it was a massive pain but we got it done. It took a lot of pry bars, transmission jacking, and curse words but eventually we got it in.

How can the vq35 ecu run a vq37 it would be lean from the mid range to the top of the rpm curve. Are the ecu's coded to the chassis number or can they be changed. Thank you

I would recommend replacing your engine and ecu with a newer version and installing a btw tuning GTR TT kit (btwtuning.com). Alternatively a topgunz "ACE" supercharger kit is also an excellent alternative. As for the fuel system I would recommend a radium surge tank setup, I've been very pleased with that kit or you can choose to do a traditional CJM return fuel system kit. I can provide you with a replacement ecu also, as the factory 2008 ecu does not have enough rom space to fully install all of ecutek racerom features. Feel free to contact me with any additional tuning questions.
Its the same for a 370 right? Not that i plan on pulling my engine anytime soon. Just curious if thats the only way to get it out? Can they come out of the front? Or this just the best, easiest way?
What model HaulMaster lift table is that? Trying to get table specs to ensure I get a lift table that will hold the engine/trans like you did in the vid.
This is unrelated, but would you happen to know what causes a certain noise in a lot of Infiniti Gs. At around 1-2k rpms, when slowly accelerating from a stop, doesn’t happen all the time, it sounds like ratting maybe coming from engine compartment or possibly from the undercarriage. My guess is that it could be a loose heatshield maybe? It doesn’t happen from just revving the engine while parked... and as mentioned before, it happens to a lot of Gs (37s/35s). I don’t believe mileage is of concern. My car happens to be a 2011 G37X Sedan with the 7AT
it's probably the catalytic converter(s). it's easy to check this. Remove the y-pipe and see if the material inside is moving/loose. An easy way to determine the catalyst noise is to listen to each cat when the noise is occurring.

If I was looking to modify it, I would. But this one is staying completely stock, due to being a daily driver. Don’t want to compromise reliability. 👍🏽❤️

Eugene. Is it possible to replace engine of 2011 G25 with VQ37 engine? Direct bolt on/start? Does it require replacement on transmission/ECU/wire harness etc... To be replaced as well? I guess it would be less headache if I just sell perfectly running G25 and get a good G37. 😁

We got the motor in my 2009 intiniti g37x after a motor swap (same motor from different but exact same car) and the car refuses to do anything other than click the starter. The flywheel won't even crank. We have tested the battery and the starter and both are good. We need help. Why won't this thing start? Is there something we need to do with the ECU?

Bruh you need a lift because to replace engine on that you need to drop the entire front subframe, if you were in Pittsburgh I could have done it for you.
The vq37 will mount directly in places of a vq35. May need custom plumbing and will need the vq37 ecu. Even the vr30tt mounts directly in. Needs shorter engine mounts. Check NoirTm. Doin his vq30tt swap into 370z in driveway. Had engine stuffed in less than a day
@@samuelarizmendi the vq35 to vq37 swap is all over the z and g forums... Z1 did a vr30 swap also but they were no help to me, Noir, or others trying to figure this 1 out. Noir goes from start to finish in a simplified condensed version but is very responsive to YT and IG.
San Saechao pulling off the front end is much more time consuming. The factory recommended procedure is to drop the engine with the subframe as we do here in this video.
Time and money. Figure about 8 to 10 hours unhooking things and another 10+ hours putting things back in + the cost of getting the A/C unit charged, Power steering working, coolant refilled. I figure this is about a 4k job and that doesn't include the spare engine. Also you should ensure the spare engine was not abused and I would replace the dreaded galley oil gasket with the reinforced metal one. It's not a cheap job and if you could find a spare engine and work on it part time while you get your funds together, It may lesson the blow financially.
