WOW!! I have been watching a ton of videos about the pocket 3 and you are the only one whom talked about the bitrate and how much storage it takes. That was something I didn't even factor in and thanks for all the pros and cons of the pocket 3.
probably because a lot of content creators work on a gigantic desktop with 16TB drives, not such a big factor. I moved onto the macbooks because of it's insane efficiency/portability/power management, and I cant go back. Hard drive space is suddenly a precious resource again 🤣🤣
Thanks for mentioning how important it is to have low bitrate ability on the Sony. This is so important that no other creators ever talk about. All they want to do is burn through hard drives needlessly shooting raw or the highest bitrate for some strange reason. I am going to eventually get a Sony camera because they seem to be the only company to offer this space saving functionality. This would eventually pay for the camera instead of buying so many hard drives.
thanks, audio has been a long standing issue on this channel, took a few tries to get it right, and essentially dynamic mic and be there. I got the shure because of way less handling noise and clean audio, was using another dynamic for a long while, and every time I had a meeting and had to reposition the mic, it was noisy as hell and drove me mad 🤣
Just recieved my pocket... I thought alot of it. and my sony a6300...need a wider lens, monitor and so forth. the pocket 3 is great fast setup. not so much hassle and so on. its going to be my only creator cam
the slow motion is good with some action and scenes, not so great for products, where I tend to use longer focal lengths like 50 and above. I have another channel and I tried to make it work for product b-roll and reverted to big camera, so it depends what the b-roll is for, travel, places, yes, products, not so much. Technically, the slow motion does as intended and works very well.
Hi! Great content! you video just answer my question on how to connect Shure sm7b with DJI Oslo pocket 3. And just a quick question for your boom arm, as I have the same Mic setup, may I ask what brand and model that you are using? Thanks in advance.
innogear large amzn.to/46IiSJb, definitely not the prettiest but it is strong and big. been using for a few years now, no issues. i added an S hook at the bottom to hang my monitor headphones when not filming videos ( for daytime calls and editing)
i think that is how the pocket behaves, ive been looking on a big screen trying to figure it out. it’s definitely not as crispy, and the continuous AF doesn’t really let you know what’s going on. in theory, there should be quite a bit of leeway with these smaller sensors.
@@ROBUTERU seems to be the case, but the fact that my sweater is sharp, is a bit confusing since I have the sharpening down to -1. The background is really sharp 😅
Hey Gary! Love your content! As a fellow videographer, audio monitoring is key for me. I've been trying to connect my DJI Pocket 3 or DJI Mic 2 to my bone conduction headphones via Bluetooth while recording for wireless audio monitoring. I've asked around on RU-vid and the DJI forum but no luck so far. Any chance you could share a wireless solution? Thanks a bunch!...... really appreciate your help here...
AFAIK, nothing works with bluetooth other than the mic2. other bluetooth mics/headsets dont seem to have any way of connecting, that is a feature that insta360 can do, dont think DJI though.
it would sound ok, I did it in my previous mic review. the bigger issue is that i can catch the sound of the kids as well as a slight echo, the dynamic mic is great at excluding background noise, no big deal to setup since it’s already configured for the big camera setup, the only addition was the usb-c to TRS adapter
I think it's ok, and many content creators dont care too much, even larger channels, but 4:57 is a look that small cameras simply cant achieve and it does put the production quality in a different league.
@@CharlieVN Fully respect your opinion, but to me, it looks drastically different :). I think Pocket is great, just that small cameras, imo, to date, fall apart in a studio setting. No troll or flame just my 2 cents. Great video though!
The DJI is definitely out of focus on your face the whole time. It's obvious on a 43" 4k monitor. That could be a deal breaker. Focus is everything :( hmmm
there's no way if you can tell if you're in focus or not, one of the downsides of this camera, you're kind of guessing that the focus is on you, while the sony has a solid history of reliability and the peace of mind of the moving dot on your eye. This goes with the general useage as well, I can use the small AF point of the pocket 3, but it's kind of fiddly and kind of defeats the purpose of having something in focus. Active track is another option, however, way too distracting up close.
that is one of the issues with the AF of the pocket 3, it doesnt show any indication of what is in focus or the target, you're kind of guessing that it's the center subject. Tracking is an alternative if you're ok with the movements, however, I'm not the biggest fan as I find it distracting.
@@CharlieVN I got limited space (10x10 feet room) and DJI3 is still too wide. Shows all the crap I got. Really hard to frame a shot. Sure you can still used it as studio camera but I prefer 28mm or even 35mm for main angle. I usually crop Pocket 3 footage from "the studio" to get more acceptable framing :D. An my nose is too big without DJI3 :D. Hard to get it in the 28mm frame :P
The optical zoom or simply repositioning the camera will probably solve this. I’m using it in Studio in D-Log M next to my S5 II And I pretty shocked 😳 I can cut this cleanly.
@@pureheartvisuals Do you mean crop in post by "optical zoom"? I got 10x10 (feet) room, and with 20mm both side walls are in the shot ... not very pleasing. Considering crop factor of DJI P3, this F2 is more or less F5.5 in full frame terms (depth of field). And if you crop more we are getting into F8 territory. I'm not saying it cannot be studio camera, but if you got anything else like M43, APS-C or FF ... the other one will be better.
@@JoATTech I’m meant with the 2X Zoom in the OSMO Pocket 3. I’m not saying this is a direct comparison to a GH5, FX30 or the likes. My Studio is 12 x 13 with a pretty deliberate background.. I know no one camera fits everyone application. Mines is cutting clean as a second angle for talking head content and now also as my Zoom Cam.
