I ended up getting the action 2 as I have the original as well but this action 2 is worth it in my opinion just for it's size and the pop shots it's definitely worth having in the arsenal. I will be getting the action 3 when it drops later this month. good job bro
Good video again. I sometimes have a hard deciding on Stead, Rocksteady, or Horizon Balancing with my Action 2. I'll be interested to see if you decide to return it and get the Action 3. My sense is that it won't have the magnetized lanyard as it will be much too big and heavy. Thanks again.
Thank you! Now that the Action 3 is out I won’t be replacing the Action 2. I may still get the Action 3 but both cameras serve different use cases and I still like the lanyard option on the Action 2.
Both are great cameras but I think it really depends on your use case. Action 2 form factor for POV is hard to beat but for capturing super unique shots and not missing the shot due to mounting angle or body position, the insta360 has the advantage.

I have the magnetic case and I haven’t had a problem with overheating. That said the battery and internal storage without the battery module only lasts about 30mins before storage is full.
Yes, horizon steady is not available in 4K on the action 2, only 2.7k and below and only in 16:9 ratios not 4:3. That said it does allow the horizon to remain steady even when turning the entire camera 360 degrees where as the horizon balancing only allows up to 45 degree tilt.
