Dont care what anyone says, Quik is one of the GOATs, not only of west coast hip hop but hip hop in general. Its crazy how much he's overlooked by the general public, the guy could rap, produce, and even play instruments, one of the most versatile rappers ever. This album is still one of my favorite of all time and this song is one of the reasons.

@@SJ-tx5go 🥴 “DJ” Quik came out when I was about 10, so going by his name, I thought he was just a “dee-jay” who put out an album. 😂 I’m from The Dirty South, so we didn’t pay much attention to the West Coast outside of Dre, Snoop, and Pac. We have our own legends, like OutKast and UGK. The day I wrote this post, a Quik song had popped on my feed. That caused me to start digging into his discography. It took me 30 years to find out this man is a MUSICIAN, not just a dee-jay or rapper. 🤦🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️ #shameonme 😂
My favourite Quik groove since a lot of time... All others are really great too, but this one is a timeless piece of art. Dj Quik is one of the most incredible producer ever
The only rapper i'm listing to for some time now. Dj Quik is the realest artist in the game. He's so prolific, talented and versatile. He can go to g funk, to jazz melodies like here to talk box to straight rap. U nevertheless get annoyed when u listen to a Dj Quik's track. I'm getting to know his huge work more. I'm starting to listen to the trauma album, the midnight life album which are different than the others. Of course, I am crazy about 2nd II None and the late Mausberg. Anyway if u don't know Dj Quik it's time to give him a chance !✌🏽️👍🏽😀😀🎼🎼🎼
O Jay the flow is too smooth for the American lineup. This either goes with the Japanese lineup buying a Skyline GTR, or the German lineup buying an AMG Benz. Lol
2pac Yes he is. My dads oldest brother. He’s my biggest inspiration. Didn’t even graduate highschool and so successful. Truly chased his dreams & he’s definitely doing what he loves!
I won my first talent show off this track in 8th grade back in 96' this a true classic and will always be one of my favorite tracks till im outta here. #QuiksDaName #Safe&Sound 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🏁
Most complete rap artist period!!! I mean….the sounds, the instruments, the smoothness of this melody. This man is seriously the GOAT. Greatest producer period! Just a straight up musical genius. I’m in awe. I literally almost wanna cry to this beautiful melodic masterpiece. 🙏🙏🙏👑👑👑
This is the reason why DJ QUIK is my favorite producers!!!! The craftsmanship of each "groove" If you don't love music I don't know what's wrong with you
everybody's entitled to their opinion but whoever the 4 cats that thumbed down this needs their heads examined, or their ears cleaned, DJ Quik is one of the most underrated and unappreciated producers in the game, 2nd to Dr. Dre as far as west coast producers and that track there is so damn smooth, I can imagine Boney James rocking off of this if it was longer!!
@@k-baye6292 Imo Dre has an ear that can't be matched. Even other producers on occasion mimic his style until I looked on credits for the 2001 album I thought The message was him and it's Lord Finesse but it sounds just like Dre produced it.
Bam Bam, "Summer breeze". "something for the mood". "it's your fantasy" are my fav tracks on this album. and as a whole, this is his best album, imo. rythmalism is a close second
Those 18 people who disliked have no souls ... Props to the legendary DJ Quik a true legend a real musician . So underated.. this gives me goosebumps . West coast vibe
some smooth jazz type groove....timeless! and I'm a NYC dude who always appreciated Quicks grooves when his music never got play here on the east coast...well at least not here in NYC...Quick is a hip hop legend to me! much props!
Bx-Alejandro I've always known everybody from NYC was biased about west coast hip hop how can you be biased on that right there? It's cool to hear someone from NY giving props to this, much love bro
This could've easily been in rotation at smooth jazz stations. DJ Quik could also pull off a Razamatazz album like Guru did, and spit over some jazzy tracks.
This could have come off an Earl Klugh or George Besnon album from the 70s! ‘Quik’s Groove III’ is one of those remarkable tracks that sticks with you and touches a heart chord. It doesn’t just speak loads about Quik’s musical genius or prowess, but it reflects his positive, laid back persona and showcases his abilities not just as a rapper or producer, but as a brother with a real discerning ear and truly sophisticated (and eclectic!) choice of music! Says a lot! A legend in my books. Love and respect!
Back on 2014 this was the only song I really listened to. I was about graduate and all I could think of was what I was going to do with my life afterwards while listening to this
🌹⚘THANK'S, FOR THIS INCREDIBLE,FASCINATING MUSICAL EXPERIENCE THAT WAS MADE SO BEAUTIFULLY AND RELAXING, D.J "COMPTON " QUIK. WE ❤ YOUR WONDERFUL MUSICAL TALENT AND PERFORMANCES. ✌☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️💜🎵🎶🎶🎶🎶
You can hear and feel the growth in the Craftsmanship. And I’m not talking about the genre tweaking. It’s the timing and placement of each instrument. from one producer to another, I am really impressed. Quik’s 3 shows the mastery of the craft, but I still like the instruments that were used in quick groves 2 a little better. Weeks three is the more complete and more well rounded of the three.. Only downside is, the song sounds like eight count loops and no solo rifting. I give it a strong 7/10 👍🏽💯
