Welcome to my beginner's guide and tutorial for the new DJI Air 2S Drone. This beginners guide and training video is designed for those who have never flown a drone before to help them get familiarized with the equipment and app and get them prepared for their very first flight. If you have never flown a drone before this is a great place to start before taking your first flight with the DJI Air 2S. We cover topics such as flight modes, what memory to use, updating the firmware, activating the drone, return to home, launching and landing the drone, and many other aspects of flying the DJI Air 2S.

I've been going through countless videos for the Air 2S and this is by far the best beginning tutorial I've come across. Everything covered in an easy to follow instructional. Any questions I had throughout were covered by the end of the video. Kudos!!!

Hey Air Photography, when the drone is on but the motors are off (while updates are taking place) is it normal for the bottom (where the light is) to get very hot? 🤔

Having been an instructor of sophisticated software for university level students I can't praise your teaching style enough. Succinct delivery of info, pacing (no time to get distracted) and no cheesy music!! I learned so much in a very short time. I'm new to drones but you have removed the edge. My DJI Air 2S will arrive soon and I will be watching much more of your content. My only question: is this drone software (info) able to offer choices in imperial as opposed to metric. It would be hard to convert in my head. Thank you!!

Yes and I'm sure by now amazed at the features in the DJI FLY app! I was blown away just by the app alone on my Mavic Mini! The Mini2 even more and the Mavic Air2 adds even more. What really impressed me was the AIS I think it's called. A aircraft receiver. Detects Manned Aircraft. Picks up their beacon and gives you a voice warning along with a banner on the screen. Just click on the map and it zooms out to show the aircrafts position and direction of travel! So how you like it?

After my recent purchase of the DJI Air 2S, and being a new drone flyer, I was desperate for a good introductory tutorial. This video fulfilled the task meant for educating new and more experienced pilots on the Air 2S. In 27 minutes Sean did a great job of getting me off the ground. This presentation for beginners like me is awesome, I have come back to it a few times. He is a good teacher, and he speaks slowly easy to understand. Now I have issues with calibration, it keeps on failing to calibrate the compass calibration. Any clues, has anyone else experience the same issue?

Very nice! Perfect for the Beginner! As a GA Pilot it’s important to do as much training as you can before that first Flt. I found your video extremely helpful setting up this new Drone especially the software updates very nice 👍🏻 I really like the fact that the software provides information on where the Drone is Able to fly. I used to worry about drone Strikes in the early days of Drones when Flying my Cessna. As a Pilot it was easy to get my Drone license. Another issue to be aware of is if the image on your cellphone freezes while your drone is in flight because of lost connectivity don’t continue flying without seeing the image moving. Stop flying until you get a connection and see that your drone is moving. I had the image freeze on my phone and I thought the drone (DJI mini 2) had stopped moving forward so I continued moving the toggle forward thinking I would reconnect with the drone when SLAM, the drone hit a cement portion of my apartment balcony. The drone bounced backwards with such force that the battery slid out the back and both drone and battery crashed to the grassy area 20 stories below. Luckily I saw where it landed and went down to retrieve it. Lo and behold, it was in tact, a bit dirty, but all the pieces where in place. Never found the battery. I cleaned it up and inserted a fresh battery and to my surprise it still worked. 😃. Lesson learned.

Absolutely the best beginners guide for the Air 2S. Have got through multiple tutorials and got more confused from their instructions. In many cases they talk about a button and may have pressed it but it was done too quickly or their fingers blurred the movement.. Your use of the pencil is ideal. You also explain more and how to make many of the adjustments. Great job!!!.

Does the old DJI Air 2 charging hub compatibility with the new air 2S?

Yes, the batteries are the same and the charging hub works. I use the charging hub and 2 batteries from my previous Air 2 with a new Air 2s.

so if your flying 200 ft up and the terrain gradually goes up will the drone go up manually to maintain that 200 ft level or do you have to manually raise the drone up to go up the terrain? i am going to buy this drone very soon!! Thanks for the brilliant video. We'd be lost without it. The official DJI getting started video has such loud music that it is impossible to follow the narration. Quick question. How should one set the max altitude limit if one is taking off from a valley with 400 foot hills or in situation with a tall building? Is it okay to set the maximum altitude to above 120 M in these situations?

Excellent tutorial. Thank you so much Sean. I am in Namibia... I already had a problem to update the DJI Fly app (very slow and stopped at 60%) so I dowloaded the .apk from the website. That was also slow but it worked... with patience. Now it is updating the firmware another 2 h to go before it is done! Only 11% in more than 15 min, although my general internet speed is good. Anyone experiencing very slow download from DJI website?

Hey buddy, can u please explain the led lights to me. In my air 2s the front leads r flashing green and the rear LEDs r flashing red with a full battery. Is that normal or is something wrong?? Should the LEDs be flash green in the front and back?? Thank u for your time!!

I've watched this over and over again to see if I'm going wrong but I can't get my Air 2S flying yet. My mobile is a Galaxy A20e and managed to download the DJI Fly App but when I go to camera view all it says is 'RC Not Connected'. I've tried several times. Any suggestions?

Hi, I can't update my air 2s, I tried both RC and mac pc. I just hopeless that, after 84% drone restart automatically 4-5 times in the middle of the updating process. I just loss my mind to watch this... I tried windows, mac and RC, no one can update, everytime stop in 84%. Please help me.

TWO THINGS TO ADD: 1) If you change out the control cable from remote to phone, there appears to be a polarity where the end of cable labeled with the 'remote sticks' is the one to plug into left side facing the top of remote. 2) Also the 'DJI dance' to calibrate compass would have been good to do on the 1st flight. Very good and concise video, thank you!

Hint: Before you follow the set-up procedures shown here, make sure the controller and battery(s) are fully charged. Both seem to take considerable time, at least initially. Great video, thanks.

Lifesaver - Maybe I'll trust my drone again. Only got it - thought I'd updated all (Battery's) never thought of that angle with the flymore combo. Had a wierd take off would'nt stay steady flew all over the place, got it back manually. Struck me square in the chest and nearly took my thumb off! - Still hesitant of flying it !! But all seems to be ok - Had used a Huawei P Smart 2019 no probs with Mavic Mini, but just changed to one from the list. Cover all parameters. (Expect the unexpected)

Great video, certainly answered some questions. I've often wondered, since ocusync seems to be so phenomenal in terms of control and video feed. Does the video feed come through the antenna on the controller and to your phone via the USB cord?

HELP ME PLEASE? When i record i record at 23.98fps on my Air 2S when i put it into my editor Powerdirector 365 it has the video property at 23.00fps which ends up making my footage shaky/jerky. When i do the same thing with my Mini2 it does not do this the video is 23.98fps.... This is driving me crazy can someone help me please?

Greetings! I would like to know if, I can used Android tablet like Realme Pad or Lenono P11 or Xiaomi Pad can be used as a Monitor instead of Smartphone for flying DJI Drones such Mini or Air, but prefer DJI MINI 2 Series.? Great content , learning more and more. Thank you

The battery info is not working my the Fly App. Is this a bug? Even when flying, it never updates and there is no way to set it that I can find in the configuration.

I have a Samsung A12 (walmart special) phone and I could not get it to connect to my Air 2s but an IPad Gen 8 128gb and $420ish dollars plus tax later, I'm up in the air. New at this and wanted to pass this along to anyone who might need to see it.
