HackaDay Direct To Garment printer. The orange was a test print, as you can see if your platen isn't 100% flat and level relative to the head, you'll get some smudging and general print errors. The white shirt was a perfect (well, test) print that we did a little earlier.

I knew this was possible. very cool to see it. I had planned to place in my printer a thin party plastic bag to print a design on it for a kite I want to make.

slick mechanism... so simple, drawer-slides and wood. Could be used for all sorts of other things, as well.

Guess it was our fault for not giving a link to the original article in the description. But its easily findable on the Hackaday website. In said article, we state to use DTG inks and even recommend a vendor. Regular epson and printer inks wash out (even after we heat pressed them). We have (machine) washed the shirt 3 times thus far with DTG inks and it has yet to fade!

Awesome job and nice result, one question pops up in my head though; is the result machine washable?

I still do not understand how the drawer movement is keep in sync with the printer head. Does the printer nudge the drawer with its included rollers, or did you have to add a heftier motion mechanism?

good, but the final result doesn't show the dirt on the top right of the tshirt.

Some Questions: 1. What type of ink is used to print? (normal is washable) 2. At 0:49, we see big spot after printing (at the top of the printing picture) . However, at 1:01 he showed us clear print without this spot !? It is FAKE.

How does the ink hold up to a washer and dryer?
@RodneyGardner
@RodneyGardner 11 лет назад
really? It seems a lot faster than any screen printing method. Design, load shirt, send to printer, wait... Doesn't seem so bad to me.
