NUMARK PT 01 SCRATCH THE VIDEO IS OUT OF SYNC WITH LESS THAN SECOND DJ NOT EAZY, 30TH DECEMBER, 2016. OUTSIDE, ON THE BALCONY, 2 DEGREES... / djnoteazy
hahaha, i should have started selling these then :D it's cool man, i enjoy it but i still prefer to rock my proper setup at home, maybe its just because i have better mixer there, this amx feels a bit too small but does the job on the portable side :)
yo freal I was already planning on getting that 'miniature' setup with 2 numark pt01's and the akai amx too! Just need 1 more pt01 and 2 serato 7" control records. Got the akai amx already and replaced my current mixer with that on my turntable setup. Dope video!
thanks! if you plan to mix real records maybe it is worth to check newer models that have better needles and tonearms because mine are now modified and it hits the pocket :)
This videos is what made me want & get this same set up However Im having a problem with the DVS EXPANSION The program is installed,i purchased the DVS UPGRADE,checked my account and both are ACTIVATED, but I’m no sound from the serato control surface Any help with issue will be GREATLY APPRECIATED BY THE WAY GREAT MIX LOVE THE CHOICE IN MUSIC 👌🏼👍🏼
can you mix like breakbeat music on them and get a good sound from these needles or its more for scratching/turntablists? is this akai mixer standalone or it should be used with laptop only?
hello, very GOOD. what tracks do you use at minute 4 and at minute 5:06. to that of rush I place it, the others that are instrumental. Thanks and Regards from Catamarca, Argentina.
Thats dope man! I got the handy trax and pt01 skratch. Never tried this set up. How u beatmatch with this? Can u use the software to adjust the tempo? Cuz i control the tempo from my 1200s when using my serato remote.
True and it's cheaper and more effective with the belt drive. Direct drive would probably put the price up,plus the turntable would be a bit heavier. What's bugging me the most - and it seems to be the only problem with the pt01 being a belt drive - is no start/stop button. It's an easy mod, ofc, but it's somewhat a necessity for scratchers,so to me it's mind bending as to why they didn't put it in the first place. Other than that, and being a wee bit costly (I think it should not cost more than 100$) - pt01 is fkn awesome. I use pt01 in combo with sp 404sx and kaossilator btw
Belts are super cheap and easy to change out, and its really the only thing you can wreck. Holding a mix on the other habd is not an easy thing with these belts
I want to get 2 Numark Pto1 scratching tables can I use my Stanton p201 mixer I have 2 Stanton tables now do you rock serato on that computer and can you help if I get this set up thanks Jim
Hi, Nice set🔥! Do you still need a DJ interface? I have one of these turntables that I want to play through Serato (will cut a dvs down) and I have this Akai mixer/ SL3. Do I need the SL3 for the set up to work, or only the Akai mixer and the Serato dvs vinyl (no SL3 interface)? Thanks for answering in advance. Peace from DC!
Thanks! No, you don't need SL3, the mixer has it all built in, so the chain is turntable -> akai amx -> laptop. But you need to buy the dvs plugin for serato dj to be able to use timecodes. If you have for example Rane 72 mixer or something similar that unlocks the dvs option then you don't need to buy anything, otherwise 99$ for the plugin... hope this helps!
You 100% answered my question thank you so so much. I have an SL3 and I’m wondering if I should keep this or try to sell it since mixers are much more advanced now for turntables. Anyways, seriously thank you you helped me end weeks of research 🔥🤣
@@jelllyprty1207 , hmm, I'm not sure how this will work because the AMX is usb powered, SL3 also needs to go to the usb which may result in some kind of conflict but nothing stops you of trying, its just this 99$ bucks that you have to pay at the end.... :|
Hi there. This is really a very cool setup. I'm also looking for a setup like this. Could you explain to me, do you need the serato dj dvs expansion kit for this to work with the numark PT01? Also can this work with 12" vinyl? Will I be able to nudge the platter if I use a 12" vinyl when I want to beatmatch? Sorry I'm a newbie and I would like to learn how to scratch at a budget. Thank you for the great video.
So how long do you have this setup? Any issues with the PT01? I had looked up on the internet and there were speed issues with the platter after a few months of playing? So do you encounter any issue so far? Let me confirm again the setup. You will need to connect the 2 PT01 to the AKAI AMX and the mixer to the laptop just like if you have a normal setup correct? And is is difficult to beatmatch on the PT01s since there is some speed difference? Thanks for the great replies.
I have tried to use 12s and I do not recommend it. The code itself works like a charm, the issue lies in the weight of the record... it plays a significant role in the physics, not nearly as responsive as a proper 7" cut. I have heard about modding the belt for "extra torque" but I haven't tried it to confirm if it will help much. Serato offers a ThudRumble CV double pack that has battle tools pressed on the backside.
I use a 7 plus and I think it’s fine but the 6 is smaller so I guess it depends on your eyesight. The browse function works on the AMX making track selection easy.
That's a similar setup to what I want, but I would probably put a Reloop Neon in front of each deck and put it all in a road/flight case. The cost though really makes a controller like the new Serato - Mixars Primo or the Rekordbox - Pioneer DDJ-RR seem more feasible. Otherwise getting a direct drive turntable setup with a pair of Reloop RP8000 straight arm decks or maybe 1 S arm and 1 straight and a NI Traktor Kontrol Z2 and Denon DS1 would be my dream setup. This combo would let me dabble in NI Traktor Scratch Pro DVS, Serato DJ DVS and even Pioneer's Rekordbox DVS.
The Numark PT-01 Scratch would be fun just having 1 and using the built in toggle switch or changing it to the Jesse Dean PT-01 fader which is currently in beta or the Mixfader bluetooth midi LE crossfader with edJing Scratch app or DJ Player Pro to use as a standalone DVS solution without the need for a licensed Serato or Traktor audio interface. Alternately playing with the Stokyo Kutter or Raiden RXI-F1 Innofader Mini would be fun too.
You are not going to think of buying Mixars Primo, Pioneer DDJ-RR or any other all-in-one wack-ass controller if you are a real dj and going play records and do some scratching and turntablism. Otherwise there is no sense for you to get neither normal turntables, nor portable turntables. Get yourself cdjs or one of the mentioned controllers. And there is no sense in getting a setup that is capable of working with various dvs systems. Get the Z2 only if you are going with Traktor or maybe with Rekordbox. If you decide to go with Serato, for the price of Z2 + Denon DS1 you can probably get a Mixars Duo or even a used Rane 62. Guess there is no need to explain why this would be a much better option for Serato. Peace
you can use DJ Player with any iOS device, you will only need to provide a powered hub for the AMX to function. it works well with Serato control vinyl. I have an iPad Pro but actually enjoy using my iPhone to run DJ Player, its amusing. I have just discovered a decent portable power bank is built into several speakers from Ion Audio, they claim 50 hours for the "Tailgater Flash" that I purchased. I actually use it to power the hub. A totally portable PA solution. I think there's a bigger model that has line out for chaining additional speakers.
Do you need to connect to two different speakers? i have one pt01 and this answered a lot od questions i had but can't see what everything is connected to. great job my dude
i was thinking about getting this setup since I already have serato and a pt01 scratch. I know it is not as good as 1200s. any cons? thanx for sharing this video
Yup, it does the job, I did it a couple of times. If you don't need all functions of the S9 then you are good to go. It is just the output is a little bit lower than regular mixer but still ok.
Hi, I have the same setup and I wonder how put you the cue marker on the tactile button, I mean it's not basicaly mapped plug and play on the AMX in serato DJ. Thanks!
Unfortunately not analog, cannot work as a standalone mixer. The innofader is typically good but I feel like cut is a tad soft ...like the cut-in lag is tight, but the cuts don't sound crisp. I actually switched over to a mixfader last weekend to compare, the cuts sounded much cleaner (and confirmed I wasn't imagining it lol). It's still a pretty great little mixer, no doubt.
Borislav Yordanov . So no matter how sloppy you are...the needle never jumps, or should say the song never jumps. I'm just messing with you bro, it was a nice set. Are they pretty robust those turntables, kinda looks fragile.
@@goodvibemusicstation , a friend of mine just told me that he is selling his Akai AMX and AFX with DVS pack included. If you are looking to buy the mixer this will great deal. The DVS pack itself is 99$... Let me know if you are interested
Hi, these are 12" Serato records but I've cut them to 7" by hand. What type of records you need? I might have an option for you. Msg me on facebook.com/noteazy
I'm using it with Serato DJ. I'm not sure if you can use the mixer with other software because that was never my intention, so you will have to make your research. BUT, for using the mixer with turntables (DVS) you need to pay $99 to unlock this feature in Serato DJ. I guess if it works with other software you will also have to pay for it. Let me know if you have more questions :) V
@@djnoteazy @illpee01 Yes, the AMX should also work with Traktor (if you have a license around). There is a full Traktor mapping from DJ Estrela on DJ Tech Tools. So you have the same, just with Traktor. But the challenge to make your own 7" vinyls out of 12" ones :-D
@@NewElectronicFrontier , on this video I'm using 7" cut by myself, it wasn't that hard as I expected but yeah, Serato has real 7", I don't understand why Traktor didn't make one for so many years...
@@djnoteazy Me neither... I mean the Portablist movement is not really new in 2020 :-D How did you do yours? Marking 7" - drilling holes - sanding off the rest? Or any other process? AND: totally missed in the first place: great performance. Wish I would be at this point...
