Kanye made a very profound statement when he said slavery was a choice. As an African American male I believe that Kanye's statement is in fact true. Anytime a people allows an oppressor to abuse them when they have the numbers to overcome that oppressor it is a choice. It's not a choice of "wanting" to be enslaved but it is a choice of "not wanting" to rebell (or revolt) against that form of Oppression.
