I got idea how to test "3D map creating" - try to move drone forward to some object until they detect it. After that try move close to the same object by sideways where this object will be not in sonars range.

None of the early reviewers have properly compared the Intelligent Flight modes with the Mavic Pro. The Mavic Air does not have Course Lock, POI, Home Lock, or Fixed Wing mode. Course Lock and POI are absolute essentials for many of the Cinematic shots I like to use. I also haven't seen any evidence that the Active Track feature on Mavic Air includes the Profile and Spotlight modes of the Mavic Pro (we've only seen Trace mode). Profile is the most important tracking mode for most movie scenes using Active Track. DJI still haven't released the User Manual download for Mavic Air.

The HDR pictures don't look that much different initially but it's when you edit them you will find a great deal more color space and latitiude to work with.

Is Mavic Air crippled like the Spark in that only a wifi connection between the phone and remote controller is supported (no cable like the Mavic Pro)? The Spark continues to have connection issues, particularly for those outside the US. It looks like the Mavic Air has the same remote control communications link as the Spark (wifi only , no Occusync). Is this true? Please let us no if you experienced any connection issues during your testing.

You forgot to mention about controllers new feature where you can plug phone with cable. There are ready plugs build in.

Is there an advantage getting the DJI Mavic air from DJI or elsewhere?

What about noise? Would still make sense to get the Pro Platinum just for the new ESC and Propellers? People hated when I was flying my spark over, and now my MUST is to have quieter drone

Can you charge the Mavic Air with a battery bank like you can with the Spark? I often go back country backpacking for days on end and need to charge it via a battery bank. With the Mavic Pro can only be charge via a car battery or AC plug.

is the controller's antenna similar with spark's controller? spark could use an alientech antenna for signal booster, is mavic air controller also support the alientech antenna ?

Can I use any FPV goggles with this drone and still get 2000 meters with the video transmission for fpv or do I need to use it with the DJI goggles only?

I currently own a Mavic Pro and love the POI mode. Can you do something along the lines of the POI with the Mavic Air? The Circle QuickShot seems to suck.

first, thanks for your sharing, I have some questions about Mavic air. 1. when Mavic air connect with Goggles, is it the same as Mavic pro? (which mean wireless and also can use head control the gimbals?)

what would you do? i have the mavic pro but i'm considering to sell it because drones under 500grams (like the mavic air) do not have any flight restrictions in switzerland (which are pretty hard). it's perfectly clear that i wouldn't fly next to an airport, but in switzerland the no-fly zones are in a 10km radius around airports which leave out almost no space to fly Thanks for your help

so far i think it is great, i would have made it a part of the spark range as an upgrade. giving it the mavic name makes it look like a downgrade with specs, but as a spark it is a massive upgrade.

Does the Mavic Air work off WiFi or radio? And does it have advanced camera settings like the mavic or are the camera settings more similar to the spark

I've been looking for a good drone for recording mountain biking videos and I haven't found a good one yet. I'm specifically looking for one that is able to follow me while I'm riding, keep the camera on me through turns, and avoid any obstacles like trees and branches. Do you know if this or any drone that can do that?

Ive noticed very bad "stuttering" in the footage from most reviews of the mavic air (in your footage as well, but not the worst Ive seen as its especially noticeable when filming flowing water or waves). Any thoughts on this? can this be fixed with a software update?

Does anyone know how wide (precise dimensions) those brackets open where your smart phone sits? Trying to figure out or make sure that my phone isn't too long or wide to fit in those brackets on the remote control... I have an LG V20

Very glad to see rear collission avoidance, as that is where it is needed most. Does it have cinematic and tripod modes? Those are the two modes I used the most often.
