Looks like a major improvement.. the only thing I dont like is the tripod hole attachment, that should have been built in.. the price is also really high, will wait for discounts. Hopefully dji dont abandon the product after 6 months like they did with Pocket 2.

Wow, I haven't watched this channel in a LONG time. I have the Pocket 2. At this time the Pocket 3 is almost twice the price of the Pocket 2. Yes, the Pocket 3 is better, but the Pocket 2 still is a good alternative to a big video camera. Since Shorts and vertical shots are usually viewed on a small phone screen, cropping a Pocket 2 video is no problem. Yes, Pocket 2 doesn't shoot 4K60 in low light, but why bother wasting space on a small sensor video? Also, my Samsung Ultra seems to be even better in some instances so I no longer even bring my Pocket 2 with me all the time. Times have changed in the last few years. Cell phone video is getting very good especially with portrait mode video and AI features. The vertical Pocket shots- why no use a cell phone? DJI waited too long to release this Pocket 3. I say there is too much overlap now in 2024. Small mirrorless cameras are better than ever. Phones are getting better. Gimbals are cheap. $500 for another option, that isn't that useful everywhere is another device that may sit at home.
I agree..actually decided not to upgrade a Pocket 3 because to me it loses the advantage of a Pocket 2 over a phone on a gimbal, which is filming while being discreet.
Great breakdown Young! Osmo Pocket 3 has been amazing for me. I have been happy with what it provides. Great video quality where I dont feel like I dont have to bring out my large A7IV to Vlog. It also doesnt draw too much attention to me unless people are actively staring. Now I don't have an excuse to not bring a camera with me now. (Just need to get a small sling bag or something now).

at 2:59 as soon as your eyes look up on the sky so the tracker can't see it, it begins to hunt like crazy. i wonder if pocket 4 could get a nose and mouth tracker too. too much like Fujifilm tracking now.

true! but i do find that pocket 3 is more adapted for current tech needs, 1) richer color and great skintone, 2) vertical shots. but pocket 1 still def does the job ;) one thing for pocket 3 is that i think i may finally need to upgrade my rather old laptop.....😅😅😅
Personally definitely not worth the upgrade if you are a hobbyist like me. Sure low light and night time videos are better but if most of your videos are taken during the day and occasional night shots then the Pocket 2 is more than enough. If the price of the pocket 3 was lower then it would have had more justification for an upgrade.
yeah, if you are not into taking too much face videos, then pocket 2 is fine. pocket 3 face skintone is so much better.. but then i do find that pocket 3 4k videos are super laggin on my laptop whereas pocket 2 video is fine... so, i am either thinking to upgrade my laptop or just use 2.7k on pocket 3 for more casual shooting...kinda silly i guess... in that sense, sticking to pocket 2 is good

This is so biased. She didn't even try to fix the banding in pocket 2 footage, and the pocket 2 that was 'very good' about a few months back has suddenly become trash! Pocket 3 is better of course but why clown pocket 2?
i never said it was trash.. i have been using my pocket 2 which I also bought with my money. I dont use face track in my videos and i never liked its color science but there are so many good points about pocket 2 which were the reasons i used pocket 2. now i have pocket 3, i do find pocket 3 superior. but of course, pocket 3 should be superior given its EXPENSIVE PRICE 🤑🤑🤑

DJI has almost doubled the price of its camera by going from V2 to V3. This is above all the great novelty. They have become very good at marketing: making the customer wait, adding 2 or 3 gimmicky things and selling it at a high price with overpriced options. Without me...
Tracking 6.0 could be better.. I say that cause during my workout it does stop tracking mii.. So hopefully on the next pocket 4 its tracking will be LOCKED ON 😉

You're lucky to get them there. In my part of the world they're really rare. Only ever seen one once before and managed to get some blurry footage of it. Next time you test out a camera and lens, they make a good subject to film in slo mo! @@Young360
thanks for the review and comparison tests. the wide angle does not seems to provide much difference though, nevertheless, its definitely so much upgrade than the previous models.

Glad you finally got your review up. Having issues w my pocket 3, images are ghosting around lights and having to back ev WAY down to keep from being over exposed. Never had to do that on my pocket 1, the color science is off I think as well. For the amount of money that we’ve paid for these devices, you would think they could get that all right before they ship it out and have us beta tested for them. Especially the highlight clipping.
The pocket 3 must have a 8:7 sensor ratio like gopro. When you go vertical it gives you a little more room above your head and crops the sides. If you took a 4k video and cropped it yourself you'd only have 1080P or maybe 2k at best. 3k is a good compromise. Would be cool if they let us shoot in 5.3k and use the whole sensor. Then you can crop for vertical and landscape afterwards.
I have just got the pocket 2 , but i have had a nightmare as the device wont connect to my S22 to download the app in order to use the camera , The screen is now locked , There is no information anywhere on how to unlock the screen , so i am unable to go to settings to re set the camera . even the store i got it from had no idea . So they have returned it and i got a refund . I like the camera but want to use it on a tripod to film myself when fishing so i can use the wireless mic , but not so sure this camera is now the right one for the job , Any advice would be appreciated as im new to vlogging .
That's great and clear enough.. I have also started Vlogging but I will try DJI pocket 2 first (tight budget 🤭🤭). lf I get enough subscriber then will move to pocket 3... what you suggest me??..😅
Not being able to make 360 Panoramas combined with the lack of true vertical shooting is a major problem as this would enable the camera to be used in real estate virtual tours and 360 shots of any interior. Maybe it is possible with the wide angle lens and a firmware update?

Thanks for this amazing comparison! I really like the bokeh that's coming from the Pocket 3, I thought my Pocket 2 had night vision but this is even better. I do have some questions about Pocket 3: - Can you connect your phone via USB-C? - Can you connect a microphone like the Rode Videomic GO II via USB-C or is a dongle needed? - Has livestreaming improved? - Does Webcam-Mode allow 4k resolution?
I see some one say that the OP3 is not sharp as they want. But they really don't know that OP3 have bigger sensor (1inch vs 1/1.7inch), so it will create strong focal effect (more blur in the background)
