I may be mistaken in this comment, but if I remember correctly, you were not particularly skilled in construction work, carpentry, or woodworking when you first started Rag-a-bone. But man... Look at you now! You are near flawless with that jig saw, upside down, and your quick ability to premeasure and lay out in advance your cuts on a panel sheet before install. I am so encouraged how you went from little to no skill, to such ability and confidence. Kudos.

Instead of applying primer directly to MDF edges, try applying one coat of diluted PVA glue (50% glue, 50% water) first, and then sanding that (also, sand it only lengthways with a block, don't use an orbital sander on MDF edges). I find that it results in a nicer (harder, flatter, more resistant) surface.

Great job, I'd agree with your brother in screwing to the wall instead of using adhesive, I panelled my hall and bedroom last year and used lost tite screws into 6mm fischer duopower wall plugs, and filled and sand afterwards, when painted you won't see the holes.

I absolutely hate,loathe and detest having to paint anything, it really does my head in. One of the best things that I found was to line the paint tray with a piece of kitchen tin foil. So when you have finished painting just throw the tin foil away and you don’t have to worry about cleaning the paint tray.

I've done some paneling in the past, but had to mount the MDF on batons to create an air gap as it was an external wall. So unless the MDF you are using is moisture resistant, I'd be cautious having the MDF immediately against the wall. Either way, a great video and end result

Just a professional tip here, don't use handsaw with full fist grip, your index finger should be free place against handle face, it's the guide finger for straight balanced cutting, watch Robin Clevitt, I am a joiner, but you are very good👍

That looks like a very nice result. I avoid using MDF unless it's absolutely necessary, and always wear a mask when working with it, even with good extraction. It's evil stuff.

Waste of time putting full sheets up. Paint the wall and just fix rails and picture rail to the wall. Why put sheets on the wall first? The wall is the backing board? Seems like a waste of money to me

Hey, the base colour of my room is a light green, but currently a pale beige. Who knows, I might even change it some day, but white is the easiest to apply and touch up. Bathroom I mixed up a batch of pale blue, just to use up some deep pthalo blue sample, and use the beige I did have, but did not like. Came out nice enough, though now have to do the ceiling again, because of a leak from upstairs.
