Man - THANK YOU for this video Love it. Not just the comprehensive guide, but the location for the shoot as well. Loving your content recently. Had I not bought my Mavic, I may have never found your channel and that would have been a true waste. Keep it up, and see you around Tokyo!
You're right, this is THE BEST GUIDE. Most of the beginners guides brush past the basics, either they aren't paying attention and assume "YOU KNOW"... thanks for helping out the Newbies.
I am watching lots of RU-vid videos on the Mavic Pro prior to spending the $1000 for this drone. Yours was easilhy one of the best since you made it very straightforward to understand. I will bookmark and watch again once my drone is delivered. Thanks
Hey Chuck Gerlach, that's a huge compliment considering how many mavic tutorials and guides there are out there. I really appreciate the feedback! Let me know if you have any questions when you get your drone. Happy flying!
Brilliant guide, I just bought my mavic Pro and started shooting for my RU-vid channel. This will help me so much. Looking forward to your future video's
Hey JustOneForAll, welcome to the Mavic TEAM. The Mavic takes great video and adds another level of production to your videos. I'm loving it. I'm sure you will too. I'm about to upload some more videos from my Philippines trip with some Mavic shots. Hope you check out. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for quite a few tips others haven't mentioned, especially how to launch and recover without actually touching ground. Especially useful for launch and recovery from my boat! Also great, concise presentation and quality video.
sorry you crashed your drone. Did you get it fixed? I crashed my drone too and broke the camera...but here's how I fixed it. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--Cwk7Qauf_c.html
My camera still functions videowise. it was just hanging out of the drone like a popped out eyeball, broken bracket. I did send it in to dji. I think it went to Texas. Thanks for the advice!
Thank you very much for your time and effort to share your own experience. Do not pay attention to the bad comments. There is always people with low spirit, lack of gratitude, who always look for any room of opportunity to criticize. I ask to those ones: what in your life have you shared with others, other than your negativism?
Thanks a bunch. This video helped me out a lot. I have watched several of the beginner/opening or out of the box videos, but yours has been my favorite.
Well done Paolo. I really enjoyed your video and interesting tips. I bought my Mavic Pro yesterday, this video brought me up to speed super quick. Thanks for your effort to make information like this more accessible and understandable. Cheers, Jonathan
Long! But LOVED IT! Although I've had the Mavic for sometime now, I wish I'd seen this earlier. No one really talks about recycling the three batteries. I also do the same and it is EXTREMELY important. Great video ! 👍🏻
Hey 2Travellers, yup, it's difficult to recycle the batteries if you don't label them. Thanks for commenting and watching. talk to you again next time.
Hey Cezza, thanks for the comment. Not to be misleading or anything, but this particular video was shot in Boracay. Check out my other videos to see Tokyo.
Hey Greg, I had the same feeling. I thought I had to return the drone until I noticed that damn sticker. thanks for watching and hope to talk to you again soon.
Great Video! Thanks for taking your time to make it. The video is full of Great Tips and lots of very informative advice. Especially for beginners like me!
Hey Tanya Terry, don't worry, you'll get used to it. I'm glad this video tips helped. Let me know if you have any other questions. Talk to you again soon.
Hey Matt, drones will set you back a little, but they are super fun and the Mavic takes awesome ariel footage. If you're looking for something a little more affordable, check out the DJI Spark. Might make the decision a bit easier. Talk to you again soon.
Paolo fromTOKYO mate and myself just bought a mavic pro each today, time to experiment! I did have a parrot ar drone a few years ago but it's absolute rubbish!
great points! just bought my mavic pro and waiting for it to arrive. I'mn going to the Philippines as well next march 2018. your tips on how to get a permit is amazing thanks!
Hey Chuck, glad that both of the videos helped. you're going to have a blast flying your drone in the Philippines and taking all that beautiful footage. talk to you again later.
Paolo fromTOKYO for sure! cant wait I'll get my mavic in 3 days it just shipped today. I already contacted the CAAP and just waiting for a response. better do it early than late
Hey Chip, thanks for the kind words. I was a bit lost myself when I got the drone, so I essentially made the video to answer the questions I had when I first got the drone. Hope to talk to you again in the next one.
Nice video. It would've been really helpful if I've seen this before I started flying. 4 batteries so that you can go on location to shoot; 2 for sunrise and 2 for sunset
Thanks for the tutorial; I found it very informative and easy to follow. I'm not an Apple person and most DJI drone RU-vids refer to connecting to their iPhone(as you did). Do you know if my Samsung Galaxy Tab A tablet(8 inch) would fit and connect okay? Mike in Oz
Great video, like others have said explains the smaller 'common sense' which you don't always think about! Just one comment, when you're catching the drone with your hand (I've only flown mine about 4 or 5 times now but caught it most times as I'm normally flying in a place with long grass) I wouldn't suggest fighting it as it'll probably damage the drone a bit. What the drone is doing is flying back up to about 1-2 foot from your hand as it thinks your hand is the floor and therefore kicking in the safety feature and rising a bit before it lands. If you just let it fly off it'll just come back down, takes the same amount of time but shouldn't damage the drone. Hope that makes sense! Can you also explain how you let it take off from your hands? as when I move the sticks down the blades are spinning so I can't pick it up.... Ah I think I just noticed you moved the right stick with your elbow?
Nice review. I got mine and agree with you on all of your comments. I also used a binoculars case that I had and fits perfectly. Had the same challenges and you made things clear ;)
I think you should add to slow down the gimbal settings to your video to give the shots a more cinematic approach or smoother camera movement.. This is the only thing I learned from other videos to complete your comments on the Mavic..
Hey c0pyimitati0n, luckily, I have not had an issue with the joysticks breaking. The bag itself is padded so I'm not too worried. But good tip for those who may not have a protective bag. thanks for watching!
Great video...love your shirt! Just my one last night and been through 5 batteries already playing down at the beach....my next step is downloading 4K and what is the best editing programme...or possibly most user friendly currently.
Hey Paula, hahaha...thanks for noticing the shirt! I use a macbook so editing is final cut pro is most common. for something easier, I recommend imovie. that is how I started. hope to talk to you again soon.
I didn't know you needed to be up 30m for RTH to work. I flew for the first time yesterday and tried it when I was about 8 feet off the ground and it started flying up. I freaked out and took manual control of it.
Hey c0pyimitati0n, you can set the RTH height on the controller. You should always be careful of launching your drone with overhanging trees or power lines. Keep flying and you'll get more used to all of the controls.
