I saw your response "Its been found that starting up the RC2 too fast causes the problem. Press the power button once, wait 2 or 3 seconds, then press and hold the power button. If that doesnt work, just try restarting it again while leaving the dongle plugged in." FINALLY. IT WORKS !!!! IT'S ALIVE !!!!! IT's ALIVE......... I was about to give up on this thing....Thank you, my hair thanks you cause I was pulling it out.....lol.....
@@jeremycrumrine6091 Anything with an HDMI input will work. So a TV would work just fine. But if the TV is just going to be sitting right next to you, dont bother with the wireless rig. Just get a USB-C to HDMI cable and that will work fine.
@@jeremycrumrine6091 I've run my RC controller on an 85" flatscreen, and a 32" curved 16:9 Also, I usually just run a cable with a C to A adapter. Works great.
Thank you so much for doing the work putting this really nice setup together. Really looks excellent and as portable as can be made. Been looking into getting the Mini 4 Pro but have not been satisfied with the video solutions. As much as I'd like to use my iPad Pro 11 inch, it's been a real pain to get it to work as an external monitor well consistently. This is a beautiful setup I'd like to try. But still as Witt the iPad, it's the order in which you power up the devices after having made all the connections. Connect, power up RC2 last. Excellent. Thanks
No problem! I hope this helps when the time comes! I believe the iPad requires a "capture card" and a program that can view that video input coming from the capture card and display it on screen. I dont own any Apple stuff so I cant say for sure. I know there was another guy on RU-vid that had it working. He had his iPad on a boom stand, from what I remember. I forget his username.
What firmawe version are you running on your controller? I bought thr same tx and rx from the link and it will not connect at all. No signal please wait. I tried multipule different pauses between power button presses on the rc2. Tried several times. No matter what i try, i get the check mark after the rc2 turns on, then it just goes to the screen where it says no signal please wait.
I have updated the RC2 to the latest firmware and it still works. I never updated any firmware on the wireless HDMI device, not sure what version it is. Have you gotten the wireless device to work on any other equipment? Like your phone or a tablet that supports dual-screen (has a USB 3.2 port) and your Television or some other HDMI screen?
Yes it works with my phone no problem. Lastnight after about 20 tries I got it to work once on the controller. But I could not replicate it again. The time it worked I had a 1 second pause in-between button presses. But I couldn't do it again. Just seemed to work out of luck.
There is another workflow for the iPad that involves using a capture card and an application on the iPad. There is a video on youtube somewhere that Ive seen before. The workflow in this video is for this specific equipment.
Tried the same adapter on my new Mini 4/RC2, but it's not working - it just says "no [HDMI] signal" and gives me a QR code to the manual (i.e. the wireless dongles are connected, but no video signal is coming from the RC2). Did you update the firmware on your wireless adapter? And have you tried with the latest RC2 firmware? What resolution is your screen? I verified the wireless adapter works from my S22 phone flawlessly, as expected. But never with the RC2 - even tried the RC2 power button delay trick mentioned in the comments. The RC2 sends video out via a wired USB C/HDMI adapter just fine.
The solution that Ive seen several times in the comments in this video is to power up the RC2 slowly. Plug in both pieces of the wireless HDMI device (into RC2 and your screen), press the power button on the RC4 once, wait about 1 second, then press and hold to power on. Ive updated to the latest versions of firmware on all my DJI products and the RC2 still works with this system.
@@jasonzdora Thanks - yeah, I've tried that several times, with various delays. I see the wireless TX gets power on the first press (blue LED turns on), but it then goes out for a second as the RC2 boots, then comes back on - does yours? Wondering if there's a different firmware version on my wireless dongle.
@@BooDevil65 Sorry hear that, man. You can see the blue light on my transmitter flashing on and off several times in the video around 3:05 and it works. I cant really tell you anything differently than what Ive shown in the video or any of my replies to other folks in the comments here. You can see the firmare version of my dongle in my video as well.
Question….. I got everything you got from the description, but so far no dice on the external monitor? Do I need to change any settings on the RC2 remote
No settings changes needed. The main thing Ive seen people mentioning as a "fix" is when powering up the RC2 to take a longer pause between your first press of the power button and the 2nd long holding press. Not sure but I think that gives the transmitter longer to power up. Have you tested the transmitter and reciever with any other devices? Troubleshooting to see if that part works correctly.
@@dbarney68 Hey Im glad that did the trick! Ive seen that about 3 times in the comments section here and each time that fixed it so Im glad. I would honestly hate for guys to waste money based on a video I made. Hope you (or your co-pilot) enjoy the 2nd monitor! Cheers!
¡Hola!
I dont think this exact config would work with your tablet. This config is for a monitor. Your tablet is kind of like its own little computer. I dont have an Android tablet so I cant really test anything, unfortunately. Ive seen people use capture cards with iPads on other videos. Maybe that would work for an Android tablet as well.
Its about as visible as the display on the RC2. Maybe a little brighter if you go into the settings and adjust things. The good thing is that the user can move to the shade or use their own body to cast a shadow over the screen. Ive used it outside 4 times since this video and all customers have been happy to be able to wirelessly monitor what Im doing. They could provide feedback and give me kudos on what they liked. Never complained about the brightness of the screen, even when in direct sunlight.
Hello again, so I just wanted to ask if you had any trouble with the smart see device? I connected it like you did and started it up in the order. But I keep getting a “No signal, Waiting…” message that does not appear to be doing anything.
Are you seeing a blue screen with some pictures that kinda look like instructions for connection? Or are you seeing a black screen with a QR code? If its the black screen, you should power off your RC2 and wait for the 2nd monitor to stop displaying the black screen and turn into the blue screen. Then power back on the RC2. You should then see a little icon on the bottom-center of the blue screen change from an "X" to a checkmark. If you are having trouble seeing the blue screen, try completely disconnecting the transmitter from the RC2 and ONLY power-up your 2nd monitor and the video receiver dongle. That should 100% show you the blue screen Im talking about above.
So the blue screen with the instructions pops up and the checkmark appears. However it then goes to a black screen with a QR code and just sits on “No signal, waiting…” I then proceeded to shut the remote down and restart it, and it pretty much does that everytime.
@@DanielC-nf6mv That sucks, man. Im sorry to hear that. Have you tried to plug the "send" dongle (the one that plugs into the RC2) into anything else? Like your phone or whatever. To see if you get the same problem with other devices. It might just be that you have a bad unit. I would order another one on Amazon and if it works, just return the "bad" set.
@@DanielC-nf6mv Sorry for the trouble, brother. Ive got one from Amazon and 2 from AliExpress and all 3 worked. Ive had other folks tell me the SmartSee worked for them with other monitors (TVs and stuff) so Im hoping you have a rare "bad" one.
I dont know, brother. Sorry. But I think I saw another video where a guy used a "capture card" and the right cables with the right connections to connect between his RC2 and his iPad.
