Great work brother! Not a lot of search time at 95’ on SCUBA but you accomplished your mission. I have had a few of these drone task come my way where I have been provided its last GPS waypoint before splash down. I am damn curious if your line was marked so you have a real estimate of how many feet the drone was recovered from your anchor pivot? Nice recovery! Cheers, #SeattleRingHunter

Thanks bro! It was no more than 20' from the anchor. The search lasted no more than 20 minutes on bottom. I honestly thought the drone would take off sideways but it by the way it acts underwater, I think it went STRAIGHT DOWN from where it splashed! Pretty wild!

@@SSPDIVING Yes you and I both know the deeper an item goes the wider the potential drop zone can be especially for flatter items that can plane and takeoff quite some distance from its initial drop...

@@SSPDIVING I took my 100’ Apeks thumb reel dive spool and marked off every five feet. I then put white heat shrink over the spectra line at each mark and with a fine tip black sharpie marker labeled the feet. So when I do my circle searches I always have knowledge how much like I am working for several reasons. I also recently got a deplorable GPS data logging buoy so when I locate an item of interest at the sea floor I can dispatch my buoy to the surface and it collect the the GPS waypoint. This can be very helpful if I locate a large item like a wreck or if I want to do some analytics for example phone or wedding ring was reported to be lost at a specific GPS pin and I collect a GPS pin at the point of recover I can digitally plot, map and measure the distance and bearing to better learn patterns and trends. My biggest push is to get enough search date over the course of a year or to to have some confidence of how far certain items are recovered form a chart plotters GPS, or a cellular assisted mobile phone GPS pin. We know GPS to be more accurate at higher resolutions than ever before but to get a number for example most items are located between 15’ to 20’ could be valuable information. However there is several factors that are at play. Boats drift, people sometimes slow to d Snap a photo that captures the GPS pin, how long the device has had its GPS receiver on prior to capturing the waypoint, weather, a Horst of variables... Fun data points to mine though....
