The Wabash River between Clinton and Terre Haute, IN was my playground in the 60's and 70's. When are they ever going to paint the rail bridges? I guess they'll just wait until a train falls in the river and then wring their hands. The next rail bridge to the south, crossing the river just above Wabash Valley Resources (a fertilizer manufacturer), was where we would set up a zip line between the bridge abutments and wet our butts in the Wabash at the low point of the line over the middle of the river. A friend, unafraid of heights, would scramble up the inclines and walk over the tops of the bridge arches. Unsurprisingly, he later became an iron worker, helping to build new power plants. When I was a young man, a massive coal fired power plant towered over the river just below where the WVR is located. It is hard to believe it is all gone, not a trace except for the footprints of the mountainous coal piles. One could see the the plant's smokestacks for miles. Good memories. It's an interesting and beautiful area, if one knows where to look.

VERY interesting story! Thank you for sharing! And I agree. I was born in Clinton in 1958, so I've spent my whole life here. My step Dad used to work on a crew where they painted bridges and I still remember him helping with that railroad bridge and it being a shiny Silver afterwards, but it seems that is obviously no longer a priority any more sadly, like so many other things see we nowadays left to rust away. I spent a lot of time as well in the river bottoms over on the Parke County side as that was a great place for myself and my cousin to test out our aiming skills with our pellet guns on the Pidgeon's that were roosting in the holes up in the railroad bridge. Myself, I only crossed that railroad bridge one time on a dare. The grates they used for the walkway, you could see straight through to the River below (you can see at the 1:40 mark what I mean) and I was convinced I was not going to make it to the other side without falling through one of them to my death below..lol. But as you say, good memories I would not trade for anything. Its so sad that the kids today will never experience the simple things we did growing up. And Clinton is now pretty much a ghost town. The car dealerships: Mikes Motors, Clinton Ford are all gone now, as are both Bowling Alleys..(The Lucky Strike on Main St. and the Paradise Bowl up on Crompton Hill.) And we have loss numerous building to fires, which are now empty lots. definitely not the same as it was. I appreciate you taking the time to watch the video(s). I've only been doing all of this for a month. Never had a drone before and never a RU-vid channel, but I'm trying to get better at making these videos so hopefully people will subscribe to it! You Take Care !! ❤

Wow! Nice, slow cinematic moves! Good choice of music, too. That little drone does a fine job. You should be pleased.

Thank you as always for your encouragement and kind comments. For $299, I honestly could not be happier with it. Perhaps someday if and when I can retire and have more time to devote to doing all of this, I may try to get a better one, but for now, its been a great drone to learn with. I'm still trying to be smoother with the control sticks. I still need to figure out how to change the setting in the Go Fly app to slow them down. ❤

@@OldBonesDronePilot You'll figure it out, I have no doubt. I believe I've seen something like "global settings" that allow modifications to the speed of camera movements. Just can't recall on which model. I'm still learning, as well. Did my first outdoor wedding today. It sure is a lot different than recording landscapes!

@@cloudwalkwv Fingers crossed I will get there at some point! 🤞🤞 And yes, I definitely need to figure out how to make some adjustments to my movements to the Camera wheel as well as the Yaw for turns. And that's AWESOME that you did a wedding!! That would be cool if you can at some point post that video as well. Something I hope to possibly do when I retire and have the time to get my 107 commercial license down the road.

Love the river veiw! It would be interesting to see following the railroad tracks all the way up past White' construction plant, through the country

I know you are a big fan of the Wabash River videos Helen. Yes, that would be a great idea for a future video. I may end up waiting to closer to fall when the leaves are starting to change color and begin falling off the trees. Right now as you can see from even this video, a lot of the things down below are covered by all the green leaves and can't be seen from above. But I am making a note to remind myself of your request. Thank you as always for taking the time to watch and leave a positive comment. I sincerely appreciate it! ❤️

Nice video. FWIW: the first 4 or 5 flights with mine I had about the same angle of horizon tilt. There was a firmware update last weekend and after it updated I did a gimbal calibration (on my dining room table no less) and ever since have a flat horizon. Just sayin', my experience.

Thank you ! I've only had my Mini 4K for a month, so this is all still a BIG learning challenge for me and to be 100 % honest, I really do not know what you mean about "Same angle of horizon tilt".. does this mean the gimbal isn't recording the horizon level I assume? And if so, I did not know that or see it. But it sounds like that is something I need to do then as well and recalibrate it. I sincerely appreciate you seeing this issue as I am trying to make these videos only look better! ❤

@@OldBonesDronePilot Scroll to 0:13 for example, and look at the sky / horizon (tops of the trees) "line". The left side of the horizon line is further down (more sky) than the right side. That is a "tilted" horizon. Gimbal is very, very, very slighted tilted down on the left. In one of the menu's, forgot which one, there is a place to do the gimbal calibration, either in auto mode or manual mode. Do the auto mode. Quad must be on a flat, level surface when doing it. Takes less than a minute usually. You generally will see some horizon tilt when doing a yaw too fast but it normally will recover in a few seconds unless it is real windy up high. I get horizon tilt sometimes on my phone or DSLR pictures and I know I don't have one leg shorter than the other and I know that my name is not "Ilean". LOL (Just holding the camera crooked). Hope this helps.

@@11290slk Yes, I see what you mean. I just assumed that was the natural curvature of the horizon. Looking at the lines of the bottom of the railroad bridge looked level in comparison, so that was my focus point I guess. I am definitely going to take your advice and do the auto calibration on the gimbal to make sure its correct for any future flights with it. Otherwise unlike you, I think I do have one leg shorter than the other! 😂. Again, I appreciate your advice about all of this. Yet another learning opportunity for me.❤

Hello..Thank you for watching ! I use a editing program called Capcut to make my videos. This was just a random piece of music I picked from the Free section it offers. So no artists name on it. This doesn't help much I know, but this is all it shows: "Cool, Calming Acoustic Guitar" (1565470) ❤️
