I mean yeah, we can tell that Shelly and Donny are the Timmy and Tommy of Sheldon, while Sheldon could be the Tom Nook of Shelly and Donny! Heck, even Ammo Knight could be Sheldon's Nook's Cranny and/or Nook Inc.!
@@NoahTurbo_ wait a minute… -is present in all games -has a monopoly on one type of product/service -everyone hates them -has two children with similar names to themselves who may or may not actually be their children
I like how they put the negative parts of order in the dlc. If chaos lost, the city of order would be a teamwork city. People helping people and taking care of eachother and everything. Seems like a happy game. The bad side is, “having to be perfect”, “you cant mess up”. And “side chaos” would be dark, probably flames everywhere like emotional issues/ anger. But splatoon 3 makes chaos as being able to be yourself, have fun, and do whatever. Idk I kinda like that-
I know everyone thinks Shelly and Donny are Sheldon’s kids but when I saw them for the first time I thought they were his younger cousins or something similar (still family members and maybe even his successors but kids were not my first choice). They also remind me a lot of Timmy and Tommy from Animal Crossing, who were Tom Nook’s nephews (at least I think they are) which is probably why my brain defaulted to ‘not kids’. To be fair, if these are in fact Sheldon’s kids, I don’t know why but it makes me feel really old - these characters are ageing and building lives of their own - man why does the DLC give me a general theme of existential dread? DLC gang
Since I never played Splatoon 1, exploring Inkopolis Plaza is going to be an amazing experience to me! Also, I really like Side Order's theme has an eerie, mysterious, yet intriguing vibe to it, really excited to get the DLC and play this new story mode! #DLCgang (PS: Today's my birthday! Unfortunately, I won't be able to celebrate it today, because of the weather outside, so my dad told me that we'll celebrate it tomorrow instead... But fortunately, since it's a chocolate-theme splatfest, I told my dad to buy me a chocolate birthday cake and chocolate ice cream!)
I imagine the bleached coral is similar to fuzzy ozz in which when you destroy the main part of it the rest vanishes but instead you shoot, the coral and. And it gangs back color and a certain area around it. Also gangs back color.
“Order” kinda implies control of some kind but what if it’s a story of self control rather than dictatorship control as the octoling gets along with other species like Marina after hearing the squid sisters and splits off from octavio’s army
So I commented this on ProChara's post on Twitter, but if you look at the DLC stickers they have the same quality as some of the Big Run posters from one of the images on the official Twitter, they are lightly transparent and you can see what's beneath/behind them. The same is said here as you can see that all the subsequent stickers all have the same details, no text but they have the same details like they are going to be the respective name tags for things to come. I also just came here from Nin10dolands video on the DLC and he points out this "fish"-like shape which after doing the bare minimum amount of digging, looks weirdly close to how an iguana's skeleton looks. Some info may have also been dropped after this video was uploaded, like that Shelly & Donny aren't related to Sheldon and aren't even the same species. I also noticed the tips of their tails are different, and they are NOT horseshoe larvae because horseshoe crab larvae barely, if not don't, even have tails. It's even explains Annie's new look. Also it's "Fred Crumps", like "bread crumps", and he appears to be a fried fish, complete with a lemon wedge. Something that bugs me though is that Crusty Sean's tempura "fried bits" are just a unique vest jacket, which I hope we get in the future, but Fred Crump's fried pieces are all over so what's the deal there? Is it an all over jumper complete with face covering? Is that lemon slice he is holding just a plush? Also just an interesting bit I noticed to tie in with the "Order" motif is that all the screens on the tower are all facing forward, and not where they usually face. Also, DLC Gang. Update: I forgot to mention, they showed everything in Inkopolis Plaza that the Splatlands have, even Grizz co., map survey, and Tableturf, everything except the general store/locker decor store. So where is it, who's running it, where could it be located?
Great info! I'm going to check out those dlc stickers now and yeah that fried fish could be a salmon??? Because they like preparing themselves to be eaten idk my only guess
@@thelostmessenger after checking Inkipedia you're right, Salmonids do do that as part of their culture. They do not fear death or being eaten because they accept that they are part of a natural cycle and death is a natural part of it. It's partly why they use cooking utensils and such when attacking, and why it's theorized that they made the food sculptures that are around Salmon Run stages, which probably explains the lemon wedge. Nice catch with that. Plus salmon is edible and like other fried fish is normally served with a lemon slice. I'm not 100% sure about Fred Crumbs's anatomy, since they're tail is on their head and Salmonids usually crawl about using a part of their body close to their tail, and Fred Crumbs supposedly has feet and legs, but I guess that's a mystery for another day and time. Their face weirdly looks familiar to me though.
If the Octoling seen in 'Side Order' is indeed Agent 8, as many have suspected, then my theory is that it could be about her/him trying to recover their lost memories. Splatoon 2's Octo Expanssion never did give any closure to the whole amnesia subplot, so hopefully Side Order will finally do just that.
1:49 : If you looked closely at the background, you can see the picture of Sheldon with a new character. I was wondering if they are kids or grandkids of Sheldon. If he has kids... that blows my mind.
I have a CRAZY theory. The protagonists can be marine and agent 8 at the same time. I have been analyzing the photos of the trailer and I could see by the eyelashes that they are Marina and (probably) agent 8. You can see that Perla and Marina and the hair of marina with the white suit and Agent 8 have color, so white can be something like a dream, nightmare, trauma... But the only real thing is what has color (I posted this comentary earlier in prochara video)
my theory about side order is that a clone or hologram of marina or even marina herself is going to be the antagonist… at the end of the trailer you can hear her voice; the only other time there was a voice at the end of a trailer it was mr grizz, the antagonist.
0:54 not only is this an interesting opposite to the first wave of the dlc. The thing that got me most is that Inkopolis Square isn't that far away from Inkopolis Plaza. You can see the Deca Tower of Splatoon 1 from the Square in Splatoon 2 (I know that's old news by now). So how only this part changed to look so dead and like Order took over, and how a few streets away Inkopolis Plaza looks bright and lively as always, sure is a weird thing to witness. It makes me wonder if Order only took over this very place and kept it local on Inkopolis Square only, or if they're gonna do more with that once the story progresses
What about the Cuddlefish? One of the images you pause on shows what looks to be Cuddlings, with six tendrils in the hair and two arms and legs. Ten like a Cuddlefish. This combined with all the other evidence we’ve seen in the game so far has really sold me on the idea of Cuddlefish coming to Splat
I think the reason everything is white is because of order. The original square was seen as too colorful and chaotic so they made it all the same color. The most basic color. (Also the lobby was replaced by the entrance to the White House?)
There's one image in Side Order trailer that flashes by fast that no one seems to talk about yet. It's a pretty revealing one so if you don't want to get spoiled by my possible theory on describing this image. Don't read further than this part. Okay so the image I saw is in a very dark looking room. It's the darkest picture of them all. In this room you can see what looks like a machine with tentacles. We've seen bosses like those before. But this one is very different and it looked familiar to me in a different way. In the middle of the machine you can see a small square shaped object. It looks very similar to the old phone disguise Commander Tartar was using when Agent 8 was busy doing challenges in Octo Expansion. And if you look very closely you can even make out what seems like those phone bell eyes Commander Tartar had as old phone disguise. This image reminded me of an older concept art that has been shown where they wanted to make Commander Tartar look very dark and creepy in a huge and weird machine way. So maybe, this concept art is gonna be partially used in Side Order for Commander Tartar. And I know most people say he's dead, others think not. And seeing this fast flashing by image of an old phone in a dark room attached to machinery with tentacles gives me confirmation he didn't die. That someone or something helped him gain powers, or this is a copy of him that activates once the actual Tartar got destroyed
I've heard about this dlc but I didn't think you were gonna bring up the news of splatoon 2 in it when it already had octo expansion added in. i wonder what's there to come. thank you.
I didn't make the connection until tonight, so there's a chance this may be missed: We were given two titles at the beginning of Chill Season's catalog: "Monochrome" and "Recollection." Looks a lot like the atmosphere Side Order is giving off. A hint? Maybe.
7:30 the bit he walks past here has to be accessible in another dlc which must prove there is more than 2 dlcs cos both of the ones shown are accessible from the train station (I think)
In the eshop, it says side order releases 12/31/2024. I don’t know if it’s a place holder, side orders actual release date or the when the expansion pass ends.
Wave 3 and 4 should be about salmonid invasion. Like going to salmonid Island and finding out tar tar is there sanitizing salmonid and the big runs is just them getting pushed out of their habitats on land and in the ocean.
Guys I have a theory Pearl wakes you up And then leaves you in the DLC, and why do I say this is because in the corner of this picture you can easily se the shoal Logo, btw no one has said or talked about or seen the shoal logo there. 4:48
I disagree about the 4 waves of content. I'm pretty sure they would have specified that it contained 4 and not just 2 in the trailer if that was the case. Also, Octo Expansion was announced around the same time frame as Side Order, which was the February of the next year post launch. So I'm not surprised this got announced at the time it did.
I hope that wave 3 or wave 4 WILL have rabbits/mammlians to be playable. i keep seeing the octarian army is suffering more and more in both sanitized and hairy with no explanation of HOW they ended up.
I have a theory, and it's a stretch, so hear me out: What if the side order expansion is taking place in a replica of Inkopolis Square... in Antarctica? Think about the image in a Nuclear Spike field. Spike fields, to quote Wikipedia, " are communication attempts intended to deter human intrusion at nuclear waste repositories in the far future, within or above the order of magnitude of 10,000 years." The reason the humans wiped out were because nuclear launches were sent to Antarctica, so assuming that we don't move across continents in the DLC, the location checks out. Also, the story of Splatoon takes 12,000 years after the events of that bombing, so the timing checks out. And what about all of the snow and coral? It would make sense to be snowy if they were in Antarctica. (Also, in case you were wondering that it takes place in the real Inkopolis Square, we are going to Inkopolis Plaza in wave 1 at the same time, and Plaza and Square are basically neighboring locations, so that wouldn't make much sense)
Side Order is really mysterious, but there's no doubt that Marina and Team Order from Splatoon 2's final Splatfest have something to do with it. I think we, playing as the Octoling seen in the trailer, will have to find some way to remedy the situation in Splatoon 2's Inkopolis Square and bring it back to it's former glory, I think it might be similar to the Alterna story mode. Of course, it could be something completely different, there's no real way to tell right now, but im super excited either way!
If you take a close look in the side order trailer you can see something that looks like snow falling. I wonder do this is related to the bleached coral.
