Wiley has so much integrity, could have made so much more money if he was mainstream or pop but stayed in Grime to keep the genre alive. People should pay more homage to him, he doesn't get the credit he deserves, he is one of the most influential British musicians. Big ups this guy, so much respect for him so selfless. Wiley is the GOAT 🔥❄🐐🔥🔥🔥🔥

@@jacobjacob7384 difference is he openly admits he did that to make money to put back into grime - other artists did it for themselves and tried to paint it like that was the type of music they wanted to make at that time anyway. also the 2 main times he went pop he got a number 1 and a number 2 and then a number 1 with rolldeep so if he wanted to just make money he probably could've made pop his whole career and had consistent hits cos he knows how to do it - his integrity is that he's always kept doing grime throughout his whole career whether he's done a couple pop tunes or not. thats not selling out to me

Obviously he didn't just put all that money he made from his pop music back into the grime scene.. are you mad?? 😂 what platforms has he created or invested in for other people to benefit from in the last 5 years? I'm not trying to deny that he's helped people, but to say that the only reason he sold out was so he could put money into the grime scene is ridiculous

Damn, I love Wiley! But sometimes feel he's a little too reckless with the things he says. (Or maybe, not the things itself but how and when he says them) But this is a really solid interview and he summarises it perfectly. Great stuff!

My only problem with modern grime is that all the electronic elements are basically gone and now it just sounds like American trap with a slightly more complex flow, ya know? Miss when beats were things like Morgue, Punch In The Face, Stop Dat, etc. Filthy basslines and aggressive rhythms that make you bob your head, not wanna dance.
