Bill, thank you for this tutorial because it helped me to figure out how to zoom. I was trying to zoom in on 5K, but when I watched your video, I learned it was in 4K mode.
Hello there. Very new in drone flying. Finally,got a go signal from wifey to purchase my very first drone. And after intense reviews and homework landed ( no pun intended) on a Dji Air 2S Fly more combo. Registered it was my first move (Part 107) and AWAY I GO!!!! Wifey asked me to fly the drone and everything went well except she proceeded to ask “HOW ABOUT ZOOMING IT?” So, I went on youtube and Glad I did! THANK YOU!
Thanks for this video on the Air 2s. After flying the Mavic Pro and the Mavic 2 zoom, my mind was made up on my next drone. After being able to switch the cameras between the Mavic 2 Pro with the Mavic 2 zoom the choice was apparent. Now I have both the camera(without aperture control) along with zoom on the Air 2s.🥰
Ohhh man..thanks for this! I’d thought MONTHS AGO it was a firmware update..mainly BECAUSE I hadn’t changed anything in the camera settings, nothing that recall anyway. I just don’t get in the settings much just for “spontaneous” flying..nothing for hire so-to-speak. Yep, it was set @ 4K/60..not ‘30’. Thanks again!
Well done Billy; just what I was looking for. Thanks for braving the birds. Funnily enough, the birds in my garden didnt like the A2s but befriended my M2 by stayoing quiet the pm.

I was getting very frustrated trying to use the zoom function which I believe can be utilized in two ways. The preferred way is by using and holding the function button and while using the dial on the left underside! It wasn't working for me! And then I noticed in the above that "it won"t work in the 5.2 K". So I look a look at my controller, and sure enough it wasn't in the 4K. TA-DA!!! Thank you for your input!!!
I just upgraded from air2 to air2 s and its little bigger but the zoom is why i upgraded. It looks grate . It means you can video yourself and other's without the noise and get sky shots instead of having to bring it back in front of u where u can just use a normal camera
It's a good implementation of digital zoom, but I wouldn't call the clarity fantastic in your 1080 demo. It's a bit fuzzy, but that's expected for digital zoom. It seems on par with Mini2 zoom support.
I can seem to get my zooming function to show up. Is there a protocol to get it to function while in video? Also, I don't see a way to tune the function button to toggle between zoom and rotate camera up and down in menu.
Bill! I am currently with my drone in the PHILIPPINES . I Did alot of footage eg Waterfalls, mountains etc. Unfortunately, while doing a Lake footage Inlost my drone. Here in the Manila you can not buy just the drone. Any recommendations where I can buy to replace my lost drone. Shipping and all. I know ita a long shot question. Thank you!
If your looking to get another DJI Air 2S I would suggest eBay. The DJI Air is currently on sale right now direct from DJI or amazon. Not sure if that would work for you.
Simply Amazing ,no problems so far except I had major jittery effect when recording video ,I found it was my tablet (Lenovo) was to slow ,Switched to Samsung tablet all is well now ,DJI rocks ,,,Mavic 3 better wash dishes or something amazing to compete
How do you charge the batteries in the field? I was leaning toward the Mavic 3 because of the built in charging port on the drone but the Air 2S seems like a better value for what I want to do.
You would need something along the lines of a Jackery Portable Station to charge your batteries in the field - it also has the option to charge these stations using solar - here is the base model www.jackery.com/products/explorer-300-portable-power-station? Charging the batteries using a portable power station is easy on either drone. If the DJI Air 2S will meet your needs I highly recommend it.
The Air 2S is better in the wind and has the second best camera next to the Mavic 3. DJI's pricing has come down on the Air 2S making it an incredible deal.
@@BillTheDroneReviewer thanks Bill, I previously had the Mavic Air FMC, and my brother just upgraded his Mavic Mini FMC to Mavic Mini 3 Pro with RC controller. If the Air2S with N1 controller was had for a bit less than the Mini3 Pro with RC is still an easy decision?
@@OnTVaustralia Even with the N1 Controller I would still get the Air 2S. Plus I'm hearing in the not too distant future that the DJI Rc will be compatible with the Air 2S.
@@BillTheDroneReviewer I picked up the Air2S and loving being back in the air! I plan on using my Samsung Galaxy Fold 3 with a tablet extender for the RC-N1 controller. This smart phone will give me 7.6" and 1200nits of brightness!
I have the Air2s and wish you had shown how to setup the Smart controller for the zoom feature. After my last update (4/14/22) the zoom feature was not enabled as before. What happened? Did DJI change controls on the Smart controller?
Can anyone help. I have just bought an air 2s on first flight I tried to zoom in on my house by holding the function button and turning the gamble wheel. Nothing happens. On the RH side there is AF but no option to zoom. The reason I know how to use the f button and gimble wheel is that I have had a mini 2 for some time. Am I missing something it’s in 4k 60fpm. So at the moment no zoom capability and can’t Find anything in setting and all updated. Help please.
Try holding down the fn button and use the gimbal scroll wheel to zoom. Also Zoom will not work if you change your color profile to anything other than "Normal". Look under "Digital Zoom" on the Air 2S specs this information can be found - 4K/30fps: 4x; 2.7K/60fps: 4x; 2.7K/30fps: 6x; 1080p/60fps: 6x; 1080p/30fps: 8x Here is the specs link www.dji.com/air-2s/specs
Tony you press the "FN" (Function) button while using the scroll wheel. Can't speak to the Mavic 2 Zoom as I didn't have it. The Mavic 2 series is on it's way out. You can't go wrong the Air 2S !
Press the "FN" button on the controller while moving the scroll wheel. Note this only works for certain video settings. See the specs for which video setting it works in: www.dji.com/air-2s/specs
Hey buddy, can u please explain the led lights to me. In my air 2s the front leads r flashing green and the rear LEDs r flashing red with a full battery. Is that normal or is something wrong?? Should the LEDs be flash green in the front and back?? Thank u for your time!!

Nice hobbyist quadcopter for sure. Really raises the bar. There are many standard land cameras in this price range but many cannot do what this can do. Just sayin'.

Hi Bill. I’ve read the manual, watched this video and others and have searched online, but still can’t figure out how to use the zoom on my Air 2S. The problem is, no matter what camera setting I use in either Auto or Pro mode, the “1X” icon never appears above the “AF” icon on the Fly screen. What do I have to do for it to show up?

If they don't you can't zoom.
Video could be improved Bill if you showed what your hands are doing when your working the drone. Problems with lack of instruction that came with my DJI Air 2s & when I looked look on line for instructions (as told at point of sale) people like yourself are not instructing, your demonstrating the product. Great to see what it can do but does not help me to do it. Not everyone lives within 2 hours drive from a DJI drone shop! Have self taught to do most things & built a few extra things for the drone myself that it clearly needed but I bought this Drone for the zoom which has not worked at all.

I do not have enough cameras and it would be next to impossible to show you my hands while flying. I've been told I describe things very well and people have found my videos helpful. Thank you.
can you explain how to zoom? how do I get there? I still can't do it. I press the fn and move the wheel on the left back. nothing happens. please how do I get into the zoom menu. Thank you
I've only had mine for 2 days and haven't played with the zoom feature yet. When i did test return to home it didn't automatically rotate the gimble down like yours did. Is that a setting in the controller? Also, are you using the Smart controller or what app do you use to record the screen?
Since you say that "90% of my video is useless stuff" you must be a drone expert right ? Can you show me where I stated this was an instructional video showing you how to use the zoom feature on the Air 2S ? At 2:29 I indicated I hit the function button and the thumbwheel which is how you use the zoom feature. Judging by your comment you are obviously not familiar with the effort drone reviewers put into making these videos. You could have emailed me and asked how to the use the Zoom feature instead of leaving a rude, demeaning comment.
