I have no idea how you installed Django onto the ipad.. That is the only reason why I came here and as the video starts you say that “I already have it installed”

Hmm...after creating the project, when I run “django-admin startapp testapp” nothing happens. No “testapp” directory is created.

is Django installed?
@JeffHeinenCFI
@JeffHeinenCFI 4 года назад
SATSifaction Yes, and using django-admin to create the project worked. It failed on creating the app.

I get the error ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'testproject' when adding the line of code to manage.py
@SATSifaction
@SATSifaction 4 года назад
You have to add testproject to your setting file under apps
@SATSifaction
@SATSifaction 4 года назад
Then the import path may be incorrect. Check to see the file structure is the same. This will impact your import statements

INSTALLED_APPS = [ 'django.contrib.admin', 'django.contrib.auth', 'django.contrib.contenttypes', 'django.contrib.sessions', 'django.contrib.messages', 'django.contrib.staticfiles', 'testapp', 'testproject', ]

Still getting the same error

You don’t need testproject in there. Just the app

Have you tried building a Django app on the iPad that also uses MySQL or PostgreSQL?

Is there any possibility to run sql in iPad
@SATSifaction
@SATSifaction 3 года назад
Yes you can but your database would need to sit on a remote server somewhere. You obviously wouldnt want to host a do from your ipad

Upon following the video line for line when I go to my URL it tells me that it can not open the page because it can’t connect to the server. I’m not sure where I’ve messed up at.
@SATSifaction
@SATSifaction 4 года назад
Are you connecting to the right port? Should be 8000 in this case
@wyo307cowboy3
@wyo307cowboy3 4 года назад
SATSifaction Yeah, I found the issue. It was in Working Copy. I guess i need to go in there and commit the changes before it was letting me connect to the server. But now I’m trying to follow Djangos directions on building the poll application as that’s going to be kinda where my final project is going to end up and now I’m receiving a ModuleNotFoundError where its not recognizing the project. Damn thing is going to kick my ass before the end of the day I’m afraid.

@@jackzero_one9092 Nah, iPad is pretty good if you have the money to buy it. It’s not an replacement of the laptop but it is Great on its own category. Usually people own iPad Pro already have kick ass laptop or desktop. But you are right, if you are on budget, iPad is not for you.
