@mcsg27 thanks for the response. it was that i had the loop optimize off. once i turned it on it worked fine. hours of frustration because of one setting. now to get to work. thanks again.
@Daluxer should say the DJ Endo method, as I'm pretty sure he taught them. Endo has the vid on here. You lock it up using midi and the metronomes, although they both use two computers.
Would the external sound card take care of issue no.2 and no.3? Is it better through a midi cable or not? Not sure about the 1st one. Any suggestions???
have you also tried making the patterns longer (say 4 or 8 bars?)...if I remember correctly, it sometimes acts wonky if you use patterns as short as 1 or 2 bars. But ultimately, loop optimize should make it work
Actually I figured it last night... I had the midi fighter Tsi made for maschine, and that was freezing my maschine always. So I just turned it off, and it's done... Btw if I wanna get the bpm midi signal from my mixer I just switch to resiving in traktor and change it in ableton as well? Since traktors midi signal is always jumping just a bit up and down... Thx for ur answer;) P&L
sorry new to mixing do you eq the drums the way you have them in the video or just use the limiter? because when I drag and drop to remix decks the sound quality isn't good
Hello and thanks for sharing . I have had pc before I faced any issue with CPU overload and crashing while I was using traktor and maschine in sync mode . do I need to buy Mac corei7 or Mac corei5 can handle it . just wonder what system do u use while u r playing live with both maschine and traktor . thanks
hey Matt. have a question: so i have maschine and got a bit problem with it... u might know the answer. so i'm using traktor rooted into ableton and the maschine vst opened that i can drop loops from the masch software... but when i'm djing the maschine controller freezes pretty often... first just the LEDs /out signal/ freeze and few minutes later the hole controller is dead:S if i un- and replug everything goes back to normal... any idea why it happens? thx P&L
In theory, I could do the same with the Numark 4Trak, right??? I am in the Market for a Traktor controller and I jam beats all with Maschine, but for what I can see, the 4Trak is a more rugged and feature rich controller for Traktor, no???
Thx for the respond! Up and up? Not sure if I understand... Even when I run traktor only the controller does the same...:( and my laptop is a new MacBook pro... So I can only think of a wrong maschine or some mapping problem... I'll try it with a different mapping then... That's be bad though coz' I spent quite few hours with the mapping;) Peace
@mcsg27 Thanks for your reply, However my goal was to use the maschine as a live input on traktor, So routed to deck D and I've got an audio 2 dj by NI, So now the Maschine is going through that so it takes off the pressure of the laptop. By doing so I managed to solve issue no. 2 and 3. Issue no. 1 still exist but that's NI's job to fix it. It is quite annoying though. I wouldn't be confident using it in a live situtation as it now. What do U think about the new update of TP2 by the way?
this setup is more for studio preparation, not live performance. Both programs are running off the same interface and therefore there is no way to cue/monitor the Maschine "track". Everything is heard through the headphones in this instance.
I've run into some trouble here and I wonder if you could help? I've synced up my Maschine with the Kontrol S4 using the latest TP2 as they explain it here: traktorbible. except I don't have an external sound card or a midi cable atm. Issue no1: the internal clock of traktor is drifting off sync no2: lower volume of Maschine no3: crackles and CPU spikes when loading up a new kit or project etc.
How do you sync both Maschine and Traktor live smoothly....I see how you do it but is there a smoother technique than just keep hittting the one of Traktor to the metronome of Maschine
Hey im havinga problem with the drag, and drop into traktor..it seems the loops arent the same size and an I get huge spaces of silence before and sometimes after the the sample in the sample slot other that that everything works perfectly
I have Maschine 2.2.3 and my layout is a little different than yours so it doesn't let me drag and drop my patterns into Traktor pro 2. How do I change to that layout?
and being in the right key? I suppose you are aware of the track playing and its key..and as such playing the relevant complimentary key (or same key) on your maschine controller (I guess u r using the pads)..? Or are you simply using keylock? which is a nice feature in sample decks (traktor 2.6.6 Im on now). BTW I think 2.6.6 allows for more integration between Maschine and Traktor. Setting this up today...
Okay, it worked once for me, but I can't get it to work again.....but I just discovered today that I CAN pull loops FROM Traktor Pro TO Maschine. Can ya' help me out a lil bit??? Peace!
I have been trying this for several hours now. When maschine is playing the loop everything is in sync, as soon as I render the file and put in in my sample deck, it no longer is synced. Traktor either slows or speeds up the loop. Any idea what is happening?
When loading samples from machine into tractor they come out not sync pitch is way off and they dont fill up the remix deck slots fully can you help thanx
Ok so i did this but when i drop the beats into the sample deck they are too short and only fill half the sample deck. when i make them longer it just compresses them into half of the sample deck...please help
Please help. I am on a PC operating system. I have Traktor Pro 2, Maschine and Numark 4 Trak. I am using the focusrite saffire 18i6 interface and I have a 4 channel alesis interface as well. How do I do this with what I have or do I need something else. Please help!
IDK why you would wanna be messing with a click track this is a pain in the butt especially if you wanna dj b2b with someone. The best thing to do is to Send MIDI cock on Traktor, create a generic software controller with Traktor virtual output in the controller manager page, and then set Traktor to 'Master'. Im Maschine you select in the menu 'Audio Midi' settings and enable 'Traktor Virtual Output' then select "File" and select 'Sync to External MIDI clock.' When tracktor plays it will automatically sync to Machine, this is especially useful as well if you want to change BPM on the track while a patter is still playing..
I honestly gotta say the bridge is still better sense the bridge is actually inside the program no needing for hearing any metronome But the big deal breaker for me would be using a controller instead of having to use a dvs
@mcsg27 ah well ok then.. cause psyconall said it was for Live use so you create your loops using your headphones in a club.. and to me that's not really a good idea, better prepare it, :p
everything cool about that, besides the fact that tractor 2.5 suddenly has a pretty weird and unnecessary sophisticated layout of the new remix decks, which are pretty shitty to control now...
why not just create your loops Before you go and play at a club ? get them in your sample library within traktor and you're good to go.. so you don't have to make them live isn't that better ? so you can focus on other stuff ? looks like a bit of a hassle, if you have a 13" or 15" laptop you have to switch between programs etc.. extra processing power required etc ....
Why dont sync the maschine with traktor it would be better sounding and you dont need to think about metronome etc. And you dont end with sounds not exactly synced like in this tutorial...
