The new luxe speaker is the SAME EXACT SPEAKER that is inside an iphone 6s. So if yours breaks, you can order a new one for like $2 instead of what ever DLX charges.

Smart Parts = DLX = GOG = "SP" ("shocker paintball" now that the old SP is defunct). DLX was briefly a totally separate company during the 1.5 days, but as of the 2.0 they're all one in the same. Hell the Shocker RSX/XLS and Luxes are made in the same taiwanese factory.

I think because of how well the dsr shoots, people dismiss the m3 for not being as smooth of a shot and the dsr having everything you need to play competitively already. M3 more than likely feels better in most people's hands than the dsr.

I love how comfortable it fits in my hands but im just not a fan of how it's designed more towards a lower grip and shooting with 1 finger it's a bit weird to roll the trigger but the new triggers made it a little bit better overall I enjoy my luxe x

Agree with almost everything you said in this video. I’ve never had luxe issues but I live in a hotter environment so no cold weather. I also like the ergos on it so I get it why people don’t though. I think it’s a great marker overall as well. Good review man!

My Luxe 2.0 goes down every game when it's getting 10 °C or lower. The bolt moves slower and slower and then the balls only fly 3 meters (*plub* *plub* *plub*) so I want to buy a CS2 now I guess. The other option is maybe that I buy that Luxe X Bolt and put it in my 2.0 Luxe? Somebody can give me tipps? Thx

Try a thinner grease when it's cold maybe.

Update: Solenoid-voltage has to be set to maximum and thinner grease yes (pe grease). My PE Geo 3.5 also has issues when it's cold sometimes, but the gun probably has a weak solenoid. Same solutions: Fresh Battery, high voltage for the solenoid, and the 3.5 Geo has a extra adjusting "thing" near the trigger, where the airflow / pressure can be set to max - the air flow wich pushes the bolt forward before the shot. That I also have to set to max.

The Luxe 2.0 I bought from Sam Monville played the Ninja Turtles theme song when it powered on. I miss that on every other gun I use now... TURTLE POWER!

Agreed with almost everything you said. From what I’ve seen the Luxe is is just as reliable as the Cs2 with the new bolt system. Older luxe’s I’m taking PE. I think now with the X, there are very minute differences in high end markers when it comes to performance and reliability. Truly it just comes down to personal preference, as you mentioned, and how you maintain your marker.The reliability of your marker will 99% of the time come down to how you maintain it and not the manufacturer. Especially when paying $1500 and it today’s age. Take care of your gun and it will take care of you. Nice video and keep it up!

The voice thing is good for sunny days when you have thermals on and you can't see your screen too well. You're also severely overlubing that bolt and if you're having reliability issues, that's probably why!

I shot a Luxe 1,0 in tournament play when they first came out. They were great then aside from FSDO . Never had a reliability issue with one. Fast forward to this marker. I think luxe is the baddest marker around in my humble opinion. It just shoots so smooth and clean !

Maybe my luxe is special but I've never had an issue with my Luxe 2.0's reliability. It gets cleaned and greased.... Occasionally. It's played in 20 degree weather all the way up to 100 degrees. I'd love to get a new luxe but I just like the way mine looks a little too much.

I know I am like 2 yrs late but I have a luxe X and when I turn on the gun you can just wait for it to say “welcome” then you can just shoot the gun and the speaker will just turn off.

People don't want reliability, they want less maintenance. The luxe has been reliable since the 2.0, but they still require regular maintenance and proper tuning. The CS2 is louder/not as smooth because its tuned to shoot the same in all weather. The Luxe is tuned to shoot as smoothly as possible which means you'll have to retune them in cold weather.

The x does not handle the cold at all, I live in the Midwest, and the gun shot butter in the summer but come fall and 50’s the gun was terrible, ended up trading it and going back to pe

I love my luxe x, but I can agree that the front grip is super small and hard to get a good grip on it and the asa shouldn't be a lever, it's kind if annoying. And there is no battery charging indicator which is a huge miss. You have to unplug it and turn it on to see if its charged all the way or not.

Just to be clear - MacDev and WDP actually started the whole "stretched out" ergonomic platforms. Take a look at the '06 Cyborg and '05 Speed. DLX wasn't even a thought at that point.

Pretty sure Infamous makes one, too, although I've heard their quality is a little spotty (going off the Emek triggers). Scythe triggers make a big difference, I put one on my Gtek 170R and it's night and day better. Much more comfortable and easier to hold lanes.

GoG used to be Smart Prats. In 2010 they did some restructuring and changed the name to GoG. Yeah same thing.

I would like to see a serious unbiased survey of the average price of paintball guns used to win actual championships. I wanna see if a $1500+ pb gun is absolutely necessary to win tournaments.

I would bet that most teams or players that win tournaments are using $1500 guns, but that because they are sponsored or they choose to buy a high-end gun. It's for sure not necessary, they are plenty of guns that are $400 that are nearly just a good.

Bro what about the accuracy and shot consistency? I will watch the cs2 video now but if your missing that info it's pretty important imo. Especially when talking about the luxe 1.0 how it use to have ball drop issues on the first shot and how they improved on that. Everything else though your videos are solid. I love how you have such particular complaints on things that make it easier to assimilate and let people figure out if for them it's an issue or not is pretty cool. For ex: I love the air shot feel and sound of the luxe 1.0, so although I dont feel like you, I completely can see what you're talking about and comparing. Nice vid man!

The Luxe Ice used an Electroless Nickel coating ( NiB X) for it's bolt and can, the Luxe X changed the bolt system from a balanced spool valve to an unbalanced sailed spool valve. It's no longer an iteration of the Shocker line rather it's the end goal evolution of markers like the DYE matrix and the Smart Parts Ion. Thus why the shot feel is different: You are getting a little more vibration/ feedback per shot due to the fact it is an imbalanced spool bolt, It's running at lower pressures due to the bolt being lower mass than in Shocker XLS/CVO. It's just another way to do things, neither is "better" objectively just different. The Luxe Ice dropped operating pressures due to higher lubricity/ lower friction coefficient of moving parts in a balanced valve system, the Luxe X achieves this by reducing moving mass and using an imbalanced valve.

@@jvkos1239 and the Gamma Core is a copy of an imbalanced spool valve. There's very little "Original" in paintball as it's more *Evolutionary* as opposed to Revolutionary. We're working off concepts & principles mainly focused around flow rate and metering a flow of gas as consistently as possible in a relatively small area. Not exactly a lot of room for expansion to reduce operating pressures, so the big challenge is flow rate Vs. mass & friction coefficient.

Proof that it's not as reliable? I have owned a CS2 and sold it to buy my second Luxe X, 70k+ shots between the two, multiple NXL events and rainy practices. Just clean and lube it and it rocks. Only had to replace one bumper oring on the bolt because I was to rough with it while cleaning.

I am Anti planet eclipse. I feel PE isn't that good of paintball marker. I cant stand the way pe markers feels no matter which one it is. Sure people harp on reliability. To be honest if you know how to work on markers they are all reliable. We live in a paintball era where their isn't much for improvement. Since pe markers are mass pressed out markers they are boring and it's like buying a ford focus. It's reliable but it feels cheap and mass produced. Dosen't matter if it's their spool or poppit pe guns feel plasticky and bland. I've owned all of the current pe select and the best one is mg100. For a mechanical marker it's a damn nice mech gun. Pe electronics markers are bland. I have owned the X and it's a much better choice than any pe tourney marker.

It 100% comes down to personal preference. I really don't like how the Luxe guns feel in my hand, I don't like the trigger frame, the grips, the trigger, or the foregrip, and I hated the shot of the ICE. I would much rather shoot a CS2 or an LV1.5 over an ICE or X any day.

I agree with the maintenance part, and I feel like planet eclipse makes the worst triggers out of all the manufacturers right now, but other than that, I would never flat out say they are a bad brand, not in the slightest. Not necessarily flashy looking like a luxe or m3, but I liked everything else about the planet eclipse marker I owned (geo 3.1 with IV core). I'd personally take an m3 or luxe x over a cs2, or a dsr over the gtek, but to say they're cheap and not a solid option is kinda silly. People still use geo's and ego's from almost a decade ago and they still run without many issues.

I feel like DLX, DYE, Bob Long, SP, MacDev and any others I have left off the list are always overshadowed by Planet Eclipse. And like SAS C-BLOCK I cannot see why. All these other brands make great products and have just as good as reliability as a PE marker. However, a PE marker just does not have that WOW factor to me like a Dye M3+ with its easy to use big screen and awesome barrel. The DLX has a nice barrel system, talks to you, and has a great oled screen. The PE markers just feel dated. They use an old LCD screen, materials just seem cheap, but the freakin things just work. But most of all, the great thing about paintball is that we all have a choice, right? We get to choose with our wallets what we want to buy and what we think is king.

@@CallMeSlavik AFAIK the designer for the DSR and M3 (John Sutherland, I think his name is?) worked with Jack Wood at PE during the design of the Gamma Core, before moving to DYE and creating the DSR and M3. I'm not sure who designed the bolt for the X.

CS2 all the way, Luxe’s look great but in my opinion aren’t as reliable especially when playing in inclement weather. Let’s face it the last thing you want to do at the field is to be trying to fix your marker all day while your buddies are waiting for you.

There's a reason they put a "cs2" bolt as people like to call it in. Despite production growing pains this gun is extremely reliable in adverse weather conditions. Try one out you'll be impressed. Lol
