As an fpv pilot I thank you for making this video where we can see everything from your perspective while flying the drone, means a lot to see real world flight experience and not just cinematic shots.
I've been telling guys since the Crystalsky in 2016 that this was the way to go! To hell with messing about with a phone! The Smart Controller and now the RC Pro are perfect for getting up in the air quickly and if you need more screen real-estate/ brightness, just get the LifThor bracket and a 7-10" monitor. Feelworld sells 2200 nit monitors for around $200 or so. Another great feature is the ability to output video through the Mini HDMI port. Really nice if you'd like to play back footage or share the screen with someone else. Nice review!
I got the RC Pro to replace the iPad Mini 6 that was stolen. I'll never look back! This is the best controller EVER! I just love it! Makes getting my Air 2S in the air so much easier and quicker. No cables to fumble with, just fire it up and GO! Great review Marcus! Thanks!
The best way to the fly the Mavic 3 is with the RC Pro controller. Great unboxing and first look at the controller. And thanks for the shout out in the video. Enjoy your new controller.
Mine was dead too! Can't wait to get it out in a few to see how the birds fly! I bought the Scotty's Case to attach to my Camera Strap when I work with the drones.
Hi Marcus.... Congratulations !! Your going to love it. My first purchased drone was the Air 2S bundled with the RC Pro. Been loving every minute of flying. I never wanted to use my phone for FPV. It was a toss up between Tripltek 8 or the RC Pro. I'm glad I chose the RC Pro. I do DJI fly safe right from the controller for geozone unlocking. My RTH with Air 2S have always been spot on the pad. Have fun my man..... 😎
Well thanks to your fine review I finally decided to splash out and get one of them controllers and it came on next day delivery a couple of days ago and I’m really happy with it, got that case for it off Amazon too. It’s much better than using the N1 controller especially now that it also works with the Mini 3 pro, in fact I just pack Mavic 3 in a smaller case along with it in my backpack so I’m covered for all flying situations. That new C1 certification for EU came in handy too as I often travel there although in UK, they were not having it as the Mavic 3 is just too heavy a risk for them, I never thought they would anyway. But for now, in EU at least the flight restrictions for Mavic 3 are less stringent.
@5:30 just smush the foam down good with your thumb a few times until it deforms and doesn't depress the 5-way any more. It is designed to be able to leave the sticks installed, but like you I don't trust leaving them there. I have the RC-N1 Sunnylife case as well. It has actually recesses molded in to the top for the thumbsticks, and it actually does fit really well. Still, I don't trust my luck and usually remove the sticks and stow them.
I love the controller. I use it with my Air2S. I am more a fan of this controller over the DJI RC which in the heat the screen goes dark once in awhile despite the firmware updates. Of course I was using the RC with the Mini3.
Hi Marcus: I seen most all of your videos for the Mavic 3 and the RC PRO and I got a Christmas present I received the mavic 3 combo and waited 2 weeks for the RC Pro controller to get here , now I have flown it several times, and theirs alot to learn on how to use all the functions. Now maybe you can answer me this question? This RC PRO has a mini HDMI slot I:m assuming that it's a hdmi out so my question is (before I purchase the necessary equipment) would i be able to put a HDMI cable in the RC Pro and the other end into a 10in Monitor and be able to see on the Monitor the same thing thats on the RC PRO Controller ? Thanks and I Love your Vids and it has been very helpful.
Hey Marcus,You have to move the screen recording manually through the files from internal storage to the sd card. Another thing some of us have been having the new Fly app v 1.7.4 crashing a lot, like 10 times back to back on 1 flight. I ended up doing a factory reset that brought it to v 1.6.12 with no problems. I learned later that people are just lowering the sensitivity of ads-b on v 1.7.4 and that is taking care of the problem. Love your videos.
Great video Marcus, Congrats on the RC PRO. Thanks for doing this great video..luv the nice bright screen in sunlight & as you pointed out, better connection w/ the drone esp w/o having to point the controller LUV IT.. So what’s that RC PRO cost so I can figure it in when I finalize which drone to get .. liking the Mavic 3 you flew with here.. However initially might start with the Mini 3 Pro -THANKS AGAIN for your efforts .. S. King
Hi Marcus since it's pro version can it be compatible with all the DJI drones including the new ones with O4 version. I just came across this video Welbeck here My regards to the family
Looks great Marcus 👍 really want one now after using the mini 3 rc controller and like myself been flying the mini 3 for a long time now but I think I will take the mavic 3 up later you forget how powerful that drone is 😁 as usual Marcus great video 😁👍👌 🇬🇧
I wonder if that's an iPhone thing because I never have any problems with my android when it is hot out. But I do use a screen cover when I am in the direct sun.
Marcus are the function buttons saved for the drone you are flying, in other words are button assignments air craft specific or are they set for all air craft you fly with that controller?
Thank you for your review, Marcus. One quick question: while recording a video, can you shoot simultaneously photos, without interrupting the video recording function, since it provides separate buttons for a photo shoot and video recording?
Do you think DJI limits the DJI RC to 700 nits artificially to not hurt sales of the RC pro? I suspect its the same screen. Do you think they could increase the brightness of the DJI RC with a firmware update? Just a thought.
I always enjoy your videos. I too bought the RC Pro about the same time as you, so was interested in your thoughts about it. I love it and consider it one of my best purchases. But watching you (and have wondered about this many times watching your videos), why do you not have your settings too Imperial mode? You are constantly attempting to convert meters to mph and all measurements (altitudes) distances in the US are ft and miles.
I can tell you that this RC PRO does have an external microphone 🎙 for you to record your voice and also you cannot record on your external SD Card either. Those functions do not work with this remote. If you wanna record on the RC PRO, you will need to transfer that data into your PC via type C to USB or you can transfer that data to your SD using the RC PRo. Thanks 🙏 for sharing, overall great video Sir.
Did the conversion from meters to mile per hours since I live in the states and use imperial measurements. Looks like about 44 miles per hour in sport mode which is very good for sure. Never had the RC controller go dim in 90+ temps but the extra 300 nits would be nice, but the price is really high for that extra brightness. Do you know what resolution the screen recording is on the controller?
@@IdahoQuadcopter 1080p is a good upload size for RU-vid videos. I upload flights from my Mini 3 in 4k 30 and it takes a very long time to get the HD version of the videos uploaded. Use the RC controller mostly so my screen recording is not of very good quality for uploads.
I’ve owned a DJI RC pro for 6 months and the right side stick stopped working mid flight cause the drone to fly to its left on its own nearly causing it to crash. It turns out that the only way to fix this is to take it apart and clean the wire base for the joystick due to dust. The problem is there’s not a single video tutorial on the web where someone demonstrates how to do this
I have seen a test in excellent conditions that the rc beat the distance to the mini 3 pro by 100 meters over the 1200 dollar pro version. That was very interesting. But the 1200 dollar one has many more capability so it is an interesting situation as I simply want to fly and not the additional items, but there was no comparison on the mavic 3. I found it so odd that the distance I could take the mini 3 pro out over several updates has increased and do not even know why. Also my eyes are for some reason extremely sensitive to light so the little rc pro controller is quite bright to me and I do NOT have any anti glare cover on it either.
great video. thanks. i followed ur process of binding my air2s to RC pro and i get this message, can u please help. please note earlier i had connected my air2s to the RC-N1 that came with the air2s kit. the message i am getting is: connected device not bound to aircraft. you may continue flying with the connected device 5 times(s). connect to ur bound device: Remote controller (SN:3QDZJ****76KP) to continue or perform the following steps 1. Change Bound Device 2. Unbind Device 3.Cancel also if i cancel, then i can still use my drone with the RC Pro. am confused what this message is and should I continue using it. thanks for your help
@IdahoQuadcopter thank you. u mean option 1 - Change Bound Device? When I click that, and try to bind, I get another error - "Aircraft Bound to another account, Change Account and try (-53268). I changed acct login to both the email IDs - the only ones I used ever - and I stil
