Hello, we are from the ORDRO brand and invite you to promote our camera products. We recently have a new pocket camera m5, which is very suitable for your promotion. If you are interested, we will send you an m5 prototype.
Pocket 2 is more durable, had it for more than 3 years, dropped it many times, and it's still going strong. Bought the Pocket 3, 7 months ago, and the flippy screen stopped flipping...so the pocket 3 is being repaired, and I'm back using the Pocket 2 again. Flip screen is a big problem on the Pocket 3!
I’ve heard and seen the same complaints on the FB group. I’m glad to know people aren’t being dramatic and it’s actually a real thing. Thanks for sharing.
I found that they both looked about the same in uncontrolled lighting environments, but you really started to see a difference when we went into low light. I added some project files in case you want to download them and see them without the RU-vid compression.
I have spent the past few days watching all your "pocket vs" reviews as I am looking at purchasing a few rigs for content creation. I just wanted to say these are the most helpful and detailed videos I have watched on the subject. Thanks for the awesome work!
I'm still using the Pcoket 1...In Fact, I have two of them. For making RU-vid videos I found that no one really cares much about the visuals if the audio is good. I connect the DJI Mic 1 to the Pocket 1 and all good. My best videos are with the Pocket 1, while the videos I made with more expensive cameras only did so so...Great video as always:)
Great point. yes, I find that no matter what as long as my story is good it doesn’t matter what camera I’m using. I love the Osmo pocket 3 but also own the Osmo pocket one and that is a great camera.
Easily the best video on the topic. The effort that went into this in-depth comparison is simply amazing. I think I'm happy with my Pocket 2 for now, the difference in Image Quality does not justify a big purchase such as this one. Later down the line I will surely pick it up, but I am in no rush after watching this video. Thanks!
What about screen flip issue? My friend was charged 120 USD to fix the spring mechanism. That's the reason I am sceptical to buy one. Will wait for dji action 5 may be it comes with 1 inch sensor? When will dji pocket 4 would launch? In 2025 August?
Thanks for taking the time to create this detailed comparison! Your hard work really shows, and your production skills have seriously leveled up over the past year. Fantastic job, Sir!
Great video. I have been hemming and hawing for months on how to upgrade my production quality. This was super helpful, thanks so much for the time and effort.
I just got my OP3 two days ago. So, I'm just getting started. But, I watched a ton of videos about the OP3 before I bought it. For me, I got the OP3 for the 10-bit video and the larger monitor. With 10-bit I can match it up with my FX30 more easily. At 9:11, I could see that the OP3 had better bokeh and separation than the OP2. Probably due to the 1-inch sensor, would be my guess. I'm taking a vacation on the 20th, when I will be filming a lot with the OP3. Much of which will be for a short film I'm working on. This weekend I will be filming with the OP3 with the DJI ND filters I got. So, I hope to have some footage to share with on my channel and the OP3 Facebook group. Thanks again for another excellent comparison video. Cheers.
I don't doubt that the Pocket 3 is a better video camera, it is newer and larger. When I had a look at one I decided not to upgrade from a Pocket 2 because the main reason I got a an Osmo Pocket camera was to be able to film walking videos more discreetly than with a phone on a gimbal. Imo...the 3 is not much more discreet than a phone on a gimbal, especially with the horizontal screen. Saying that I would like to be able to film better videos at night, the Pocket 2 is really pushed to its limit and have to do more editing to keep the noise at an acceptable level. But a very informative video, it has made me think about just biting the bullet and getting a Pocket 3...will see :)
Thank you, I agree that the pocket two is more discrete, but the Osmo Pocket 3 can shoot horizontally even when the screen is vertical so I think it definitely is better than an iPhone when it comes to conspicuous shooting
The DJI Osmo Pocket 3 looks indeed better but I feel like with some video editing and Color setting etc. is possible to get the same result with the DJI 2 😅 The difference is not that much.
Amazing work!!! Not a vlogger, but want to make family memories. Live in Southern California and have a 4 yr old daughter. Lots to do here and want to capture a lot of these moments. I don't have a new editing rig. I did notice the difference in the vlog quality between the 2. Still kind of undecided if the difference is worth it. Not on social media to shoot in vertical either. I appreciate the details and your work.
I still have my OP2, and have zero issues with it when I first purchased it back in 2022. Knowing my crazy self, I’ll wind up getting the OP3 because of the bigger screen. 15:03 Hopefully DJI will have whatever glitches the OP3 had in the beginning squared away and issue free. Great video, my man. 🥃
I still prefer osmo pocket 2 it’s just more pocketable, small and discreet. People won’t feel intimidated when they get caught on recording or you won’t feell embarrassed when shooting in public
My thoughts are if you have the money and desire the quality, Go OP3. If you are casual and maybe just dipping your toes in the water, go OP2. You could also consider buying a used Sony ZV along with a pocket 2 for almost the same price as OP3 creator combo.
I film mostly vehicles moving slow while off roading, so I am concerned about the quality of the Active track on the 2, otherwise I’d definitely go with the 2.
I have both and prefer the 3 , i have not used them together but was planning on shooting car rollers with both, one in the front and one in the back, but after watching this awesome video, Im not sure if ill be able to make the colors match ...so good luck to me 😆
My friend was billed 120 USD for screen flip issue. That's insanely priced for a product which has manufacturing defect. Since he purchased from other country warranty was denied for 15 days old product. One big reason to stay away from pocket 3. I wouldn't mind to buy one if it's priced equally to pocket 2
i have the pocket 2 and still using it a lot. i love to upgrade to pocket 3 but i need a more durable and waterproof camera so i'll buy the insta 360 ace pro
I had the 2, sold it and got the 3. The 3 is fantastic but when you are vlogging (you mentioned this point) it totally blurs the background and you can't see much of the environment you are in. For this reason I literally just repurchased the 2 for an upcoming trip.
All of my videos are shot with Pocket 2. Whenever there's more than a few clouds, I can't really record. And if I do, the video always looks washed out, no matter how much I try to color code.
I still have half of the video to watch but I am noticing that the Pocket 2 video quality is much brighter than the pocket 3. Just wondering if that was a setting in the camera?
Thank you for the great comparison Vedio. I’m not a blogger and I don’t have any osma pocket cameras but I want to capture the best family moments with the qood quality camera. I just upgraded I phone 15 pro so I don’t know it’s still worth to get on a pocket 3 or not 🤔
I have this camera but i still find myself choosing the Go-pro because it's waterproof and drop proof plus on go pro i can share the videos easy the osmo isn't compatible with sharing.
That’s good to know what version of Gopro do you have? I have a Gopro hero 12 and I’m making a course on it now. Pretty soon I will verse the Osmo Pocket 3 to see which one holds up better as far as image quality. Any test you would like me to do?
@@thefilmalliance Just bought a refurbed 2 combo for $300 (ebay) with 2yr warranty. Lately, I mostly shoot metal fab shop YT videos at 1080P, I've been shooting stills for 52 years, video for 20yr+ and still love doing it. Thanks again for the video.
@@thefilmalliance No, I've not brought the Pocket 3 or 2 yet. I'm thinking of buying the Pocket 2 in due course. Your video really helped me decide. Thank you.
great review, this is exactly what I wanted to know and more In the camera tracking part, it seemed the pocket 2 struggled to track very noticeably... But then later on you show the shot in the museum and it seems to track well on the tigers head @ 17:05 ?
Thats actually a great question. I created a camera quiz to help you figure out which camera is best for what you are using it for. Have you taken it yet?
@@thefilmalliance Thank you for replying, I truly appreciate it. I’ve taken the quiz with different price ranges and I’ve gotten the Sony ZV-1F, with the OSMO Pocket 3 as a close second, and the Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark III. I’m contemplating between the 3 at the moment.
I just can't withstand the blueish tint in highlights on the pocket 3, other than that, I love the image coming out of the Pocket 3 much more than the pocket 2 but the blue tint is dealbreaker for me
@thefilmalliance I have used only the pocket 2. I don't have the pocket 3 yet. Does adjusting WB clears it up? I thought it was more than the WB settings because when comparing, even though overall WB looked the same for scenes from both cameras, pocket 3's highlight looked more bluish but only in the highlight areas
Hey can I please have your thoughts on the Sony alpha 6400? I’m a beginner buying first camera and I was planning on getting this one with a 50mm prime lens to start
Thats hard to say. It depends on what you’re using it for. I created a camera quiz to help you figure out which camera is best for you Have you taken it yet? Have you thought about the ZV-E10?
@@thefilmalliance I don’t want to do any videography necessarily more so still shots. I was also looking at the Sony A7iii. This one is at the top of budget but Iv heard great things from it. The ZV-e10 is definitely a better price point then the a7iii, any of your thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated❤️ I’ll take the quiz right now also!
Seriously I hope DJI can introduce a 50mm pocket 3. I can mount them together and take video, one wide shot one medium shot.😂 both cameras add together is less than 1k usd.😅
I’ve dropped the Osmo Pocket 3 twice and so far so good. I do think the Gopro will hold up better to drops, especially when you put it in a protective case. Thanks for the input
The instant separation between the subject and the background Alone is worth the extra price, better yet the better video quality and all the other upgrades.
9:55 this is why i carry 3 sd cards 256gb each xD Running out of space is never an option! 9:05 this shot shows that the OP3 has better dynamic range and bokeh, the footage looks much more pleasant to look at and the sky isn't blown. Pretty good stuff!
Wow, this is by far the best side by side comparison of these two cameras that I've seen. Thanks so much for all your effort. I wonder, can the blown out skies of the Pocket 2 be compensated for by slightly underexposing, or will this then make the rest of the image too dark? Or is that a simple recovery in editing software, as long as the histogram wasn't clipped when shooting?
Been looking to buy one of these thnks for the vid. Would like to request you more people video comparison, i want to use for friend and fam trips, so would like to see how these manage skin tone, sport motion, facial expressions, and inside and out side light videos thanks!
The flip screen feature is not necessary. If you feel it is, you're probably not a good camerman, honestly! I'll stick with 2 and save a lot of money and avoid screen repairs!
Im thinking about hunting these down in japan im new to vloging and cameras stuff but my questions is it worth getting a used creator combo set with camera or just getting the used camera and buy the accessories later down the line i wont be doing anything advance but i like the portability and features
I've been looking for an easier solution to shoot my boys band in multicam. And I was thinking three or four pocket two's would be the key. Thanks for the confirmation! No skies.
Given the price of the Osmo Pocket 2 compared to the Osmo Pocket 3, is it still worth picking up a OP2 at this point? I currently have an iPhone 13 Mini and wanted to purchase a OP3 for an upcoming trip but currently they are unavailable/sold out. Would a OP2 be a decent option? I also have a GoPro12 my partner will be utilizing for the trip. Thanks!
I still can not decide which one to choose. At the beginning I was thinking about canon g7x m3, but then I saw your video about the best cameras in 2024 and stopped at zve10.I really like your channel and trust your choice.
Which would you recommend for UGC? Thank you Wow. 🤯 Thank you for the video I came to this video bcuz I wanted a pocket 3 But after looking at your review I believe that a pocket 2 maybe best for me. Since 1 I’m just starting. 2 With everything you shot 2 was my favorite.
