Just bought my mini 2 and found your channel, it's the best I've seen for tips and easy to follow. Been using my drone on the boat and suddenly realised that it didn't want to land in your hand and even harder trying to land it on a small drifting deck. I think the landing floats would be a good investment. Saying all that, it's still alive and have had some cracking photo results.

Check everything before taking off and hover for a while and try a few maneuvers at eye level. Know your drone and everything about it. Great and simple tips.

Biggest tip I would give anyone about to buy one for flying over water: Get the 2 year care plan when you buy it! I used my Phantom for years to film from my little yacht and was always stressing it would go to Davy Jones' locker. I have just got a Mini 2 with the 2 year care plan and have found I just don't have that on edge feeling!

fly with your map and with sunglasses on and stop and go when bringing home the drone this will help to find it by the sound . Always come home at the seven minute mark its time for anew battery anyway. Good flying.

Thank you for your Vlogs, the RTH is a big one for me at Work with the Mav 3 Pro -I have seen a co worker take off and the Mav set the Home point during the flight - Not good when the Home point was set over water and the Operator just pressed home and was not watching the Drone returning

Very useful video as I'm doing lots of packrafting for a charity paddling marathon and will be flying my Mini 2 over lots and lots of water. Those floats in particular look useful because it means I can hand launch the drone but land it on the water and paddle up to it rather than trying to hand catch it.

great vid thank you I lost my first mini 2 on the end of a jetty so know the pain of loosing a drone luckily I had the dji cover and it only cost me 370 for a new one. I still fly over water if you see the video on my profile but a lot more cautious n no tricky stuff. I liked the floats in this. also any tips for birds like eagles I'm in Australia and don't want to loose my drone to a wedge tailed 🦅

@@GetBusyLiving the local pigeons seem to get spooked and do circles around the drone in one place I fly, strangest thing I ever seen completely dodging the drone although I wasn't moving just hovering on the spot

Any tips for precautions when birds are around? From your experience do they tend to attack or avoid the drone ? In the area I want to fly it (I haven't dared yet) there are swallows and ofcourse many seagulls near the beach.

How do find the mini 2 in windy weather ? I live in the Wollongong area. Which is a coastal area and it gets windy here. I had a mini original and it struggled in wind

My first DJI flight when i bought a Original Mavic Pro platinum was over water. it saw or recognized the water with the sensors and would not let me go below say 3 feet. Did the Mini 2 recognize the water. Does it have the same "down" Camera or sensor. My Mavic pro will not land with just a stick or go below that 3 feet. Is the mini the same is what im asking?? I just ordered a mini 2.

Yeah that's true. I treat it a little bit like in golf when you are teeing off over a lake - it often freaks people out - just treat it like nothing is there or that it's normal ground. Works for me!

I am in total agreement if you don't trust your drone or the technology you will really be hindered. I dont know if you have ever heard the saying DRIVE IT LIKE YA STOLE IT well I fly it like I stole it! Lol!!! I am gonna get my money's worth and if it would go in the drink, well then that's that. I have a mavic air I can fall back on.
