DJI Wireless vs Hollyland Lark Max - Best Wireless Microphone 

I literally woke up last night from a dream that was “HOW DOES THE DJI MIC COMPARE TO THE HOLLYLAND?!” (Yes, I’m aware how nerdy that is.) Thank you for making exactly what I needed 😁

The DJI Mic has a low-cut filter that effectively reduces low-frequency noise like wind, enhancing the clarity of your recordings. A great feature for improving audio quality!

JUST ordered the DJI mic this afternoon, hopefully this video isn't gonna make me regret not getting the Hollyland one.

DJI hasn't failed me yet...got their drones, the mic system...now they just need to branch into other areas!

I just got the DJI and am very happy with them, especially the plug and play with iOS and Mac laptops. For some reason the mic world hasn’t caught up with AI noise canceling…The ENC on the Lark sounds WEIRD

First switch from Hollyland to DJI, the DJI sounded better to me, later I couldn't really hear a difference. (Listened on some random cheap in-ear headphones, not some high-level audiophile headphones). So I guess, sound quality wise, they are basically equal. The noise cancellation made the voice sound a bit weird even though it nicely reduced the street noise. I don't know how close you could put the mic to the mouth, so maybe moving it closer so that the voice is relatively louder than the street noise might be a better option.

I have both microphone systems and for some reason, when I record with the mics on my shirt, they sound distant/have a muffled, kind of underwater sound. Any thoughts on this?

Will this wirless mic mute and disable the speaker of smartphone or not ? If it disable or mute the speaker of the smartphone you can not make shorts videos and listen to your voice in snap or youTube or even you can not make live stream

I'm listening to this video on a $10 dollar headphones and the Hollyland sound way better without any post-processing.

Voice sounds kinda nasal with the DJI mic. Hollyland on the other side, has better bass response, making the voice more flattering. The battery life of both receiver and transmitter of Hollyland is longer.

I’ve got the DJI and I love it! I’ve just it last week with the receiver in my laptop and could do voice over wireless to première pro and I loved the sound. Also used it for interviews and stuff and it never failed me

In studio both mics sounds almost identical, but on the street Dji sounds better. Interesting. I have to buy it before next year, so I'll wait for black friday or different sale and buy Dji, because I just trust them more and I'm sure they have a good software.

I have the DJI Mics since they came out. Love the sound and workflow. One of my clients just purchased the Hollyland. I'm sure they are both great systems.

I mostly use the Rode Go II, but recently one of the transmitters is slightly off from the other…sound slightly different. I just can’t decide which one of these is best to replace the Rode system 🤷‍♀️

Sorry Mark, but you left out some key things. I say this as a DJi owner, which I have been using with satisfaction for more than a year, so I know what I'm talking about. However, they have some shortcomings and peculiarities that needed to be highlighted. First of all, when recording without wireless transmission, therefore with the internal recorder, the audio quality is considerably higher, since the acquisition standard changes, but this standard does not correspond to the recording transmitted via wireless which will remain and is in fact much inferior; to say, what? ...to say that: where you want the advantage of synchronization directly in the camera, you will not have the advantage of superior audio quality of internal microphone recording. Here we are? If these things are not mentioned, can you explain to me how a hypothetical buyer can be helped in an aware manner regarding his possible purchase? Not only that, it doesn't end here: - when you use the DJi, while you transmit the wireless signal into the camera and, at the same time, record the backup copy into the microphone itself, it happens that the double process that the device has to undergo, more often than not it will not allow the wireless signal to be reliable and will be disturbed, sometimes even "drops". Do we want to tell you these little things or not? This does not mean that the DJi are not valid wireless microphones, on the contrary, they are very good (so much so that I couldn't do without them, they are magnificent), but they have objective defects and possess peculiarities that could be shortcomings, peculiarities that a reviewer must absolutely report. Regardless, for those interested in my experience, I confirm that I would not purchase the Hollyland; I'm sorry, but the advantages they have over the DJi, however, overall do not make them superior. Given the fact that right now there is an offer by Hollyland Lark Max to get the system + 2 lav mics for the same price as the DJI system without any lav mics, but DJI having way better adapters for phone, which one would you pick? Price for any of these: $249.

How well or not so well do either of these mics work with a GoPro Hero 12 Black?? Most curious about how well they connect with Bluetooth or can they be hardwired via USB-C?

The Hollyland to me sounds fuller and richer than the DJI. The Hollyland also picks up a more consistent level as opposed to the DJI which to me has a harsher sound and somehow seems to choke down audio signals lower than a certain dB level (or is it just me?). The DJI also has more piercing transients while the Hollyland has a warmer sound with smoother transients. This is my opinion on just the sound. All other features are secondary to the sound quality.

Is this the same DJI mic that comes with the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 creator combo?

Can you record stereo with one transmitter by connecting a stereo mic to the output connector of the transmitter ? I think the rode and dji can transmit only mono from the transmitter despite accepting a stereo signal. My goal is to transform my Azden smx-30 mino/ stereo to a wireless mic via a receiver but for now i didn’t found any that can do that.

The DJI has very poor line of sight range, I put it on a cyclist and lost signal within about 50 meters. Really disappointing.

Wireless would be better than the method I’m trying. Wires snag out in the wild. People don’t take kindly to it

I think the test in studio is not so relevant, in fact any microphone would perform well in a controlled environment. From the short street test, when comparing both brands without noise canceling, I had the impression that the DJI was able to better discern the voice from the background noises. As for the sound of the voice in studio, provided my former objection, I found the Hollyland sound a bit more natural. Anyway, the short test with lavalier mic (wich is a very important setting for me) was surprisingly disappointing from both brands (DJI was little worse) ! They both seem to perform way better with the internal mic. In any case, another bad issue with the DJI seems to be the fact they are not compatible with many lavalier mics available in this price segment. And, of course, DJI is not including any lavalier mic in the kit, nor seem to offer any that you can but separately. Another big missing of this test is about radio signal tested in real world. A crucial aspect. Anyway, I thank you for the video and appreciate the speaking, very clear and intelligibile.

You could have kept the sync about switching and putting the branding on top....like the brand name and switching to the mic on that side. Rn dji is on your right and when you switch it on it says on your top left....

11:38 what do you mean you want Hollyland to let you disable the noise cancelling ? you have the LED indicator, you have the button on the mic to turn it off and on the receiver itself you can turn it on and off too... if you're not paying attention that's user error.

I got the Godox Movelink M2 last year I just started using it and did not like it because of the background noise it recorded additionally to my voice I was looking to replace them since the hollyland lark max has noise cancelling which to me was the only reason I was convinced. I connected my Godox Movelink M2 to my Rodecaster pro 2 via Rode VXLR+ 3.5mm to XLR Adapter with Power Convertor. Used the RCPTO2 noise gate settings and problem solved indoors still need the noise cancelling for outdoors prob get that solo holly land
