Thanks Nobby, just updated mine after being able to get wi fi at a friend's house. Weather being rubbish in South of England so it's been no fly at moment.

That larger text thing is gonna be cool to try out. It doesn’t seem to be too much bigger than the original text but I bet it makes a huge difference. Cool update video man.

@@nobby-green I love it great for photography with the sensor size the Mini 2 SE doesn’t do a bad job with its smaller sensor but when I saw the Mini 3 at that price it was a no brainier I am not interested in all the bells and whistles on the Mini 3 pro or Mini 4 pro I just like to fly my drone to a good location where permitted and that’s it snap away love it mind you the weathers not been fit for flying recently winds rain etc plus I haven’t been fit Man flu has got me Nobby.

Informative video as always Nobby. I have noticed when flying today, that since yesterday's DJI-Fly app update 1.12.8, the recently imposed 120m EU height limit has disappeared, you can now set it right up to 500m, it then gives you a warning, where you can agree that you take full responsibility, fly with caution etc. Obviously I would not break the 120m max height rule, but as the max height is calculated from the point of take-off, there are instances, for example when flying up the side of a hill etc, where you may need to exceed 120m in height from take-off point, but the aircraft is technically not more than 120m above the ground below the it 😁

It’s always had the 500m limit for a while and yes you do have to agree once you go over the 120. You are right to a certain degree ref side of a mountain but the drone will always ref the height from take off point so you can’t actually gauge how high you are flying to that point. If that makes sense ☺️ thanks 🙏

In the uk it’s still 500m. I would assume in EU after January 1st it will be 120m unless you declassified it before then. 👍

@@nobby-green Thanks Nobby! I bought the Mini 3 pro in spring 2023 and I've not done anything other then some updates, no declassify. I thought the Mini 3 pro was not really classified as it has no marks telling any class, only 249 gram printed on its batteries. Better keep staying away from updating it looks like.

@@nobby-green thnx Nobby 4 sharing our joy. U might notice that only limeys and ppl outside the north Americas would benefit from DTFCC. Our group on Facebook counts more than 10K members with an abundance of Britons, EU citizens and a few SA nationals. The FCC feature ensures security and signal stability when operating in major hubs like Bristol, Newcastle and Midsomer. That's why my posting though....

Hello Nobby, hope you are ok? I just wrote a message and it's gone it ? Sorry to ask again I did the a firmware update a my friends house on 3rd of February and thought it would sort my dji controller out cos Ive had no sound or it worked after I did it and thought that was the answer. First day since than I was able to take it out and NO SOUND. sorry to bother you any ideas why it worked a week ago but not now 😮 thanks again.

I'm wary of updates like this from DJI. I have not updated the firmware in my Air 2S for some time. I stopped the updates when the latest description said, among other things, that it added RID. It also said that RID could not be deleted. I don't intend to add RID until after about 6 months of it being active in the US. If I don't hear any horror stories of fliers being accosted by Karens, robbed of their expensive equipment by criminals or some poor schmuck getting an onerous fine from the FAA for flying a one-pound foam airplane in a city park, then I might consider adding RID. My concern in continually updating the fly app is that at some point it will refuse to run my drone until I get the latest update. Sort of a sneaky way of forcing RID on everyone. Does that make me paranoid? Maybe a little, but I prefer to think of it as cautious.
