I recently worked as a Stagehand doing Backline for Elton John for his MPLS shows. As the concert was doing a five song encore I was being replaced for putting away the instruments right after the show ends. I’m placed by the crew chief about 25 feet behind Elton and instructed to “Stand Here and Stay Here” while he and the other stagehand put some stuff away. So I get to see Elton Perform Crocodile Rock and Saturday Night, right in front of me, brilliant. Then another stagehand on a headset informs me that I need to move because I’m in Eltons camera shot. I replied “Are you telling me, that me, in the white tour t-shirt you gave me, that I am upstaging Elton Effing John!?"

Been listening to this for over a year now, and it still does not cease to amaze me. Such a perfect blend of two generations' anthems. Maybe some parents would've found a better connection to their kids through this. What I wanna say is, other mash-up artists find songs to "flow" together, but DJ Cummerbund every so often manages to merge and even magnify the "message" and significane of two (or more) songs. Ooooh yeah! Dig it!
