All the other DJs in the competition forgot the most important component. Musicality. They were so focused on scratching, being fancy, and playing with the music, they forgot to keep a steady flow going. I'm glad there are still DJs who care about the music as well as the manipulation. Keep on keepin' on Brace!
I'm 47 years old and that is hands down the best turntablism routine I have ever heard. Genuinely gobsmacked at the level of technical skill and creativity. Fuck, I need to lie down GOD DAMN
I like the fact that this is funky. Most scratching be seeming like DJs who just want to scratch the fastest without paying zero attention to rhythm and honestly just making noise.
Hottest routine ive ever heard. Just came back after like 3 years... this is still the god damn gold standard for me. So fluid and musical the whole time. Killer shit.
I agree. DMC is bullshit now, all just young people scratching the records like they've got fleas. Sounds like the black-box recording of a plane crash. This; however, is actually ear-friendly and head-bop-able.
Whoa. I'm from the REAL old school, 1980s east coast. I've literally never seen anyone rock two decks like this. Makes me wonder who are the 400 losers who gave this video a thumbs down?
When you're a DJ yourself but you can't quite keep up with how Brace is doing this all in a musical package... THAT'S why I keep comin back to watch this!!! Genius.
this really set the gold standard for DMC routines and turntablism as a whole. still untouched. nobody has even come close to a set this tight, let alone this creative.
Damn listening to Ancient Astronauts-still a soldier, and was like man where is this fire sample from I know I’ve heard it somewhere then it hit me all at once… Came back to watch the set again after all these years and it still makes my eyes water. Such a perfectly executed routine.
This is genuinely the best routine I've ever personally watched. Absolute perfection, technique was amazing, everything lined up perfectly, not a single slipped beat, beat juggling was perfect and sounded natural, scratching with the guitar was eargasm. Most importantly though, it sounded like music and not just like a load of random noises like when the pro DMC DJs do it. If you'll excuse me I'm gonna watch it again.
@@20thcenturyfoxy55 rafik, lig one and C2c also drop these more fluid , musical kinda routines. For a few years everyone just thought u needed a Le Jad beat 😂
Holy feck. This is the first time in 20 or so years I've seen/heard a turntablist really move things on from where Q-bert took the scene in the mid-90s. Genuinely awesome.
At 44yrs old I've seen a lot of DJ mixes from early 90's until now - This is 'THE' best DJ mix I've ever. If it's not then send me the link to what better because I've never seen it. This set as hit all - The music flows, skills are unreal, beat juggling that actually sounds good and as for the mixer/slider thing on the WTF is that? The perfect set. #No1....FACT!!
Yep, def. But I think you'll agree that this dude is up to par - especially minding his age: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-W8adSFUmdiY.html
I've not seen DMC finals stuff since about 2001...this might just be the greatest thing I've ever seen on the Internet. Unreal skills, innovation and talent off the chart. Take a bow sir....mind blown. Liked, shared, commented.
I've watched this routine repeatedly over the last few weeks. There's so much tech and variety it's damn impressive. The fretless fader is next level I hope to see more of it in future DMCs. Congrats man
Absolutly blown away ive been watching these dmc championships from 94 and this is the best ive ever seen scratching is inbelievable , your a turntable genius.
Without question one of the most creative efforts across the decks for any turntablist. Great work Brace, you hard work to perfect your craft will inspire many to come.
Wow... I am in awe... and a little stunned by what I've just watched, absolute MURDER on those decks my man. You take it to a whole new level, mastery doesn't even cover it... haha I loved the "I'll whoop that ASS" sample, slipped in there in there, in the midst of some other deck defying display... murdered it right there, the fretless fader and wah peddle where just absolutely out of this world.. the creativity on display here is mind numbing.
I Dj'ed house and techno back in the day but you sir are a masterful Dj and I could never pull that kind of stuff off ever and that's one of the best DMC sets I've seen, fantastic job.
People wonder what happiness is....being capable of doing this-and doing it beside the ocean would seriously - for me, bring me inner peace and fulfilment. Even if nobody ever seen it.
This is the first time Ive seen this, and now I see what all the talk was about! That routine was crazy dope! Technicality and Musicality, Nice flow. I can watch this over and over.
Since when did Calvin Harris become a DJ? hahahah. He is a producer and a singer, not a fucking DJ. Hilton probably gets paid WAY more then any other DJ just because its good publicity to have her playing. In other words, she have more fans then most DJs, therefore she can charge more.
ok what i meant was without fact checking is that Brace and many others are seriously talented while fakers like Paris Hilton are getting $1m USD per gig, wheres the fucking justice man! who looks at a flyer & goes holy fuck Paris is playing tonight its gunna rock!! haha
The groove is perfect, real hip hop , the samples are very nice , the cuts bring it to gether, rhymes , i wish it over this perfect breaks. thank you very much
I have DJ'd for 20 years before digital. I still use Digital and my 1200's. Regardless this set is flawless. I have sent this link to all the DJ's I now in H-Town. All over. They respect your style and innovation. As do I. Keep it moving. Best set Iv'e ever seen. Keep turntablisum alive!!!!!!
He is also one of the great guy who did beautiful turntablism! He's also a DJ who has created a routine that aims to perfectly combine scratching and pitch control.
ClectaSkiMusic yep he called to see how the night before and said I'm getting ready to do a mixtape video and I want you to make sure you drop by and I'll give you some bird seed for for payment
cONfUSiOUz Its a difference between a viral video and keeping it going for a long time. There is always far less people in turntablism contest then on a Miley Cyrus concert.
Yes of course. And thank god for that honestly. Damn, never thought I'd see the words viral and DJ Brace in the same sentence. I'm glad though. I definatively hope he wins this.
def a whole other level of live DJ manipulation + instrumentation. Done so flawlessly if you weren't watching it, you'd think it was a studio creation.
I have been djing for a few years now ...watched countless dj scratch battles over the years And have to say this guy is by far the greatest I have ever seen!!!! The flow of the set is absolutely perfect the whole musical performance is subliminal . Playing those decks like someone that has practiced his whole life Like a musician that has mastered their instrument to perfection I bow and tip my hat my friend
Subscribed, I've watched this video at least 10 times so far and are still amazed, everything is so well balanced and you're making it look so easy ^^ RESTECP going out from Denmark!
@djBrace I loved this end-to-end creation. Interviews of you elsewhere were missed-opportunities, never asking you to start from the beginning of this creation, and methodically waking us through the Composition, the Arrangements, The Production, The Melodic selections (just like dreaming up a new song) and so on, so that we could appreciate the level and diversity of effort to essentially create this new song. Not just boring scratching. More questions never asked: How did you gain and practice your 4-way independence? How did you gain and practice your finger (on turntable) to thumb (on mixer) dexterity? Etc. All unanswered elsewhere. ☹️ I'm more interested in the end-to-end entire musical creation, which is excellent and highlights your true talent. Should you return to read this comment, feel feel to reach out. I'd love to talk about it. 🎊☺️
Growing up listening to DJ's from the 80s and 90s, this is wicked. This is how it should be done. I've watched so many other "winning" routines that just sound like somebody decided to lay on top of their turntables and have a seizure before I found this that, from beginning to end, has you nodding your head like "damn!"
Its so funny when you lost everything about this. But remembered there was a dude with the beach at his back amd totally flying like crazy. Glad i found u again! I searched for dj beach in the background i think that was the go to
