I love my Specta Air. I wished Amazon sold batteries. It may not work with the new Avata2 goggles and controller, but they work with the air 3. As far as the ban on DJI. Do people remember the import tariffs on Japanese cars and motorcycles. Japan snuck around by putting final assembly (not manufacturing) plants in the US. Hmmm.

Good luck to the Chinese government getting my heart rate details from the Maven app...if they asked me, I would happily tell them and anyone else who has such a sad life that they need to know such dross. It's currently 60bpm seated. It will go up as soon as I start on the whisky which will be any second now... Why such conspiracy theories get any traction at all is beyond me. @zx81uk

The issue with the 'heart rate monitor' story is this was most likely 'made up' by the Chinese government in order to distract from the potential real issue. The truth is none of us can be sure what 'back-doors' have been built into these electronic machines. Same as with your PC, tablet, router and phone - you have to imagine that all the information on them is now in the hands of the US and the Chinese. For your drone, they may now have your face and location of your home, your family pictures, and the places you choose to take your drone. Link that to your internet address, your job, and any social media you post, now you can see that big brother has you by the balls. Next imagine your drone can be made to crash or go to a location and film and crash, that's a powerful weapon. Most people don't realise the whole world is in a struggle of Democracy v Fascism. If you help Russia, China, Iran and possibly South Africa and possibly the un-elected European Commission - then you are helping Fascism to grow stronger, Remember that MG and Volvo are now owned by the Chinese. The only protection is to build your own electronics or pay someone who you can trust. One day we should not depend on any manufacturing in China. Part of learning to be a competent critical thinker is to be able to question everything, including the source of the stories you hear. Remember, we now have a prize example of how propaganda on social media made the majority of people believe the Luton airport multi-story car park fire was caused by an electric or hybrid Range Rover. We now know for 100% sure the car that started it was a diesel. However, I still meet people who say it was a hybrid! The problem is that once a rumour is started it's very hard for anyone to retract that message and some people either don’t care or don't even try. The message from me is 'challenge everything', even from sources you trust. If you cannot do this then you are part of the problem, the world is stuffed full of lemmings and sheep.

@Geeksvana
@Geeksvana Месяц назад

@ThatGoth
@ThatGoth Месяц назад
@@Geeksvana This is one of my specialities, hardcoded backdoors are very common these days, cisco hardware for example is well known for having a hardcoded backdoor for the user named "cisco" which puts all the devices are risk if a hacker figures out the one password they all use (and Cisco is a huge name), Intel chips have hardcoded backdoors. Android (like the controller) and iOS devices in the UK have to legally have a backdoor for the governments snoopers charter (which actually makes them easier to hack) but I don't think many companies are fully compliant with this yet (WhatsApp are compliant so would give out all those missing MP messages if requested by the government or a court order, you have to wonder why they were not requested), Hopefully the company use some sort of BaDSeED system in their software which would detect such backdoors.

@@formerlyfilmphotography6802 - A bunch of people have been complaining lately that third party batteries (which I would NEVER recommend) don't work anymore due to an update so you either fly without the latest firmware (which isn't safe) using third party batteries (which also are often not safe) or your batteries stop working. I also would NOT recommend using third party props. Also any of these things can easily take you over 250G.

Great info really like your content! Our Foundation is a non profit that donates drones and now in Florida we cant even donate a DJI drone it is not allowed. It remains to be seen if Anzu will be the solution as it is clearly the same drone. It is a sad state as lives are at risk! Literally millions of dollars of thrones been grounded Florida and are not able to be used. I wish Randal all the best on this venture as public safety needs these tools! For those who purchase drones through our foundation partners they will receive best possible pricing and the best part is up to 10% of the net sale goes back to support our mission to help underfunded public safety receive these life saving tools. This is sure to put a hurt on Skydio's business model and thats good news as well. Seems as if Skydio now will be forced to be more reasonable pricing as apposed to existing and from the feedback our foundation gets from public safety, they do not like Skydio as a company or brand, in part to them being the tip of the arrow on the Anti-DJI noise... Be interesting to see how this plays out... Again great content.

Licence hardware? Licenced from DJI through 27 shell companies? So it's a DJI with the same data security issues but you need an IQ of 500 to track where all the data really goes?
@Geeksvana
@Geeksvana Месяц назад
For accuracy, the licence is between DJI and Anzu Robotics, so no need to put it via any 'shell companies'. The data is not sent to or held by DJI at any point. So, although it will be interesting to see how it survives being picked apart by techs out in the wild, just making stereotypical 'social media' style comments is a little flat 🤔.
@WhiteDieselShed
@WhiteDieselShed Месяц назад
@@Geeksvana I have been on the internet a long time and extremely sceptical because I have seen it happen many times. Big uproar because a company is collecting data or doing something naughty and they whitewash it and say it was beta code they forgot to remove and then it sneaks back and becomes part of the package. Happens in all industries, check fake NCAP crash tests. Data is king why sell a product when the data they can collect is far more valuable?
@johnnycaps1
@johnnycaps1 Месяц назад
This is a brilliant "workaround" so that regulations that restrict DJI products from being purchased by governments, companies, organizations, consumers, etc. will have an alternative. At $7000 it's a bit pricey considering that comparable DJI products are AT LEAST half the price but Anzu products will fill a niche market in which to hopefully thrive. Whenever a regulation or law is passed many will suffer and get hurt, and yet every law creates an opportunity for someone, even if the overall impact on society is a big negative.

I need a solution for the $6K of DJI equipment I currently have. I can't just afford to toss it in the trash, especially after spending $600 to cover the FAA's remote ID issue. There is 0 risk of getting data back to the CCP, if it doesn't connect to the Internet through a phone or wifi connection. Running with tablets or the standard controller, they don't right now. If they kill the need for their "flysafe" system, which is a misnomer anyway, there would never be a need to connect to them.

The increase in price justification seems to centre around the additional work and services to bring the data security under US servers, etc. The incredible price of UAS designed for the blue market is often more than double these figures. I suppose for some who have no options but to find a 'non-Chinese' manufacturer, the price is the price. Is any of this justified without any hard evidence of an issue with the original product? No. It is the definition of a manufactured marketplace.

In the US congress/government , I'm sure that their objections to China's DJI would be a lot less if DJI were Russian! Never the less, it is not the work of the US congress that put the monetary restrictions and regulations on the hobby drones, but the FAA, that ran with this with the $150. 2 hour Part 107 test. In other words, if one flies a drone on their road trip or vacation and puts it on RU-vid and RU-vid monetizes it, one could be in trouble with the FAA! To me, the objective is obvious, to restrict hobby drones and not allow them to make any money unless they pay the FAA shake down and pass the test just to post their videos! At b$150. a test, I'm sure this is quite profitable for the FAA and is quite effective in curtailing droners from posting their videos without paying the FAA, or any income from drones at all, as if it is the mandate of the FAA to stop the posting of drone videos on the internet! What is it to the FAA if I post a video with my drone on RU-vid or not, or a wedding video with a hand held camera, from a car or whatever, as long as one is abiding by the rules set by congress?

Remember, we now have a prize example of how propaganda on social media made the majority of people believe the Luton airport multi-story car park fire was caused by an electric or hybrid Range Rover. We now know for 100% sure the car that started it was a diesel. However, I still meet people who say it was a hybrid! The problem is that once a rumour is started it's very hard for anyone to retract that message and some people either don’t care or don't even try. The message from me is 'challenge everything', even from sources you trust. If you cannot do this then you are part of the problem, the world is stuffed full of lemmings and sheep.

Such a surprise, the "land of the free" is at it again. The USA really needs to change their national anthem. It rings hollow and is outright embarrassing.

If DJI produced drones in the US under a different name, ANZU, doesn't the money still goes back to China? Perhaps less, but China would still get a portion of the proceeds! It will be some time, if ever for US drones to even bother with producing hobby drones! Why should they make a four hundred dollar drone when they can make much more expensive, for the government or corporations, thus much more profitable, while the FAA clears the skies of those pesky hobby drones
