Just got the mini 4 Pro. Game changer. Photos are amazing even tho the 3 Pro had same camera. Also loving the rc2 vs n1. They seem to give with one and and creep in with the other.

It all hinges on who THEY share it with I guess. And is it purely a log or does it encode camera grabs too? Who knows...

If you battery isn’t performing well you won’t be notified but the DJI analysis could. Airdata already do this

Howdy Gavin!! First, thank you so much for posting this video!! Second, please speak to the Governor to have a Premier League team in Beverly!! Next, if you notice "MOST" drone videos on RU-vid and other sites are filmed during the day!! DJI products work phenomenally well during the DAY! The problem with DJI DRONES; "flying away" at night!! I deduce DJI has many flyaways at night; they are stressed and need documentation to support their premise "user error!!" Why? One night, I was flying my AIR 3; after a "battery" change; all of sudden; the drone was headed to the Gulf of Mexico; 1500 miles away!!! Later, I saw the flight plan on the the controller!! I made DJI aware of the issue!! DJI went nuts! DJI saw my flight plan!! I thought XI Jinping was going to call to verify my issue!! In your video you mention "You felt uncomfortable" about DJI having "your" personal info!! FYI: As soon as you take off they have your information!! DJI has all your flight data!! Theses guys DON'T "ASK FOR PERMISSION!" they already have it!!

Great update video. When you are transferring the images from your RC to the phone, are those full resolution or do I still need to go to the aircraft to get full resolution?

I've noticed that before and at first I didn't think about it like that even though I did flicked it off. I thought it was just in case you're drone fell out the sky or something like that, but then I thought. Well, they'll have a record of that anyway. So, that's when I decided to turn it off. 3:46 what’s so new about that feature the QR code? I’ve always had quick transfer on my air 3 and I have an sad card in my rc2

The only case I can think of where DJI pulling the flight logs would be helpful would be in a case where you are unable to recover the drone due to a malfunction. DJI could then pull the flight logs for you once you open the case. I'm glad they made this an option vs DJI Unlocking process which I have to do every time I fly in my backyard...would love a way to send the unlock request plus my LAANC request with one form.

They're a Chinese company, nothing is private. Off-the-shelf static and mobile drone trackers are also everywhere. Our local Army base has one installed with a 5km range. By the time you land both Beijing and the local authorities (police and air-regulatory services) have enjoyed the flight.

I can transfer from my drone to my phone but it would be nice if I could connect my phone to the RC pro to get screenshots off they’re not showing up on my drone. I think you said that’s possible, but I can’t get mine to do it. Is that possible?

DJI have brought out another update for the RC2 and although the Firmware for the RC2 has been installed but the update for the app has not updated. Is there a workaround?

I get it, i mean how many pilots do we see break the rules of altitude, VLOS, cloud distancing etc.. ?! Nobody ever admits too it, but flight telemetry can prove alot of that. And yes I thought the same thing when I found it thru the firmware. Cheers from Texas!

Excellent video Gavin. I have Air 3. I have 1.13.0 at my DJI Fly app at my RC 2 and 1.13.1 at my cell phone. I can make chick transfer's for the contains my DJI Fly and Air 3, but the sign of the controller you show doe not appears at the app so I can not do the screen records to my cell phone. Any idea? Thank you Gavin for the updater. Around two weeks ago I did the new DJI update that you discussed on my Samsung Galaxy A8 tablet that I use for my screen monitor to fly my DJI Mavic Air 2. This was a big mistake. The start-up screen now is locked on the "Before you fly", as you shown on your video. No matter where I touch on the screen nothing happens. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling and rebooting, nothing works. Do you think this might be a problem between DJI and Samsung? China may know too much already.

Logging flts, they do it anyway its only a few bytes (encrypted) onto IP onto CCP asking yes or no is a comfort courtesy

DJI RC2 screen appears to have changed: N Mode is now P Mode. Anyone notice? Seems to perform same function as N Mode. Just got the M4P last week and have had several updates.

I seem to have a disconnect............I just checked and my fly app is 1.13.1 and acft firmware also updated, but I don't see any place to turn on or off the flight record data you mention.............is there some place I need to log into for that, new to all this stuff?

Thanks for the info on updating the app. Regarding sharing flight records: Please, it really does not matter if you check the box or not. People see a post like this concerning Chinese looking at your records and go beserk, and forget to realize the state of the world they live in! Who really cares! Everyone knows everything that they need or want to know about anyone! Moving on!

It's no different than cell phone makers like Apple to ask for permission for point of interest, favorite places, etc under the privacy controls. It's how they use it to make suggestions in maps, etc. With that being said, the fact these companies turn them on by default without announcing these changes when updated is the bothersome part for me. You have to rely on channels like this one, finding it for yourself or digging through their update notes which they rely on that 90% won't bother.

100% d'accord avec toi, =;-). Petite astuce pour déverouiller la limite d'altitude, faire la mise a jour du flysafe, l'interrompre pendant le download. Et après tu es à 5000 mètres d'altitude max. Marche trés bien sur mavic 3 Classic, sur le firmware 1.12 et RC2. AHAH, fly is not a crime. =;-)

Each and every one of you do you realize that your cell phones that you're using do the same thing. That newer TVs have cameras in them. How many cameras and microphones are monitoring you everyday at any time? Plus you can enable it if you wish just like Android does and Apple

Thanks for this video! As I don't use the phone at all for drone activities. The mp4 files are copied into the computer... The other day a 3(!) hour session took place using the Mavic 3 pro, the RC pro and 6 (!) batteries. After 4 or 5 flights the internal memory, storing the screen recordings, was full. What the hack... There's a 128 GB SD card selected for storage to use.... Opened the files manager, poked around in the internal memory. Lots of .log files showing up in Chinese, or something like that. Lots of files were erased. Now remains to see if flying is possible. But..... Lots of data is logged. For whom? I don't need them, as far as I know. Delivering all data to DJI? Certainly not.

Not paranoid, it'll be compulsory soon for sure, and I never do updates for anything unless its needed for something that doesn't work right. if it aint broke, DON'T UPDATE!

When the whole world is out to get you, being paranoid just makes good sense!! I see it’s an option, just like every software you download to your computer, as well as windows and Mac. If you are a provider looking to support your software, you need repetitive data to ensure you have the issue properly identified and your new firmware properly coded. If anyone wants to participate in this, they can opt in, again just like most commercially available software, or just don’t. It will just take DJI longer to update firmware, and that’s fine and a choice we can all make.

honestly it seems to be a possible way for them to give pilots a way to keep a record of their flight records to help "prove" where you have flown possibly? I say this because as most may know about the DJI ban within the US gov. agencies which is kind of a joke being the bridge incident videos and pictures you can see dji drones all over the place being used by the local and federal authorities there. But given how the US gov. has passed the RID ns quite sure the logging and recording of flights might be in best interest for pilots that are flying like they should be because we also know there are a lot of people out there that aren't using it just as much which if its spotted and somehow you get tied up in the mess you may end up having to prove where you flown your drone during that time. Just saying and of course maybe the analyzing of the flight records if you have a run away, sudden stop, etc flight issue they could look and see what the drone was doing to help figure out if it was a hardware, software, or other issue kinda like a "black box" as you will is my idea behind it to me. Thanks though because not sure I've gotten this update as of yet hadn't flown in about a month so thanks for the information about what's in the update.

Guys take care about APAS on this version. DJI AIR 3 Colision Detection now not working properly in speed higher than 10 KM/H Today I crashed my drone at 5 km/h and a big obstacle ahead. Everything was properly recorded.

I never sync my flight records, I only keep the most recent. Nobody has any business observing my flight history unless for a specific incident.

I don't see any problem with DJI looking through my records I my sh*t interests them bang on I've no issue im not doing anything top-secret, however google, Facebook, Visa, Mastercard and face recognition and many others are a little more concerning!

I do now in one case another youtuber received a drone replacement for free because they reviewed the flight log and determined the fly away was not caused by operator fault

It's just a way to make it easier for a non-computer literate person to send their log files to DJI. And it can be turned off. It's a VERY common practice in software dev and it's very much meant as a convenience.

*** DJI always KNOW your number of HOURS of FLIGHT *** If anyone has used the DJI Forum you will notice that your experience (number of hours of flight) is noted in the left hand side panel next to your comments. (For example, mine shows Flight distance : 96654 ft). If they access this (without asking), surely they have access to all your flight logs as well? Please comment.

Probably they were already accessing your logs. But because USA is backing of using DJI because of security concerns, they are trying now to say they are not using the data unless approved by user. To me, too liitle too late.

DJI could make this an incentive oriented LOG ANALYSIS PROGRAM. You agree and they reward you with accessories, a free drone, a new phone, and other benefits, heck a free T-Shirt. You strictly permit the LOGS to be reviewed. When an employer installs a GPS TRACKER in your work vehicle, they can because they own it and they pay your bills with a cheque. I own the drone, you pay me with incentives. Cheers !

Governments wanted RC flyers to record flight data so they can know if anyone is violating airspace. It's not in the interests of companies not to comply with reasonable requests by governments because they will be banned in that country. From what I have heard recently Autel brand allows you to turn that feature off.

Unfortunately trust is a big word when there are so many idiots out there that seem to fly drones in no fly zones. Most of the drone films on RU-vid show people flying in built up areas or cities which here in NL is illegal.

Targeting data. These drones can be used to gather targeting coordinates. If they can do it , they are doing it. These drones are used to fly and inspect critical infrastructure, they have on board gps and your recording video combined with your location. Let that sink in, for a long time I thought what can I hurt flying my drone , I guess it depends where you fly it maybe. Edit: you’re not being paranoid, it’s not always a negative thing anyway, nothing wrong with a healthy amount of paranoia.

DJI having the ability to analyze our flight logs isn't new. What's new is our ability to turn it OFF. I leave it on because if the drone malfunctions and I lose it I'd like the flight log to be a part of my conversation with customer service. It's not about spying on us.

I'm one of the devs that cracked the DJI Fly app back then to make a custom one and DJI has always been doing shenanigans to spy on us. The tragedy in this situation is that they are the leaders in smart drones while being the worst company on earth after EA.

Let me get this straight..... So, you're using every day A phone, maybe iPhone or android phones, Alexa devices or similar, smartwatch, webcams, laptops and you're bothered by using a drone once a week or month because "privacy"? If you don't agree about tracking and collecting data from a drone then stop using all that, because it's the same, someone is listening to you and collecting a looot of more important logs than your drone data, called your life and locations, browsing history and habits, even listening to your phone microphone. Don't get me wrong, I did degoogled my phone and is still not enough. And don't shoot the messenger.

So what makes you think turning that off DJI wouldn't track or monitor you? You're already being tracked and spied on by your country and the US from your phone. But you appreciate that.
