A full setup guide for your Mini 2 or Mavic Air 2. I use the Air 2 to show you the full setup and how to fly; the Mini 2 uses the same remote and Fly app, so apart from the element on collision sensors, this should help you for either model. cheers, Ian
Another great video for a complete newbie! Thanks Ian. Just about to buy a Mini2. Am I right in thinking though, that the Mini 2 also doesn't have active track and follow me?
I changed my Joystick configuration is Mode 3, It’s exactly like an Xbox controller so it made it easier for me to master the controls quicker. Great video 👍🏻
Another no nonsense quality video .... only thing I would add is that using the Windy app , for me at least , is essential as it shows wind direction. Like you said fly out against the wind and come back with it. If you can’t then as you go out I’d suggest testing you can can come back every few hundred metres ... especially over water ...
8 weeks after buying my MAii and I have only just found your page. Excellent video, the simplest and most helpful one I have seen. Who knows, it may have saved me losing mine a few weeks back. It was about 300 yards away from where I thought it was (no idea how as I was looking at its last photo and was not touching the sticks), but the find my drone worked well. It did take nearly 3 weeks to get it down from the 85ft+ tree where it wedges itself. Obviously (!) it cost me a new gimbal, but all that time in the Welsh rain, took it home and tried it. It still flew! Again, great video.
Excellent video. I've had an original Air for exactly one year before a hit the wall under a bridge then ditched it into the water and it's not worked since. So anyway it's put my order for air 2 ahead about 6 months and looking forward to see the man from DPD tomorrow Monday 15 June 2020 and my first own good advice is to not lift it off the ground untill the DJI refresh is active. I have a few videos on RU-vid so thought like most of us do I know what I'm doing. Sometimes it helps to stop, take stock and go back to basics and that's what your video did absalutely perfectly and all with the added interesting background of you. Three doggies. Even the older frisky one. Cheers
Cheers Ian, just took delivery of my air 2 a couple of days ago and I have to say as a newbie I am hooked already. All your videos helped me to decide to purchase this drone so a big thanks to you. Just have to figure out the video editing side now and adding music!!
Thanks Ian.. Got my Air2 a few weeks ago as my very first drone and almost all the things you mention hit home to me, especially the "Hit Record" comment..!!!!
Another great video Ian. You always manage to give us some ‘not so obvious’ tips in your videos which serve as a reminder to pay attention and not get swept up in the ‘WOW’ of flying a drone. Altitude, relative to the Home Point, is one such tip. Good work! - Bill from the States.
Great tutorial Ian. I have watched it through three times now to pick up on bits i missed the previous times. i like to be as familiar as possible with all settings and this is a better way to do it than sifting through the manual. One tip though - never act with children or animals. Your lovely pooches add credence to this saying right at 15.40 😁
Thanks, Ian....very helpful! My Air 2 just arrived and I’m learning all this for the first time and can’t wait to put my drone to good use. Your videos have been very helpful. Cheers!
Nice one buddy....I'm feeling like I'm ready to go now, never flyed a drone b4 and just got a dji air 2s....watched a lot of set up videos, mostly American....but at last someone English, good clear set up guide, feel ready to take her out tomorrow...cheers! 👍😜🛩
Ian another well informed video, and for any new flyer it's a must to watch, its always good to hear a friendly no nonsense brit giving us all the information we need to fly safely, and be up to date with the new drones on the market, well done Ian.
I just ordered my MA2 yesterday~ thanks for very detailed informations about flying, very helpful to foresee the tips of controlling the drone before one who still waiting his/her MA2 on the way to delivery~
WOW now I am sure that this video will be very useful for all new Pilots and refresh us more experienced Pilots always useful to have a reminder on some of the things that can and do go wrong, thanks IAN another very informative VIDEO, regards TJK UK.
Just purchased a Mavic Air 2, Your walkthrough was excellent!! Have watched a fair few and yours was the easiest to follow and very concise to kick off with. Thanks for a the great video. Much appreciated :)
Hi Ian you are a life saver. Thanks for the wicked instructions and content. Got the Air2 fly more and its amazing. I had a parrot anafi and that was great but no obstacle avoidance and I let a mate have a go so broke 2 of them, absolutely crushed my confidence so starting slow with this beauty.
Ian, Great video. Thanks so much for all the info. Thanks also for Along sharing your dogs with us. They look like they are a handful!!!! Great stuff tanks again.
Lovely video very well made and thorough with all relevant information keep up the good work! I’m watching from Vancouver British Columbia Canada, cheers !
Superb video. I have just bought one these and the info is spot on. Not yet had chance to fly it due to the Yorkshire weather. New subscriber to your channel. Thank you Dave
Great Even though I have been flying for years for some reason still like watching these. I find pigeons are very territorial and have swarmed my drone many times.
I've just got a Tello to start off this hobby with so I can test flying through obstacles and battling against wind as much as possible with lower cost if things go wrong whilst learning, ideally I want to master close fly-through shots into a reveal shot, like on the wooded hill sides in Betsy-Cowed or Peak District, would you say eventually the Pro 2 or Air 2 would be ideal and if so which is actually best.
I’m really enjoying your channel and looking to get an Air 2 very soon. Just a question: is it best when it’s time to return home to just let it do it automatically or should you just fly it home yourself?
You should always RTH yourself when you see the battery is getting lower than 40%. Controlled RTH on your terms under your control is better for your skill and also stops unexpected routines kicking in....
@@IaninLondon Thanks a lot for the reply! Actually, before I heard back from you, I watched your video about the loss of your drone at the Cliffs of Dover, which pretty much answered my question. It sounds like what you were saying should have been done was to allow the return to home to bring it back to you instead of trying to navigate it yourself. Am I understanding that right?
Very detailed videos as always. Please investigate and present if there is a problem with continuous 4k60 video recording in mavic air 2. Overheating errors have been reported, when there is continuous 4k60frames video recording for more than 10-15 minutes.
@@IaninLondon Thank you very much. I'm looking forward to hearing from you. I don't think it has to do with the card. I am a future buyer of this drone (mavic air 2) Have you noticed wobbles / jello with mavic air 2?
@@S.T.VisualStories Definitely no wobble or jello effects with the Air 2. My Go Pro will overheat if I record for more than half an hour on 4k. Will have a play...
brilliant video..iv'e never had a drone before and always wanted to grab one, this one really interests me. is it good for a beginner? i know you have to resister drones over a certain weight,is their a fee to pay?,and is it a simple procedure? thx
Hi Ian, great channel and very informative. I have a quick question you may know the answer to, can my Mavic air 2 find it’s way to the control if I have moved from the take off point. I mean you can find the drone but can the drone find the controller?
Your controller uses your phone's GPS to keep track of its location. But the drone only needs to be updated of the new location if you update the home point. 👍🏻
@@IaninLondon thank you, I was just thinking of a scenario where I become unwell I would also have had to tell the person with me how to set a new RTH point before pressing the RTH button. 😀
Hi Ian thanks for the important information, I got the Operator ID license, Flyer ID I also paid 9 pounds. Can I buy the DJI Mavic Air 2 ?? I am a little confused with all these changes in the law for 2022 I appreciate your help so much Thank you for sharing
@@IaninLondon Hi Ian Thank you for your help you are very kind, YOU ARE THE BEST !!👍👍👍 I have seen almost all your videos I am an amateur so maybe I will do a little A2 CofC online course at UAVHUB I will let you know. Thank you for now Have a Merry Christmas to you and your family
Great informative video but one thing no one seems to explain is how to turn the LED light on and off. I was flying my Mavic Air 2 in the daytime and found the LED light was on. How do I manually turn it on and off?
Excellent video explaining it all, just got mine today after using a Mavic mini 2 which I love, but want this for the hills and it`s strength. Problem with switching between the two is remote connection to the phone, which I `m sure your`e aware of, right pain though.
@@IaninLondon Hi Ian,I'm using both controllers but the same phone. Each time I try and swap,I get a message saying RC not connected,I reinstall the app and it's fine, just a pain doing each time.
@@davidsneyd6844 That's completely not supposed to happen. I swap all the time; as soon as I unplug one remote then connect and switch on the next remote, it changes over fine. It sounds like you have a dodgy connector cable. Or maybe a dodgy phone connector. Try a different cable.
@@IaninLondon i was hoping it would be a straight swap. I'll check the connectors, but when I did it last time, had the same problem. I'll keep trying. Might be the phone connection, although have no issues with the charger etc. I'll have a go now as I want to go off this week and do some flying.
Hi Ian what a fantastic video, can you help me I’ve never flown before and was going to buy the mini, but after watching your video on the air 2 I’m not sure which to buy to start, has a total beginner do you think I’m more like to lose the mini over the air 2? I know it’s twice the price or are they the same and could easy lose either drone, I’m unsure which to buy????
Great video as ever Ian. Is there any update on the CE certification for the Air 2 yet? I really want to get one, but I’m conscious of it becoming a paperweight in 2yrs time.
