Nice tutorial vidoes i have come across in a long time. Would have liked it more if you could explain how to play around with the mixer knobs at the right time . Cutting the base at the right time. Also please let me know if you have a video on how to mix two genre like hiphop and techno with variable tempo . I know i am asking a lot
Hey do you have any idea what to do if the phrase structure of the second track is not the same as the structure of the track you want to mix in. I don’t know what to do then if the phrases don’t fit, this happens if I want to mix in earlier instead of always doing intro outro. Great lesson
You can't talk about Phrase mixing without taking about the key. If the keys clash then phrase mixing would not sound good. So you have to blend tracks with keys that compliment each other; otherwise known as harmonic mixing.

Very well explained. However some songs come in on the second bar. What’s the best way to mix in these songs, as it will throw the whole mix out of phrase if you use the method you explained? Or is there a way to trim these songs in the DJ software so that they can start on the first bar?

Hello sir Dj Deep Bharma, Do professional Djs still counting? Do u still count when playing in event? Next ahm how do u count? or there is a proper? cause i get used to count 4 (8 Beats) that equals to 1phrase right? im counting like 1-8, 8-1(2x). i find it hard counting like in that RB screen 1234 2234 3234 and so on, like that. Lastly, what is that yellow box connecting your DDJ-400 to your Laptop? Thank you!! hope u notice me :D
No. Professional DJs don't count. After some Experience you just hear the changes and counting is automatic in the head. There is no proper way if Counting. Just count according to how you understand bro. And the yellow think is nothing but a wire organiser.

Its easy to count the phrases from the beginning of a track. But how can I know them when I am 3 minutes in the track and want to play another track now?
Interesting. It comes with practice. As I mentioned. Something changes every 32nd beat. So listen for these changes and just when it changes you can start your counting 😇
A phrase can also be when a new element of the song its introduce like a break or a vocal or a new chorus. Or a build up. You can mix whetever you want in those parts also there is another important thing depending on the length of the song if you mix a Song that its half time with one that is the double speed the phrase of the one that its double speed is gonna start probably before. So you can fade out more quickly or more slower
Didn’t know this had a name. I’ve been mixing like this for 40 years. Good for the newbies, but this will only work for dance music. You won’t get 32 bars to mix with from other genres.
Music its simple math. At te end of a phrase or its added a new instrument,a breack or a chorus,thats why we should add the new track at that timing,like its a new instrument or sound added to the track.Other wise it would sound off!
