i've always wanted a waistcoat for my outfits but never found one that fit perfectly or a sewing tutorial that was good, so im REALLY excited to sew this now
I've never seen a channel that is this well explained and friendly to beginners, I'll definitely buy some fabric and sew this for myself, thank youuuuuu
Best sewing tutorial for a vest that I’ve seen. The only think I would do different is somehow make the last open seam for turning at the side interior seam.
I just finished sewing a tier skirt from your tutorial (it was for the Barbie movie and it turned out lovely!) and wanted to sew a vest for a separate outfit and stumbled upon this video! I love your videos, they're so simple and fun to watch too :) Thank you for making them!
I want to make waist coat from several years ago. I saw many tutorials and I gave up my efforts. But you Jess, explain everything. It looks like, I can also try a bit. Thanks for sharing tutorials
Jess I don't know how, but it's like you've turned into my hero. I literally type 'diy vest' and boom your video pops up. 'diy sundress' your video pops up again! I'm so blessed. Thank you so much. I made so many things watching your videos. They all turned out so well. :* Love from India.
Thanks for loving it! For this one, it's better to test it out with cheap fabric first before using your expensive one. Because it's quite fitted and you might need to adjust some parts too.
Thank you so much! I made this vest today and it has easily become one of my favorite things I've made and worn:) You really are carrying all the beginner sewists on your back ha! --eagerly tuned in to see what you make next
Hi! I have few questions: 1. Do we have to add extra 1cm while cutting the pattern on cloth? Or did you already add sewing allowance to the pattern? 2. While making the back side pattern you said the total length to be 44 cm but actually took 50 cm on scale. Please make it clear. Happy stitching 🧵 Thank you!
1- I already add seam allowance at the end of the pattern drafting before cutting. 2- It's 50cm. It's the length of the waistcoat. So you can adjust to have your own length.
Great video as always. But something is missing from this one. Something wasn't said clearly or shown. I got to the end with right sides showing and 2 openings at the bottom (as shown) and 2 side openings (as shown). This is a dead end. Now there is no way to close the sides or the openings at the bottom. If you go inside out and close these openings, now there is no way to turn the garment right out again.
Thank you for sharing your skills. I would love to have a vest like that, it looks wonderful. How could I make my own pattern? Maybe you have a tutorial for a basic pattern?
I should have known this video earlier, so it saves my money to buy a paper pattern for waistcoat. Not to mention that the contour of your pattern is even more feminine!
Hi thx for this beautiful tutorial, ❤❤I Have A Question;can I use OTHER FABRICS for the lining?if yes what is your suggestion?for example rayon or viscose?
Videoyu izleyerek yeleği kızıma diktim.İngilizce bilmiyorum fakat gösterimlerinizden çok rahat anlayabiliyorum.Yelek çok başarılı oldu.Teşekkkür ederim
Please share the name of the cloths materials with lining which you used. And explain why back shoulder cutting measurement is always big in lengths than front shoulder drafting? So confused about it
Oh my God!! This is so incredible! I have too of this and they are a little bit to small now cause somebody gain a little weight so I looking for a tutorial and there you go!!!! You did it!!! Thank you Jess (althought it is a bit disturbing)😂
I thought that the size in the m video, but when I followed steps and sew that was not size M, it was much smaller than me, can you show us places to change size?
I am not clear on the pockets. You made the tops of them and the cuts for them but does the stuff just float around inside the vest's "guts"? there is no defined pocket area.
Thank you Jess!. please did you also make the pants you wore with the waist coast? Please could you share how you made it?. Thank you for amazing content
Hello. Great tutorial. But I have a question. How come your 1/2 neck size is just 7cm? Does that mean that your full neck size is 14cm? That's really small... Maybe you meant 1/4 of the neck size?
My neck size here is not the circle of my neck. It's the width between 2 sides of the neck. It's also the width of the neck of the waistcoat that I want
