Shout out to Texas. I moved there for 4 years from North Carolina and they showed me so much love. I went from listening to Pastor Troy to jammin on Screw.
Not from Texas but I bang Screw & The S.U.C. Pimp C, Hawk, Moe, Pat, Thugga, Ro, Keke, Paul Wall, all the Houston rappers, and I still bang Ghetto Boys at that especially Willie D. Houston has some of the best rap/hip hop in my opinion. The rest is bullshit music that dosent have any substance. Long live the Pimp and the other H town rappers
If they copyrighted or trademarked the term "Screwed" with music they'd make a killing. Everytime someone drops the term "Screwed and Chopped", thats money in their pocket
I was Born in Austin Tx and Never left.. I was raised in the 90s ima 80s baby and EVERYBODY I knew was listening to SCREW'S Music and Freestyling SCREW Tapes and CD's and Never turned the radio on.. MAN I miss those days!

To me...honestly DJ Screw is probably the person I look up to most in hiphop. As a matter of fact, I would prolly say he's my idol. People don't give the credit where it's due. Look, I'm not even from Houston, but to me, DJ screw came from a small town that had zero opportunity, came from a hard working family (shoutout poppa screw), and with nothing but a turntable and a genius ear literally turned nothing into something. The man believed in himself and got so many boys off the streets who would've either end up in dead or in prison, and pushed them to come out with the hottest and craziest flows and freestyles the world as ever seen, to create the signature H town sound. Self made, when you hear screw you KNOW it's screw. He innovated his own sound, there is only one screw there will never be another. I've paid so much getting screw tapes and CDs and records to Montreal just because of how much he means to me. I know he's looking down at all of us Bangin screw, when it wasn't about money, it was all about screw on the 1s and 2s and all the legendary natural freestyles. We miss you screw. SUC for life!!!
From AZ been bumping Screw since 2000. R.I.P to The Legend The Myth Robert Earl Davis JR. Aka DJ. SCREW. Forever the best there ever was. What he did for music and his skill w a record and mixing is phenomenal. Never could it be mastered as well as the master and creator of this style. Candy paint that escalade and this man music going in the trunk.. R.i.p 🙏🙏🙏

I'm 30 so born in 85 and grew up in Huntsville, as a young white boy we were so blessed to have a record store called The Ear Doctor!!! From 94-2000something we got so much good mixed tapes and so much screw from there. The freestyle kingz were holdin it down in Huntsville and shit was going down at the ballroom! Anyone remember the ballroom or the ear Doctor?
man If I had the funds, I would fund a movie of DJ screw life. that man was the shit and made Houston to be in the charts and also made alot of people famous, let alone millions of dollars that they make, they owe their success to screw.

Everytime you here that DEEP VOICE in some music.. eff u, pay me. trust me it shows up everywhere. "You can bet that, never gotta sweat that" for example
This man is so phenomenal cause he really pioneered a voice and changed a culture , while doing what he loved that shit makes him so raw Screw living on through all this time. I’m young but I recognize great music deeper. Love for H-Town beginning frm SC.
I'm 45 now. I started listening to dj screw music in 2001 from a homie, name Tad Davis, He picked up the H Town music from hanging out there, running back and forward. And I been hook on it since, but I can't deny chopping to. Chop plus Screw. Dam !!!!!!!!!!!!!
