I’ve heard multiple stories where our hitters were so desperate for help they looked outside of Haines and the organization and it’s actually made a difference!! I don’t know what else to say it really speaks for itself!

Trades (plural) MUST happen now! Get two reliable bats, and if possible a middle relief pitcher.

Nobody remembers who got traded for Bill Madlock all folks remember is "we are family" winning the World Series. My point is make an impact trade or two and win it all no one will care or remember who got traded just who was on the World Series team.

Bubba should be almost unobtainable. There is no bat out there that has his upside

Unless there is a 40 homer 300 plus hitter heading to Pittsburgh for Chandler and couple other prospects I would hang on to him.

Hayes should be tradable. Triolo is almost as good defensively, and is more reliable day to day. There's no substantial drop off with Triolo playing third. Being less brittle, he would actually be an upgrade.

No on trading Chandler. Yes on anybody else up to and including Termarr (and that would hurt). OK with a rental, but then go out in the off season and sign a real free agent or two.

Bring in Matt Canada as a hitting coach

The Pirates need an impact bat ASAP in the smartest way it can be achieved. I don't know whether trading Chandler for that bat is the answer. Noelvi Marte just returned to the Reds last night after an 80-game suspension, and he's already quickly jumpstarting the Reds offense. The Reds could start turning their season around rather quickly, and the Pirates don't want to be suddenly left behind. Cherington needs to make an intelligent decision very soon to elevate the Pirates offense as a strategic response. If the Reds quickly start moving up in the division standings, it's likely going to be an immediate problem. The Reds are an extremely confident and pesky team, and they're always looking for ways to obtain a mental edge. They also have an ability to go on a winning streak. Of all of the teams in the NL Central, don't give the Reds the edge through intentional and unnecessary passivity and inaction. Otherwise, the Reds will be in a much stronger position regarding a possible Wild Card spot this season. Mr. Cherington: Please do something significant and inspirational to assist your 2024 Pirates. This Pirates team has a legitimate Wild Card opportunity this year, and it really needs your help.

The problem is can we trust Cherington to actually make a good trade? I have serious doubts

Chandler is a prospect I would not want to trade. He has ace-like stuff, solid command, and his confidence in each of his secondary pitches seems to improve with every start. The Pirates desperately need bats, but bubba is a guy I’d like them to hold on to.

Start Luis Ortiz and get two bats. Just a little more balance DK. It's worth a try for sure and it could be what is needed. A great pitcher lineup most certainly wins game's. We used to say, put some heat on it. Thank you DK, Have a safe trip

No. Build a pitching staff of aces while the aces can be kept together (we all know eventually other teams may sign them away).

Trades are one thing...for established stars. But flipping prospects for pennies on the dollar for guys who may not even be upgrades is Archer 2.0.

Imagine a starting staff of Skenes, Jones, Keller, Chandler and Ashcraft. We need a couple of bats and have the prospects to get them outside of Chandler and Ashcraft. A new hitting coach might be the best move but this GM won't do that and look at his resume on the trades he has made so far. Bell, Marte, Taillon, Frazier, Stallings, Musgrove, Anderson, Quintana, Vogelbach, Holmes, and Castro have been traded and what do we have in return = Bednar, Suwinski, Nicholas, Falter and Holderman that are on the major league roster. He'd have to grade out as a C- or D for all these moves he's made.

It looks like to me DK. Baltimore would be the best place to look for hitting prospects who are close to the majors . I would do a Mayo / Chandler swap in a heart beat . Slide him into first base and that solves the 1st base issue for a decade. I would do that trade in a heart beat.

I will never take this team seriously until Andy Haines is fired it’s the biggest travesty in sports the man SOMEHOW still has a job! Any guy we bring in is gonna be ruined by him anyways! So not worth the trade!!!

Do what needs to be done immediately to compete now. Hoarding prospects does no good. The Pirates need winning to be on their bucket list. It is time to live and compete today, tomorrow isn't promised. Make these moves and you will see more energy be infused into this team. Skenes was the last energy surge that brought the team up. More good examples of performance need to be in the clubhouse. Get a few serious ball players who lead. Let's go Bucs!

Yes. As a Red Sox fan, Pirates should do Chandler for Roman Anthony. Sox need pitching. Pirates need bats.

This time next year Bubba Chandler will be the number 4 starter. Skenes, Jones, Keller, Chandler will be next to unstoppable. A competent GM would have them be the Atlanta Braves by now. You have Harrington, Solometo, Ashcraft, Barco use them instead.

We have to wait to trade him until after Skenes and Jones have their Bucco Prerequisite Tommy John surgery. 😂

Teams place their top guys off limits all the time. Prospect for prospect trades rarely happen.

Yeah I’m gonna disagree with you on this DK. I genuinely think he’s our best prospect. Some may argue Termarr but I think it’s Bubba. Let’s say we have to make the choice of paying Skenes or Jones at some point, I think Bubba ends up filling the need of being that 3rd man. Behind Keller and whoever #2 is. Bubba is far too valuable

After tonight’s game really proves my point even more. They can’t hit. Ik you can’t blame the hitting coach 100% but it’s the most obvious deserved firing in sports rn! #FireHaines I’m not against a trade in principle I think we should 100% I’m just so afraid Haines is gonna absolutely RUIN any kid we get in a trade back anyways!
