I have been searching RU-vid for a very specific thing that you have filmed here (Albeit I didn't think I would find at all). I have been EXACTLY looking for someone who might have a shot of a moving train while panning the drone with the 7x Camera from the Mavic 3. The second going away shot of the train is also a huge bonus. I have been heavily weighing getting the Mavic 3 and wanted to know how a shot would look with that camera just like you shot it and I am impressed. No real camera shake or shake of the train even in the slightest that I saw which is what I was hoping it would be like. This video in general is extremely useful to get an idea of how the 7x camera looks when filming so thanks a lot for this upload! Very nicely done.
Hey Dan, thanks for your message and I'm glad it was of help. Yes this 7x really surprised me how stable and well it works in the M3. Since this video it has improved considerably allowing manual control over the shutter and iso, as well as 4k 50fps, but despite the limitations of the camera, it is a fantastic tool.
@@VisualairUk I have been seeing about that update and the ability to now control ISO and shutter which is a big improvement. I am excited to see what I can do with this drone!
Truly beautiful! There is something very special using a tele lens in drone photography/videography... love the compression in the perspective! Really looking forward for DJI's new firmware upgrade for Mavic 3 to unlock the full potential of this second lens.
Thank you very much Suchan. I totally agree, despite it not being as good as the main camera I absolutely love what I am able to capture with this even now. Certainly exciting to know what is still possible with a firmware upgrade.
Thank you for the kind words Ovaflo. I have to say whilst my expectations initially were all about the main camera (which is fantastic) the 7x really has surprised me how much I enjoy using it
I have reported the 7x zoom or lens issues in with DJI. Not too sure if firmware can correct it however being able to control the settings and raw support would be a good start. In my findings, the lens is in focus within 100-200 meters but outside of that DOF then the focus diminished. Not too sure if firmware can correct that or is it in the hardware. Aperture adjusted to 35mm is over f/20 after all.
Interesting what you say there, and I agree with your findings, it does seem around the 100-200 meters focus point it is at its best for sure.RAW and manual control will absolutely be amazing to have, and something they should be able to implement.
Jeffrey, thank you so much. Yes I don't get the complaining to be honest.I admit there are faults which need rectifying but it really is superb if you can adapt to its limitations. I mean this is 162mm on a small foldable drone! The stabilisation is mind blowing really and some were in 30mph plus winds yet it was still solid. Yes I did, the work around this was to tap the screen on a high contrast area which wouldn't go out of frame and it was almost like exposure lock.
@@VisualairUk Good to know! I gave it a test run today and didn't get anything close to you but ill keep trying! It seems like MF seems to be the way to go.
Excellent, great to see the 7x camera being really used. I have just got the Mavic 3, but have so far not had the time/opportunity to make good use. I also like using a 70-200 lens and am excited by the 7x camera. Hoping for some good weather over Christmas/New Year week, so I can really use this new camera
@@VisualairUk I agree, but not for this drone. I don’t think the zoom cam was meant to be taken seriously as much as it’s supposed to be a camera used for “exploring”. Besides, it gives DJI incentive to put out a Mavic 3 “Pro” with an upgraded manual zoom camera 🤷🏾♂️
