I think that looks great for a cost effective cover-up. I am considering now to do this for two closets in my hallway as opposed to replacing the existing old thousand times painted wood shelves. Thank you for your video.

I would have ripped a 3" faceplate from the plywood to cover the 1x3 so it looked like one piece.
