You really have such a great process and great videos. Thank you for sharing them. I'm wondering if you've considered using materials that are not disposable to cut down on plastic waste? You could easily replace those plastic cups with reusable silicone bowls for example.

I add my titanium to the dry cement and stir the dry ingredients 1st. I add about 5 or 6% of my weight. That seems to get mine super white

Thanks for your content!! I'm struggling with the hexagon mould off amazon as it really is tough to get off but hoping I can get the hang of it soon. Because of it's shape its really hard to roll down. The smaller octagon set of 12 moulds have my jars coming out a little lopsided at times even though im shaking and adjusting it on a flat surface - tips?

Hi! For the smaller ones I would say just tap the sides gently to get the form back. I experienced the same thing but after playing around with it a bit they straighten out :)

@WizeOwlCandles
@WizeOwlCandles 3 года назад
I would make sure it is on a flat surface when drying and really make sure you are tapping the sides. I found that sometimes the concrete will be higher on one side so getting level to the mold to see if the bottom is level will help too :)

Hi, I´m having a hard time getting my vessels sharped after demolding them. when you said: 4:1 ratio. how much concrete grams are in that ratio? why sealer is necessary on vessels? and why mine got cracked after poring my wax :( Help!!!
@WizeOwlCandles
@WizeOwlCandles 3 года назад
I actually don't measure the concrete in grams. I have done it by eye this whole time. I would say for my cylinder mold I usually use about half of a red solo cup. I would say try to make one without as much water to test it out. That may help with the cracks. The sealer is so that the wax doesn't seep through the concrete. I would say at least seal the inside

Hi there. Just found your channel and subscribed! I was just wondering if you have ever tried to make a terra cotta colored vessel? I know there are terra cotta colored acrylic paints, but I’m just wondering if they would come out looking just orangey because you can’t use too much paint in the cement. Just wanted to get your thoughts.🙂. Just ordered 3 molds…can’t wait to try these!

Hi! Sealant is definitely a preference. I personally have tested Polycrylic on mine and have not had any issues. This is straight from their site for your reference :) "Minwax® Polycrylic® Protective Finish is a crystal clear, fast-drying protective topcoat for use over bare wood, oil- and water-based stains, paint and wallpaper. It has very little odor, is non-flammable, cleans up easily with soap and water, and can be recoated in only 2 hours"
