Cops don't care if the victim wants to press charges. If there was enough evidence of rape in the tapes, someone one would have been in jail already.

She can't "send him to prison" if she brought her case to the cops and they didn't charge him that's that.

1. She was an illegal immigrant. I'm not going after a super rich guy if I'm trying to keep a low profile to get my papers together. 2. Why suddenly all validity goes through the police? Always in these cases. Any other case it's ftp. If I'm gonna be accused of asking for it while he may or may not go to jail, I'd rather hit his pockets because thats what he only cares about.

@@mandeanraje2300 not to defend Ak but that doesn't make sense. You and OP need to realise that the victim doesn't control criminal prosecution. She reports it they go after him, she isn't involved other than providing info. Suing him is actually much more high profile and involved. The real reason he didnt get prosecuted is the cops chose not to. They do that all the time sometimes for valid reasons sometimes shady.

@nevadanate4957 a rich man gets away with stuff all the time. There's no guarantee he'll go to jail. Look at Diddy, with a video like that, should be in jail, but nope. And even if they arrest Akademiks, there's a whole trial that he still might win because the justice system is flawed af. She might not be involved in the day to day but people will still go after her character and she might lose. One thing that's a lot more rewarding is suing, and it'll hurt him because he cares about his public stance and his money. And just because you sue someone in civil court, doesn't mean the prosecutor can't still go after him. I'm just saying that when people sue people who assaulted them, it doesn't mean it's just a cash grab. We're putting way too much trust in the police and the system when it comes to cases like these when we know damn well what the police and system do, especially for Black Women.
