This is what Dj Skills were like back in the Day - True Blending of various tracks - Turning a stack of LP's into one long track vs this weak modern day - No Mixing Skill set wanna be Dj's - DJ 21 - you took this 53 yr old man on a mental journey back into the day - Thank You - Kiddies Take Note this is the Real -
Use to teach breakdancing in the 80s.....i was a glide master had the best time ever. Last time I tried I nearly had a Stoke and couldn't move for a week 😁
DEAR LORD JESUS~!!! I’m 56 & this was my era ~ God I was THE cutest size 3 you ever did see, lol ~ seriously, if THIS MIX had played in a club back when these songs were new, I would’ve cried tears of joy & then danced myself into musical heaven. So glad I found this ~ or it found me on this chilly Friday evening in the Bay Area. I texted it to my two older sons & said if they listened it would cure all their problems.
Maaaaan! This reminds me of Cameron Paul R.I.P. and Michael Erickson at Studio West in San Pancho and also at 107.7. Fake ID entry days but well worth it. Those were da days!!! Thanks for bringing back the memories. Great job! I saw Michael Erickson mixing on 3 turntables opening up for the Egyptian Lover in San Jo. Daaaang brotha! You rock!!! Keep it up. Depending on your age, you may be a reincanation of Cameron. Now go buy a blue vette!

Boss Level! Several of the tracks I heard...artists...Egyptian Lover, Uncle Jamms Army (?), Jonzun Crew, Newcleus, Afrika Bambaata + Soul Sonic Force, Kraftwerk, G.L.O.B.E & the Whiz Kid, LA Dream Team, Freeze (IOU), Man Parrish, Ice T & Chris The Glove Taylor, Popcorn, Divine Sounds, Afro-Rican, Axel F, Dynamix II...thanks that was a SUPERB mix!
Don't forget Hashim, Cybotron, Debbie Deb, Strafe, Shannon, Yes, Rob Base & DJ E-Z Rock, Freestyle, RoyalCash, Felix & Jarvis, Hot Streak, Tag Team, Yazoo to name a few others ;)
@@hijo68 that’s “Hip Hop, Be Bop (Don’t Stop)” by Man Parrish. The track is sped up in the mix as the original is slower. Great track. Mixed into “Set it off” (?), then a Yazoo / Vince Clark track, Ice-T and Chris ‘the glove’ Taylor’s track “Reckless”, ‘Popcorn”, Afro-Rican’ “Give it all you got”…can’t recall the exact track names on the spot…into “Axel-F” by Harold Faltemeyer as used in the “Beverly Hills Cop” movie.
I'm so happy to hear my style of writing to this beat is great news about the industry for past generations of royalties for being the original ownership
A big thank you for this upload! In 2020 am listening this ❤️❤️ and I wasn’t even born in that phase but these songs are hypnotizing ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
You hear a lot of DJ's that put up funky mixes that sound more like raves. Not our man James, he brings the songs that are the base of all these mixes and just makes them better.
The MOST underrated genre of music from when i was a kid. I wish I had gotten more into this, but my best friend was the only exposure I got. My other best friends were mainly into hard rock, heavy metal and alt rock
Rabbid0281 I was a weird kid I guess. I loved Planet Patrol, Arfikka Bammbatta, Jonzun Crew, and all those spacey electro rap groups, but I was also into Aerosmith, Judas Priest and Motley Crue. Shout at the Devil album was played a lot back in the day. And it may be my rose colored memories, but it seemed like people got along with each other better back then.
