Great purchase. If your husband is a videographer, get some NDs - he will need them if he wants to maintain a 1/50 frame rate in bright, sunny conditions. I got some cheap Sunnylife ones on eBay for mine and they do the trick.

Just bought the DJI mini 2 and love how easy to use, stable and fast it is. The only thing that scares me is a flock of birds attacking it due to how tiny it is 😜

Awesome video! I'm kind of surprised not many experienced pilots are purchasing it compared to the many whom are buying this as their first drone. This will be my fifth DJI drone and my preferred one. As a wildlife and nature photographer I find myself needing something lighter to have in my backpack when hiking 5-10 miles to a waterfall or specific landscape and when combined with camera gear, food, water and clothing, if you don't makes for a lot of weight you're packing around. Although my Phanton 3 Standard and Phantom 4 are the best in high winds, they are big and bulky. I also fly the Mavic Pro 1 and the Mavic Air 1 and they're still really great birds but still a little on the heavy side. That's where the Mini 2 really shines. Just 249 grams makes hiking and backpacking all the more enjoyable.

This is my first ever look into drone info of any kind. Normally on any subject I have to watch a dozen or so videos to get a thorough covering of the subject. I must say I'm impressed with the thoroughness of your review. One thing I would have liked to have been stated was the range one could expect to rely upon in maintaining recovery. You indicated its possible to have signal interference but I would expect there's a way to establish if you are in that scenario before losing control of the craft. I'm concerned because I had a remote control plane I spent months building back in the 80's develop a mind of its own during its virgin flight and depart into a wilderness that didn't allow tracking or recovery. I never built another plane but the drones look more effective that are built today.

I bought the Mini 2 as my first drone and LOVE it. I wasn’t able to get the fly more kit so I’m stuck with the single battery until I order some more, which bites, but I think I can hold out. I’ve always been into photography and love the ability to take pics from places no one else has been able to achieve.

I bought my Mavic Mini 2 about a month ago and I have been going to different parks and trails to get cool aerial footage and vlog my heart out. Super happy that this was my first drone. I take everywhere since you dont have to register it like the bigger drones, at 249 grams which is the minimum weight for an unregistered drone. I take it everywhere and fly it around the city, parks, trails...there are some restrictions but nothing too bad, some parks dont allow them but you can check with your city's regulations before you head out to a new spot. Cant wait to take it the beach and mountains. The camera alone is freaking good so for the pictures where you want to get a full rock formation or a big group of friends at a field, its so worth it. Big recommend this bad boy and its editing software which can take a bit to get used to but you used any video editing software you will be right at home. Love this drone, got the FlyMore bundle and I rarely use all of the 3 batteries when flying, most of the time I end up with one left and I get quite a bit of footage when Im hiking. One of the best purchases Ive made for sure.

Great overview and long term review of the DJI Mini 2. I fly the original.Mavic Mini, at the moment it does everything I need my drone to do but at some point in the future I'll probably go for the Mini 2. The main reason why, here in the UK under 250g we can fly almost anywhere, except near airports and airfields obviously but we can fly them in built up, congested areas, even over uninvolved people, it has the most freedoms currently, all the CAA require is you register this little drone, thats it, no test, no training, nothing, only read and understand the owners manual. 👍😎

@@chrismacdonald.6295 I thought that when I picked up my first drone, how am I going to use it?🤔😳😁 To be honest you make any excuse you can to fly! I tend to fly mostly just for fun, to relax, get out and about and look for nice spots to fly, so I incorporate it into taking my dog on long walks and exploring new areas. If I find a suitable spot I fly my drone. The good thing about these Mini drones, they take no space, are very light and very portable so easy to take virtually anywhere. I share some of my videos on my channel. But when I think back in my life, there are many times I wish I had a drone to capture those special moments from an aerial perspective. Even though drones weren't a thing back then, it would have been great to look back on all that video and photos I captured. Think of a drone as like a camera you can fly virtually anywhere and get those scenes a regular photographer could only dream of.

Mike you just made my day and I’m glad that I have Mini 2 and I can fly 5+ hours with my 7 x modded with Mavic Air 2 cells inside the Mini 2 body and soldered on Mini 2 BMSs and only 269g take off weight and the incredible 43 minutes flight time per such battery ;) will try to find out to post the pictures of the batteries on your Drone supremacy FB page if you allow it of course ... I don’t sell them I made them for me but if people want such batteries ... yes I make them , mod them, make sure make them as stock in order to be able to use the DJI care refresh in terms of fly aways or other failures not related with the modded batteries ... so far they are perfect 😍

Lost my mini one in the ocean. I live in the Caribbean and winds are an issue with the mini one connection was one as well and just like that gone. I'm new to drone photography and don't see myself getting the huge and expensive ones so I love the minis. Decided to upgrade and get the mini 2. Soooo happy for my decision.

I read all the reviews about the mini 2 but yet I'm still genuinely gob smacked about how amazing the footage looks. I mean I'm using it right out of the box settings, I haven't got a clue about colour grading or white balance or ISO - and yet just on auto using a fraction of its capabilities the shots already look friggin amazing. This is the most surprising - in a good way - piece of tech I've ever bought hands down. You get a hell of a lot for the money.

The best drone is the one ya actually use a lot ... the Mini 2 is affordable, easy to carry anywhere AND flies very stealthy due to its size it draws little attention.

I sold my mavic pro 1 regretfully a while ago and I really miss it heaps. Do you think the mini 2 is similar in terms of flight performance and camera quality? I want this drone to perform the same if not better than my old mavic pro.

@@myspace4599 What do you mean? Get licensed for uploading your footage on RU-vid? I thought the whole purpose of a sub 250 drone was to prevent all the licensing and registration . Where are you getting a 100,000 penalty fee from

Plus: the DJI Mini 2, since it's less than 250g, you can fly it in more locations than a bigger drone that would need authorisation. ;) Great video as always Mike! I love the B-Roll shots you did in there. But who was filming you? :P
