Glad someone admitted that many overlooked Norrie, putting Draper automatically in a 3rd round and going to the 4th beating Zverev;) So very sad for Hurcaz, so unfortunate, hope it's nothing serious and he will be back on court soon. Andy's doubles and tribute were so touching and so sad to watch..it was great to see all the British players and Djokovic and Rune, and Martina with McEnroe
14:30 Totally agree with JG, tennis in the UK is a very privileged sport with economic barriers to entry; Growing up, if your parents aren’t well off, then you have little to no chance of making it as a professional… Compare that to Eastern Europe where it’s deemed as much more of a working-class sport. One region has a lack of top quality players, and the other has them in abundance. It just doesn’t make sense to me to cut off a large section of the player pool just to maintain the sports upper-class perception; Something seriously needs to change within British tennis if we want to be more successful.
The jury is still out on Draper. Everyone is hyping him up to be this great player but he really hasn’t done anything overly impressive? Yes he beat Alcaraz at Queens, he played well. British media and pundits place way too much pressure on their players. You don’t really see this at the FO or USO, sometimes you see it at the AO but the way they hype British players at Wimbledon is on another level. It can’t be easy for the players to try and live up to those expectations. Less hype, more actual good performances and results.
Ur 1000 right tommy paul won that tourny and it was a good thing for him but nobody was like oh hes the best but draper beat carlos and they basically dubbed him world #1 and a threat to novak in q4 no way draper is not as good .... there doing it now with radacunu as well grainted she has looked stellar but they put way to much on them
What is with JG´s hate towards Comesana? lol "No way he will win his second round" he said and now he still doesnt show him some respect....Dont get it.... Why cant we just enjoy someone so young and new on the tour getting to his third round in Wimbledon?
After the way Arthur was playing you can’t say that there was NO way he would’ve beat Hurkacz but I do agree that Hurkacz would’ve won. I would love to see these two play on grass in the future.
Gotta disagree about Hurkacz/Fils definitely going HH way. I think Fils is soaring again in his experience finally after a lackluster year as a teen and HH was a bit off. HH a very nice person and I wish him the best and for him to win Wimby one day.
ok this is how you pronounce Fils. Fi as in fee and the s as in hiss so Feess. So I offer this to you, if you care to take it. Same with Monfils. Fils in French means son, which you probably already know.
JG big Nole hater, 😂😂😂😂 look his body language even if he tries to say something positive about him...Well JG your British anonymous DID NOT BEAT NOVAK DJOKOVIC YET.😂😂😂
Let’s not overreact over Fearnley please… people do this all the time. They did it when Prizmic took a set of Djokovic at the AO. This happens all the time when young players face big opponents in the early rounds of slams. They come out with nothing to lose and play great tennis and people overhype them. Yes he played well, but needs to prove that he can back it up week after week on the tour without a massive British crowd supporting them. Different story.
Free road to the final is right! He has the easiest draw I have ever seen! Doesn’t matter though cause he’ll lose in the finals anyway. An elite player will attack him and make him move.
