I AGREE! This things hits all the buttons I looked for. One cool feature. You don’t have to unplug the receiver to listen to playback like I had to when using the Saramonic mics. Also no dangling cables. And the screen is nice and bright. The whole design is flawless! And I paid for these. Not provided for being an influencer. I stand by this review!
Great video! I have the new set and they work great. I tip on the gray dead cat I took a Sharpie black permanent marker and brushed it with the marker for a minute and now it's basically solid black. After a minute of two its permanent and won't come of and it looks great now.
Great video. I have the old version. I struggle with switching from my action 4 to the ZV E10. When i edit the audio levels are different. Being able to select the camera would be nice.
I was in a coma a few years ago and came out with a very low voice. I'm new so I don't want to go and spend crazy money. Right now I am taking the 1k challenge. I still can't even make a thumbnail and I'm not tech Savvy. All I have is several videos published and all only on crappy Android phone! I spend a lot of time at home and Drs. I really enjoyed this video, you are very relatable, you made me want to buy! But I have to learn to walk before I can run, literally ! Kudos !🎉❤
Agreed. Returning mine and going to go with rode instead. Turned off low cut like a lot of people recommended, but it still just sounds tinny and no amount of post editing was able to make it sound good.
Thank you for this video. I have used this mic system and it is pretty dope! How about this though.. A team of assassins going viral making "killer" content. Sound interesting? You tell me :)
I use that mic the pocket 3 for my content but I don’t feel I’ve been getting the best audio I feel it could be doing I don’t know what I need to do I’m still new to everything. Another thing should I be recording in stereo or mono?
No mentioning of the 32 bit float backuo recording not being possible, and no noise cancellation, when connected to smartphone via bluetooth? ans bluetooth quality being not great … And that the receiver can’t be connected to the phone if you use a slightly thick case - there is a surprising solution to the case thickness issue, since receiver can be connected to iphone with usb c cable through the back charging port of the receiver … made a video on my channel about the bluetooth/32 bit float situation, and a new video coming up about the usb c cable trick ++
Couple things here: I own the DJI Mic 2 and sound quality-wise, I'm pretty disappointed. That said, gotta debunk some stuff: * The lack of Noise Cancellation via Bluetooth is a bummer. But if you need the noise cancellation, you can accomplish it by plugging the receiver into your phone via USB-C, Lightning, or 1/8" jack. * I use a UAG case for my Pixel 7 Pro - it's massive - and I can connect the receiver into my phone with the case no problem. The design of the receiver's USB-C adapter actually gives a decent amount of room between the phone and the receiver to account for case size. Compared - say - to the Rode Video Micro where the USB-C connector is flush with the bottom of the Microphone and does NOT fit, the DJI Mic 2 receiver's USB-C connector gives a lot more room. I'm sure some cases prevent this, but the UAG case is probably the bulkiest case I've ever seen for the Pixel 7 Pro, and the receiver fits fine. Picking the right case for your tech is as important as making sure the tech you use is compatible with your case. * Regarding Bluetooth quality - I'm not so sure this is a DJI "problem" as much as it is a limitation of Bluetooth Wireless. Bluetooth wireless introduces some severe audio quality degradation. I'd love to hear of another mic the size/budget of the DJI Mic 2 that provides objectively better BT Wireless quality. Not a dig here, I'm legitimately curious so I can refine my own understanding.
@@HeyMaxNeal I use the otterbox defender case and there is no way it fits, but using a usb c to c cable out the back works, so workaround, not perfect, but works. Bluetooth on iphone is worse than android because of aac codec, android uses a slightly better codec, but not the high end ldac codec on the receiver. Plugging the receiver into the phone was kind of what one wants to avoid if trying to run a sleek on the go setup, and the point of bluetooth is to avoid the receiver - better option is to just run internal recording and sync in post, but that introduces more work - the issue is *why* internal recording and noise cancellation is disabled, since it obviously doesn need the receiver since it works in offline mode for the transmitter. So combined this is annoying, dealbreaking for some, not for others. bad bluetooth audio wouldn’t be as bad if the internal recording worked, but it doesn’t, which is a bummer - there are workaround, but I see no reason why that would be necessary, unless for some reason they are using the bluetooth chip for internal recording or it’s a completely separate circuit. The annoyance here is that with a couple of tweakes the dji mic 2 could have been better, which causes frustration, also when dji tries to hide the shortcomings, like in their anniuncement ad (the tiny grey text at the bottom referring to a generic read our product page where they also do their damndest to hide it - not a good look :)
@@professionaI_yapper the receiver that you connect to the phone can be connected to a computer via the usb c in the back of the computer and used to receive wireless audio from the transmitter/mic to your computer, and also on the phone :) The mic on the other hand cannot be connected directly through usb to a computer since it behaves like a external drive to be able to get the recordings :)
@@professionaI_yapper in addition: if you connect the dji mic 2 to an iphone via usb c it appears as an external drive, and you can record video directly to the mic’s storage from blackmagic app …
Problem is you can’t turn on the 32 bit float recording without the receiver, so you have to have one of those as well … and you can’t do 32 bit float backup recording if connected with bluetooth to smartphone, made a video about it, it has some issues that dji need to resolve
Are you able to hear the audio on a recorded video on an iPhone while the DJI Mic 2 wireless receiver is attached via lightning adapter to the iPhone? Or do you have to detach the receiver first to be able to hear a recoded video?
Glad to see some of the comments because I received my Mic 2 yesterday - played around with it. It's nice, but it's not that much of an upgrade for how I use it from the original DJI Mic, and I am a big DJI fan. I am unsure if I will send it back. I don't see the $100 difference between the two. I spent a good hour dialing in the settings, and it doesn't sound that much better; in fact, do I dare say it sounds worse? At least for me and the way I use it. If you have the 1 - think twice before buying the 2 IMO.
Among all the Wireless Mic at this price range, the DJI sounded the worst. It's not even a subjective thing about sound quality, it just sounded lower quality than others at the similar price range. The mic while never marketed as match, they are not consistent, one sounded darker and another can sound brighter. What's worst is that, these DJI mic are way too bright and thin which is less suitable for spoken words application which is what this mic is used for. I like everything about this mic except the sound quality. Rode wireless pro sounded the best but I don't like the form factor and their case seemed "forced" but if I had to choose. I'll still go with the wireless pro in a heartbeat. Did I mentioned that these DJI Mics are not shielded? Or poorly shielded? They are not a mic company so I understand that, but these are basic. And their sound via Bluetooth is subpar versus plugging in the receiver.
I have the road wireless Pro, and my girlfriend just picked up these DJI mic 2… after comparing the quality of the audio, she is returning her DJI because the audio quality on the road is far far far superior. Many creators don’t mention that Rode wireless Pro comes with two Lav mics w/ your purchase while DJI does NOT include any. Rode wireless Pro also has a longer battery life, more internal storage, you can close the charging case with the windmuffs attached, which is something you can’t do with the DJI mics, and with the rode you can transfer your audio by plugging a USB-C to the charging case, while the receiver & the transmitters are in the case charging…With the DJI, you can NOT do that. You have to take each transmitter out of the case and plug them in individually to your computer. If I’m being honest and unbiased, the rode wireless Pro is hands-down, the superior one 🤷🏻♂️
@@TootXB Rode pro is ONLY $50 more BUT includes 2 lav mics valued at $80 each ($160 more for only $50 extra)….. DJI Mic 2 comes with NO lav mics. If you want 2 lav mics you must purchase them separately at $40 each ($80 extra)…. So Rode wireless Pro w/ 2 lavs - $399 DJI mic w/ 2 lavs - $430 But bottom line, even if it didn’t come with the 2 lavs, Rode’s far superior audio is worth the extra $50 to me 🤷🏻♂️
90% of people aren’t using this for critical applications. More than likely those review got a lemon and a firmware update with tweak whatever people are unhappy with. Also any real content creator is EQ their audio anyway. I’m happy with DJI mic 2 vs chunky rode pro
@@Fredo.heavyy every comment on the Dji forum is the same.. maybe all are lemons and you got the only good one? Guys are having issues even tweaking the audio in production...
Insanely crappy? It sucks hands down. The ONLY way to get it to sound ok is to turn gain alll the way up and turn off noise suppression. And even THEN it's still poor. So bad it's pretty worthless. I'm using it connected to the osmo pocket 3. The osmo on its own does better.
Glad I am not the only one, I thought, why on earth do I have to turn my gain all the way up? I thought it may be through the app I use for voiceovers. I have the Pocket 3, and it sounds pretty good, but I bought the Mic 2, and I really think the 1 sounds better.
@@kylefuchs@kylefuchs, for me, I have to turn the gain almost all the way up, and it sounds terrible and don't get me started on the noise cancellation; you sound awful with it.
