The production on The Midnight Life is great and a lot of that has to do with the little, subtle things (in my opinion). Just listen to how crisp & clean the drums and horns are on this track, for example. Such a slept-on album!
Dammm Quik is a genius he always was and always be! Each of his album are differents but each of them is a muscial trip around the world! Mix gangsta lyrics with r'n'b musique, you are the One Quik, so bad the world is just not ready yet for you because the are way much better than anyone in the music industry!!!!!
This dude knows his craft. He is one of those cats blessed to be on time, but ahead of his time and underated. He has an excellent comprehension of musicality and instruments. A player (musician) can really respect and appreciate this composer...Quik is his name. I could have stood for even more instruments in the track, but its swift mane
I like DJ Quik because he's what everyone gives Dr. Dre credit for... Dr. Dre gets too much credit when Quik has just as much production power if not a lot more.

Oh DJ Quik, every time people tell me the rap game is gone to shit I point them in your direction. Love this track and the whole album is fucking incredible.
Not complaining at all but how has the sound quality gone down since the 90's? Believe me DJ Quik is the greatest of all time but the sound seems so different? If anybody could answer this question it would be Quik. Wish he would speak on it.
Its funny he gave Diddy and Drake a shoutout in the last verse and talk about chillin together with them.I don't think them two will be chillin nowhere after Diddy just recently punched Drake in the face at a nightclub lol
