My review of the DJI Phantom 3 Advanced, fantastic piece of technology which can turn any low budget short film into something that looks super professional with lots of aerials.
It's April '23 and after many years of flying govt stuff, I decided to unpack & dust-off my old Phantom 3. Your video is totally awesome. Thank you for taking time to produce it-!! PS...it's interesting how far technology has evolved since the Phantom era---
Hey buddy. Interesting review. Did you know that DJI recommend you do the compass calibration first horizontal like you did, but then vertical with the camera facing DOWN. It's designed that way to be less stress on the gimbal.
Its still a GREAT QUAD 2019 i have all the dji ones that MATTER.THIS ONE is still my FAVORITE QUAD.STILL FLYING THE shit out of it 3yrs later. STILL GOING ON STRONG. A BEAUTIFUL QUAD.DJI BEST ONE THEN AND NOW.A PLEASURE TO OWN AND FLY. SINCE I GOT IT.
It's Still a great Quad to date2019 Ive been flying the one ive had since 2017 and it is solid flawless and my favorite GO TO QUAD. IT HAS NEVER LET ME DOWN. WHEN EVER I Need IT TO DO WHAT I HAVE NEEDED IT TO DO A BAD TO THE BONE BAD ASS QUAD.
Am interested in the Phantom 3, have little to no experience and am doing the research for now... thank you for taking the time to publishing a very informative, in-depth overview / demo. Gives me the impression that this model would be an excellent entry level choice. Thank you!
Just got a phantom 3 from my neighbor.. bit difficult to DL DJI GO but I got done.. it's a 7 year old drone.. any suggestions would help people as I'm 90% new to drones.. only had the cheapos
Great video. I just purchased a P3 PRO and can't wait till I get it. Quick question, can you use a Samsung 10 inch tablet with this? Also do you need cellular service on your device to see maps. Thanks.
A 10 inch should be good, I don't personally have an ipad but I think they are 9.7 inch and my friend put his in and it fit. You can browse maps when you are on wifi, so when you go out without wifi they stay there.
Because most of the time most people's drones get confused and crash is the water. Look at videos of it happing. It mostly happens when your flying low.
Vertically, I set my limit to 400 feet for safety reasons (and going higher is useless, you can't see anything), but you can go multiple KM. I have gone horizantally 3km myself still with great connection on the control and video transmission, and you can get a couple more KM. But in a city you will have greatly diminished range due to all the interference.
2016 OU DATED Are their any current DJi phantom 3 tutorials out there that use the latest DJI Go software The remote screens & screen function buttons in these 2016 you tube videos not relevant to the remote screen now present with latest DJI Go app download
I' ve had mine for about 2 years now. It records locally in Hi Def but it streams in 720p. The 'Lightbridge' telemetry is pretty good. I have had my drone out o 1100 meters on a clear day with no obstructions before it started to get flaky. Normally your good to about 600 m in most conditions. They key is to have the home properly recorded before takeoff and have the auto-return-home settings (altitude especially) properly set so you wont lose the drone if you lose telemetry.
Apparently the advanced came out when it was just 1080p but they added firmware to make it also shoot in 2.7k. 2.7k is higher resolution than 1080p if that is what you are asking, but any DJI phantom 3 advanced you purchase will be able to shoot in 2.7k
Yep, thats how you start the motors manually. Just pull and hold. You can do the same to turn them off, just don't accidentally flip it over when powering it down (done it before).
I don't know if they are still manufacturing brand new P3A's right now (of course they still support them, will repair, support with apps, etc). I got mine a few years ago for around 800. Prob could be cheaper now, although at the time I thought that was a great price when a new P4 was like 1200 or 1400.
It was $800 a few years ago. Not sure what it is now, or if they are still making it. DJI certainly still supports it, but again I'm not sure they're making new ones. Specifically cause they have the Phantom 4 and each of it's types (regular, advanced, pro), and then all the new drones it has: the mavic, the mavic mini, etc etc etc. I do think they have a Phantom 3 in production, which is likely an upgraded phantom 3, but last I checked it wasn't any cheaper than the $800. I bet you could find a used one for a decent price.
A bit of mist and fog would be fine if it rolls in while your filming and you land immediately, but I would not recommend trying to start filming like this. Moisture is the problem, and if it gets in the motors or the circuit board, it will fall out of the air. I have done this once before and it was fine, but I really don't think its smart to do this. As per wind, it can handle it, but it will make getting smooth shots harder, and if the wind is too strong, return to home might not make it back.
Pretty good, the delay is not noticeable at all, only time I ever noticed some lag was when I was flying 2.5km away and went over the top of a hill, where there was about a 2 second delay and connectivity was poor.
You did make a great buy, definitely the cheapest drone (and especially with black friday sale) that is as functional as ones that are twice the price. The p3 standard has bad range and a bad remote. Very happy with my p3, but I bought a mavic because I really needed that portability.
Not sure how things are in euros. For me portability is a huge factor so the mavic was really the only thing that allowed me to take my drones on things like hikes, and I can also have it on me at all times so I don't need to prepare it at all.
Very nice review man, also have a phantom advance, it's just a great machine, in my opinion is one of the best price quality ratio drones. Big like and subscribe from me.
Camera is a bit laggy when it shows on your phone. However, this is *not* what the picture will like like when you pull it up on your computer, etc. There will be no lag, will look very smooth and professional. Long story short: what it shows you on your phone is not the quality of the recording, it's just quickly streaming what it is seeing to you. Source: he mentions this, and I have a P3A.
I'm folding hands in front of you I'm touching your feet please give me a drone I am very poor i tried a lot but i am not able to buy a drone Whenever I see a drone flying, I cry a lot I wish I had a drone tooyou please help me please
Well he covered a lot of ground so..best thing to do is to pull it up on your laptop, and then rewind it quickly every time you want to have him repeat what he said.
