Nothing could take away the respect I have for Quik and his accomplishments. What I respect the most is he is not afraid to try something new. Quik sounds like a west coast Outkast on this one.

It's 2017 and this came out two years ago, and to this day DJ Quik is STILL applying his rhyme and craft to storytelling with a beat. ALOT of rappers today should be picking this man's brain and start transforming into artists instead of claiming rapper status.

But real talk quik albums are all classics Safe + sound balance & options rythm-al-lism under tha influence are one of the dopest album that i still bump in my ride my 2015 suburban with 3 15' Kicker Comp making car alarms go off when i pass by :) .. people give dre props but i think quik belongs up there with him

Definitely inspired me growing up..I got to record in his old spot once where Eazy-E, Pac, Scarface and a ton of other cats had recorded..I'm glad to hear this song with that old DJ Quik sound! Ive talked to many people on the east coast, and most of them don't give a flying fuck about no dj quik or even know who he is. The only other place outside of cali that he gets love in is detroit. people on the east coast generally don't give much of a fuck about west coast artist to begin with.

I personally know Dave(Quik). I even was on his Safe and Sound album. I didn't do much on there. He's a nice person and deserves wayyy more credit in the music industry. My lil sister Danielle(r.i.p) introduced me to him and Hi-C back in the 80's (before he was famous). He hasn't changed. He's quite a producer.
